Glasgow Lush manager shares favourite bath bomb moments
Magz Macphee-David, senior manager at Lush Glasgow City, shared her fondest retail memories from the last 30 years of Lush in celebration of World Bath Bomb Day on April 27.
Magz insists that the store's success is down to their "wonderful customers and the Glasgow community."

Recalling a particularly special moment, Magz said: "We had a beautiful interaction with customers who we had been chatting to and showing around, they were carrying a big envelope.
"At one point, they started whispering to each other and I heard one say to the other, 'You ask her.'
"I was a bit confused when they told me what was happening.
"They said they had just been for a gender scan for her baby and because we had such a lovely interaction and in their words, I was funny and kind, they wanted me to be part of it.
"They asked me to open the envelope and find out if it was a boy or girl, they both didn't even know, so I was obviously very touched that they trusted me with something so special and personal.
"They asked me to secretly choose a blue or pink bath bomb depending on the info in the envelope so they could do a gender reveal with their toddler at home.
"I thought this was so adorable and special, and just goes to show the special relationship we can create with our customers by just being genuine and kind."
The Glasgow City store, which is the largest Lush in Scotland, sold 156,650 bath bombs in 2024 alone, with Snow Fairy being the most popular.
In fact, Glasgow's three stores combined sell more of the Snow Fairy Range than any other region in the world.
Its current best-seller is Nae Stressie, co-created by Lush Glasgow staff, with over 6,000 sold in-store last year.

"Our Lush community in Glasgow is why we were able to successfully pitch and open the anchor store, with talents of staff across the city coming together in one space to grow their careers."
To celebrate Lush's 30th birthday, 30 new bath bombs will launch in stores this World Bath Bomb Day.

Glasgow company CCG named Homebuilder of the Year 2025

The second award was for the Water Row development in partnership with Govan Housing Group. Read more: Event to explore the history of one of Scotland's largest steelworks CCG has a significant focus on affordable housebuilding, with 1,200 affordable homes currently being constructed across the Central Belt. The company, which employs more than 630 staff members, including 48 apprentices, aims to foster quality, innovation, and social impact in delivering affordable homes. An important component of their strategy is the use of advanced construction methods and low-carbon technologies to address housing needs, combat fuel poverty, and help Scotland achieve net zero. David Wylie, managing director of CCG, said: "Being named Homebuilder of the Year is a tremendous honour and a testament to the dedication and talent of our 630-strong team. "What's particularly heartening is the strength of our culture being embraced across the company - especially by the growing number of younger colleagues, who are already becoming the backbone of our future. "Our people, along with our much-valued clients and delivery partners, have shown incredible resilience through a challenging year for the sector, with public sector budget cuts and inflationary pressures making it increasingly difficult to keep affordable homes affordable. "However, through close collaboration with our clients and early-stage contractor involvement, we've been able to better control costs and mitigate external risks - proving that this model delivers results. 'More clients are placing their trust in CCG to lead projects from the outset, and while we know more must be done to address the housing emergency, we're confident that we're on the right path – powered by the commitment and passion of our people.' The Water Row development, which earned CCG its second award, was completed in May 2024. It features 92 mid-market rental homes and 6 community-focused commercial spaces. Sunderland must 'strengthen' but need 'more than one window'
We asked for your views on whether Sunderland need to act urgently in the transfer market, with the first of two windows this summer closing at 19:00 BST on are some of your comments:Craig: We need to use this first window to get the players we don't want out and then use the second window to Hopefully we can get a couple of experienced players, like Jordan Henderson, in at some stage. Then we can add a few quality players, either from the Championship or with Premier League experience, but I don't think we need to break the It will take more than one transfer window to complete a Premier League squad, I'm afraid. Priorities must be a top left-back, more pace and sharpness in midfield, and a different type of striker to the two we have. It's important to continue with the current recruitment model, but the addition of some sensible Henderson-like experience wouldn't go amiss. Unfortunately, it's arguable whether any of the promotion-winning squad are currently of Premier League quality but hopefully some can make the step up. I would take a fourth-bottom finish Obviously we need to strengthen the squad, while also retaining as many of our talented youth prospects as possible. We need an experienced Premier League striker, a holding midfielder and some central defenders.
