Police searching for suspect accused of robbing Haverhill bank
Authorities are asking for the public's help locating a suspect who allegedly robbed a bank on Monday afternoon.
Haverhill Police say they responded to Pentucket Bank on Lowell Avenue around 12:43 p.m. after a reported robbery.
According to investigators, a suspect handed a bank teller a note demanding money, then fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
No one was injured during the robbery.
Police describe the suspect as a 5/7″-5′9″ skinny Caucasian man with light colored facial hair.
Haverhill Police, Massachusetts State Police, and the FBI are all investigating.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Detective John Orsillo at 978-373-1212.

Immigration hearing being held for Milford High School student detained by ICE
A Milford High School student who was detained by ICE during a recent traffic stop is slated to face a judge in immigration court in Chelmsford. Marcelo Gomes Da Silva's court appearance will come after ICE filed a petition to move the 18-year-old to the Wyatt facility in Rhode Island, which was denied by a federal judge on Wednesday. The filing states that immigration authorities have not been able to secure a bed at the Burlington, Massachusetts, facility where Gomes Da Silva is currently being held. Gomes Da Silva's lawyer, Robin Nice, warned that this could affect his scheduled hearing at immigration court and violates his due process rights. Marcelo Gomes da Silvia was on his way to volleyball practice on Saturday when immigration officers detained him, but they say they were looking for his father, João Paulo Gomes Pereira. ICE officials have alleged that he is wanted for speeding 100 miles an hour through residential areas. Marcelo was driving his father's car when he was pulled over. 'When we go out into the community, and we find others who are unlawfully here, we are going to arrest them. We've been completely transparent with that. He's 18 years old, he is unlawfully in this country,' said Patricia Hyde, Field Office Director of ICE Enforcement. Nice argued that while the student-athlete doesn't have current lawful status, he did enter the country lawfully. 'He doesn't have current lawful status right now, but he did enter lawfully, he has no criminal record, so it does not, his situation does not at all fit into the narrative that ICE is putting out there that only criminals are being targeted,' Nice said. Boston 25 News found one record in the courts of a citation issued for Gomes Pereira in July of 2023 — court records show Milford Police cited him for failing to yield to a stop sign and driving with a revoked license as a habitual traffic offender. Sources familiar with his driving record tell 25 Investigates that he has had 16 driving-related citations since 2014. The teen's mother and father are desperate for their son to return home soon. 'I love Marcelo, we need Marcelo back home. It's no family without him. We love America, please bring my son back,' his father said in a video message. A family spokesperson said Marcelo Gomes da Silvia has been transferred to a Plymouth ICE facility and that there are concerns about his health because he hasn't been eating and has been sleeping on the floor. Milford Police Chief Robert Tusino says the department was not involved in this operation. 'I am not accusing any agency of doing anything wrong, I am just saying we're a small community and I think these things come better if the local police can run the investigation because we know the players, we know the people,' said Tusino. 11-Year-Old Girl Who Vanished from Local Park Safely Located After 2 Days Missing, Say Police

Bella had last been seen in Wiseman Park in Wollongong around 7 p.m. local time on Tuesday, June 3, according to a news release from the NSW Police. Wollongong is just over 50 miles south of Sydney and lies on the coast. 'When she could not be located or contacted, officers attached to the Wollongong Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts,' the release read, adding that the authorities and her family 'hold concerns due to her age.' NH lawmaker responds to accusations of suspected terrorist connections
New Hampshire senator Jeanne Shaheen's office responded late Wednesday to allegations her husband traveled multiple times in 2023 with a 'known or suspected terrorist' and received special treatment from TSA after she called to ask why he was subject to enhanced screening. On Wednesday morning, the Department of Homeland Security issued a news release, alleging Shaheen's husband, William Shaheen, had flown on at least three occasions in 2023 with a 'known or suspected terrorist.' DHS did not identify the other traveler, but said Mr. Shaheen was subject to enhanced security screening on each occasion. DHS says when Sen. Shaheen contacted TSA about the screenings, he was placed on a Secure Flight Exclusion List, meaning he was no longer subject to additional screening methods. DHS says Mr. Shaheen was on the list for 18 months until current TSA leadership removed him this spring. Boston 25 reached out directly to Sen. Shaheen's office and received the following statement from a spokesperson: 'Senator Shaheen contacted the Transportation Security Administration after her husband was subjected to several extensive, invasive, and degrading searches at airport checkpoints. Senator Shaheen sought to understand the nature and cause of these searches. Any suggestion that the Senator's husband was supposedly included on a Quiet Skies list is news to her and had never been raised before yesterday. Nor was she aware of any action taken following her call to remove him from such a list.' Senator Shaheen's husband is a prominent Lebanese-American attorney and is active in the Arab-American community. Shaheen's office would not identify who her husband traveled with, except to say they are an Arab-American attorney, and the events outlined by DHS took place in the aftermath of the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, after which the US heightened security. A spokesperson for the senator said the individual was also removed from the DHS Known or Suspected Terrorist list later that same year. This is a developing story.
