Blackpink's Lisa and Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Steal the Spotlight at Bulgari's Star-Studded Event

Elle20-05-2025

High art met high jewelry last night in Taormina, Italy, as Bulgari transformed the picturesque coastal town into a dazzling showcase for its new Polychroma collection. Renowned for its bold and joyful use of color, the Roman jeweler unveiled 600 stunning creations, including 250 new designs, 60 'millionaire' pieces, and five milestone styles. With the spectacular display, Bulgari once again affirmed its philosophy: the stones don't choose Bulgari—Bulgari chooses the stones, selecting only the most extraordinary gems the world has to offer.
The evening began with a gala dinner at the iconic Grand Hotel Timeo, where Blackpink's Lisa, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Viola Davis, Liu Yifei, and more stars offered a preview of what was to come, gracing the carpet in Polychroma pieces designed by creative director Lucia Silvestri. Set on a terrace overlooking the majestic Mount Etna and the shimmering Ionian Sea, the ambiance was a harmonious blend of Sicilian charm and classical inspiration. The décor, paired with a menu of local delicacies and subtle Greek motifs, served as a poetic prelude to the main presentation.
After dinner, guests were ushered to the ancient Greek Theater of Taormina, where they were treated to a three-act performance showcasing the Polychroma collection. Models donned custom gowns by Francesco Murano, adorned with the high jewelry pieces, and the evening was masterfully choreographed by Sir Wayne McGregor, resident choreographer of The Royal Ballet, who seamlessly blended dance and performance art into a powerful visual narrative that brought the collection to life.
For those wishing to explore the collection up close, Polychroma was on display at the San Domenico Palace in a thoughtfully curated showroom that fused art and high jewelry. Digital artist Zach Lieberman's code-driven works were reimagined by renowned textile house Rubelli, suspended above milestone high jewelry pieces in a striking mosaic. Complementing the space, Taormina-based painter Alessandro Florio contributed handcrafted tapestries, adding a layer of local artistry to the immersive experience.
Bulgari also introduced three innovative experiences that brought a modern edge to the display. Polychroma Theatre, created by artist Giuseppe Lo Schiavo, breathed digital life into a classical statue dating back to 1545–1546, merging past and future through immersive animation. Guests could step into Bulgari's universe via Apple Vision Pro, experiencing the brand's world in an entirely new dimension. Bulgari also unveiled Connected Jewelry—a discreet, invisible code etched into the metal of each piece, offering access to unique details and the story behind every creation.
In honor of its new launch, Fondazione Bulgari also lent its support to two significant local initiatives: the restoration of a historic fresco at Palazzo Corvaja and a new partnership with the Antonio Salinas Regional Archaeological Museum in Palermo, further solidifying the brand's commitment to preserving cultural heritage.

Micah Parsons Makes Cowboys Announcement for Monday

Micah Parsons Makes Cowboys Announcement for Monday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. FRISCO - It went from "prank'' to "pep talk'' to "promise.'' Micah Parsons make weekend phone calls to a handful of Dallas Cowboys pals, following up on the viral trend of contacting friends to wish them an out-of-the-blue "goodnight.'' Advertisement Micah called teammates Tyler Smith, Trevon Diggs, Osa Odighizuwa and KaVontae Turpin. ... and then he called his new coach, Brian Schottenheimer. And that's when things took a serious and important turn. "Look, I know this is weird for everybody man, but look, you're handling everything the right way, bro," Schotty said to Parsons, of course referring to Micah's contract negotiations. "This thing's going to get worked out, and again I'm thrilled to see where we take this thing, man. "We're building something special and you're going to be a huge part of it, bro." "Hell yeah!" Parsons responded. Parsons, who recorded himself making the phone calls to post on his TikTok, is of course entangled in negotiations with the Cowboys toward a contract extension that eventually figures to pay him $40 million or so annually, making him one of the richest non-QBs in NFL history. Advertisement Also part of the conversation, as the team begins mandatory minicamp this week? That aforementioned "promise.'' "You know, I feel like player to coach, just checking in on you. Wanted to say goodnight, whole fam as well. See you Monday, you know, excited about next week," Micah said to his first-year head coach. "See you Monday.'' Parsons has been "in and out'' (Schottenheimer's words) for the team's voluntary OTAs, and has all along vowed to not use an offseason holdout as leverage in his contract talks with team owners Jerry and Stephen Jones. Things can change; this is a short session this week (team dinner on Monday and three days of work) and then comes six weeks off before training camp in Oxnard. ... so leverage can still be in play down the line. Advertisement But Micah has stated how important it is to him to be with the team and with this coach. And Schotty's support and endorsement of his All-Pro defensive cornerstone reinforces that same importance. During his short time on the job, Schottenheimer has preached the building of relationships while he focuses on remaining "authentic.'' This listen-behind-the-curtain establishes that ... And accomplishes so much more. "I appreciate the call, man, for real, and I look forward to seeing you Monday,'' the coach told the player. "And it's going to be a great week." Meta sued by Eminem's publishing company over alleged copyright infringement

Eight Mile Style, a company that owns some of Eminem's most popular songs, is suing social media giant Meta over alleged copyright infringement. The lawsuit, filed in a federal court in Michigan, accuses the Menlo Park-based tech company of storing, reproducing and distributing Eminem's music without obtaining the license to do so. Eight Mile Style, which is based in Ferndale, Mich., is seeking at least $109 million from Meta and a court order to stop several alleged forms of copyright infringement. Music is a big part of social media. On Meta's platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, people add music in photos and videos they share publicly or with their friends and family. But the way social media has changed the way people listen to and discover new songs has also sparked concerns from artists about whether they're fairly compensated. 'Meta's years-long and ongoing infringement of the Eight Mile Compositions is another case of a trillion (with a 'T') dollar company exploiting the creative efforts of musical artists for the obscene monetary benefit of its executives and shareholders without a license and without regard to the rights of the owners of the intellectual property,' the lawsuit said. Meta said in a statement that it has licenses with thousands of partners globally and an 'extensive' global licensing programs for music on its platforms. 'Meta had been negotiating in good faith with Eight Mile Style, but rather than continue those discussions, Eight Mile Style chose to sue,' the company said in an email. Eight Mile Style owns and controls 243 compositions recorded by Eminem, a rapper and music producer that has created popular hits such as 'Lose Yourself.' Meta did remove some of these songs including 'Lose Yourself' from its music libraries, but other versions of the music including a piano instrumental cover and a karaoke version still remain on the platform, according to the lawsuit. Meta not only allowed users who upload these songs to infringe on copyright but knowingly stored and reproduced them in its music libraries so users can use the music in videos and photos, the lawsuit alleges. Users have added Eminem's music in millions of videos that have been viewed billions of times, according to the lawsuit. Meta also unsuccessfully tried to obtain a license for Eminem's songs as part of negotiations with the digital music royalty company Audiam even though the firm didn't have the authority to give them that license. 'Meta executives have actively encouraged such rampant infringement in order to attract as many users as possible to, among other things, make advertising on their services more profitable for themselves,' the lawsuit said. More than 3 billion people use one of Meta's apps daily, and the company makes billions of dollars every quarter from advertising. In the first three months of this year, Meta's revenue reached $42.31 billion, an increase of 16% year-over-year. The company's net income jumped by 35% to $16.6 billion in the first quarter. This isn't the first time Meta has faced legal issues over the use of Eminem's music. In 2013, Eight Mile Style sued Facebook, alleging the social network used the Eminem song 'Under the Influence' for an ad without their consent. ___ © 2025 Los Angeles Times.
