Germany seeks Israeli partnership on cyberdefence, plans 'cyber dome'
BERLIN, June 29 (Reuters) - Germany is aiming to establish a joint German-Israeli cyber research centre and deepen collaboration between the two countries' intelligence and security agencies, German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said on Sunday.
Germany is among Israel's closest allies in Europe, and Berlin has increasingly looked to draw upon Israel's defence expertise as it boosts its military capabilities and contributions to NATO in the face of perceived growing threats from Russia and China.
"Military defence alone is not sufficient for this turning point in security. A significant upgrade in civil defence is also essential to strengthen our overall defensive capabilities," Dobrindt said during a visit to Israel, as reported by Germany's Bild newspaper.
Dobrindt, who was appointed by new German Chancellor Friedrich Merz last month, arrived in Israel on Saturday.
According to the Bild report, Dobrindt outlined a five-point plan aimed at establishing what he called a "Cyber Dome" for Germany, as part of its cyberdefence strategy.
Earlier on Sunday, Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Soeder called for the acquisition of 2,000 interceptor missiles to equip Germany with an "Iron Dome" system similar to Israel's short-range missile defence technology.

AN ICONIC carmaker has just revealed the design for their new four-door electric vehicle as a replacement for one of their other motors. It features some exciting " cutting edge" technology, as an EV alternative with speakers in its headlights, and a 1,360hp engine. 3 3 The new Mercedes-AMG XX is a concept car that has been unveiled by the popular car manufacturer, with a production version expected soon. The design features a range of cutting edge motor and battery technology for the all-electric car to replace the current Mercedes-AMG GT Four Door. It is expected to be the most aerodynamic, as a main focus, and one of the fastest cars Mercedes has ever made - even more than their Forumla-1 inspired AMG One. There will be due to the 1,360hp from three new electric motors fitted into the vehicle, giving it a combined power output of one megawatt. This means the new AMG XX will be able to reach a top speed of 224mph, which is 5mph faster than the AMG One. Whilst a zero to 60mph has not been revealed for the car, it is likely to have the fastest accelerating power of any car from the brand. It will therefore be more powerful, and lighter than a Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, and may even break the 2.0-second barrier. Other exciting features include speakers in the headlights, carbon fibre bucket seat customised to passengers body shapes using 3D printed foam panels, and chequered flag ambient lighting on the interior. The speakers will be able to make different noises at low or fast speeds, and warn pedestrians of the cars presence. There is no rear window on the car, but there is a panel between the taillights which enables owners to customise their own message on the back. As an electric car, the AMG XX is expected to be four times more powerful than the latest Tesla at 850kw DC. That means in just five minutes, the car can be charged 20-80 per cent, if a station that supports it can be found. Although no official figure for the car's range has been determined, it is expected to get around 300 miles on a single charge. It is uncertain when the new Mercedes-AMG XX Concept will go on sale, but it has surely inspired production for a car to go on the market in the near future.

‘Bombs went through like butter' Trump declares as he rips critics who claim US attacks didn't destroy Iran nuke sites
DONALD Trump has celebrated his blitz on Iran again as he described US bombs as going through enemy nuclear sites "like absolute butter". The proud president has been on a week long victory lap since he dropped 12 30,000lb bunker busting bombs on Tehran. 7 7 7 The US joined Israel on decimating Iran's key nuclear facilities on June 21. Trump hailed the strikes at the time and said they obliterated their targets as planned despite some claiming the hits were less successful than first thought. Three sites were reportedly hit including the main target - the Fordlow nuke plant. Tehran has admitted since that Operation Midnight Hammer and the joint Israeli attacks did cause "excessive and serious" damage. Speaking this morning with Fox News' Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures, Trump said the bombs easily performed as expected. He explained: "The bomb went through it, like it was butter, like it was absolute butter. "It was obliterated like nobody's ever seen before. And that meant the end to their nuclear ambitions at least for a period of time." Trump also hit out again as those who had tried to say his strikes have only set back Iran's nuclear development program a few months rather than years. A leaked Defense Intelligence Agency report first casted doubt on President Trump's "obliterated" claim. The report, published by CNN and The New York Times, claimed they did not destroy Iran's nuclear capability by any genuine means. White House fuming over top secret leak on Iran nuke site bombing as Don attends key summit Others had speculated online that Iran had been trying to remove the enriched uranium from the base so they could rebuild their operations once the US left. The preliminary report even stated that Iran had managed to shift much of the uranium safely out - a claim Trump and US officials vehemently deny. Responding to those claims, a defiant Trump said: "A lot of people have said, well, 'do you think they're going to start again?' "I said, the last thing they want to do right now is think about nuclear. They have to put themselves back into condition, in shape." The war in the Middle East lasted just 12 days as it quickly turned into a major conflict when Trump decided to strike the Iranian nuclear sites. The attacks helped to end the war, according to Trump, with both Israel and Iran quickly declaring they had won the fight afterwards. Iranian Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, 86, claimed victory over Israel and America despite his country being hammered for almost two weeks. The supreme leader ludicrously claimed Iran had almost crushed Israel and the government in Tel Aviv was on the verge of collapse. That's despite the IDF controlling the skies over Tehran, assassinating dozens of top generals and nuclear scientists, and destroying dozens of valuable missile batteries in just 12 days of fighting. Even with a ceasefire being agreed upon, Trump made it clear he would "absolutely" consider bombing Iran again if it was ever needed. He told reporters in the White House he would "without question" attack the country if US intelligence pointed towards Iran enriching uranium to concerning levels. It comes as Iran held a funeral for the commanders wiped out in the war. The event was severely plagued by "Death to America" chants and the burning of Israeli flags across the day. 7 7 7
