Murder accused linked to Nandu gang arrested
NEW DELHI: The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested a key member of the notorious Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu gang, officials said on Friday. Amardeep alias Amar Lochab (48), a resident of Auchandi village in Bawana, was wanted in a murder case in Faridabad and was absconding for nearly two years, they said.
According to police, the accused was also wanted under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) and Arms Act. 'Acting on a tip-off, police laid a trap near a canal on the Tikri-Jharoda road in the Mundka area on Thursday evening. The accused was spotted loitering near the canal, apparently waiting for someone. When police tried to intercept him, he attempted to flee. He was nabbed after a brief chase,' DCP (Special Cell) Amit Kaushik said. Police recovered a semi-automatic (.32) pistol and three live cartridges.

Lawyer threatens senior citizen, daughter with gun over land dispute in Mulshi
Pimpri-Chinchwad police have booked a lawyer and four other unidentified individuals for allegedly threatening a man and his daughter at gunpoint during a land-related dispute in Kasarsai village of Mulshi taluka on Friday. The accused has been identified as Sandeep Hiraman Bhaoir, 48, a resident of Dange Chowk Thergaon. A complaint was filed by Shabbir Mulani, 63. According to police, the incident occurred around 1:30 pm at Survey No. 19/1 in Kasarsai. The complainant was sitting outside his house when Bhoir and four unidentified men approached the property, allegedly to inspect the plot. When Mulani questioned their presence and asked why they were near his home, stating that the land belonged to his family, an argument broke out. Enraged, Bhoir allegedly pulled out a firearm and threatened Mulani and his daughter. The other men in the group reportedly abused and intimidated the complainant. Based on Mulani's complaint, Hinjewadi police booked Bhoir and his associates under sections 189(2), 189(4), 190, 191(2), and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, along with relevant sections of the Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Act. Vishal Gaikwad, deputy commissioner of police zone ||, confirmed the case and said further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the remaining accused. Bhaoir has also filed a cross-complaint against Mulani for assaulting him. Four others were present with Bhaoir when the incident took place, said police.

3 held after Ferozepur daylight firing; accomplice killed in shootout
Bathinda: Three men who opened fire in broad daylight in Ferozepur on Thursday were arrested following an encounter with the police. All three — identified as Gurjinder, Amarjit, and Sonu — sustained bullet injuries to their legs and were admitted to Ferozepur Civil Hospital. According to eyewitnesses, the trio was seen firing openly, with Gurjinder wielding a pistol in each hand and discharging both simultaneously. However, when the group reportedly went to target another individual, they ended up losing one of their own — Ashu Monga — who was killed during the exchange of fire. Ferozepur DIG Harmanbir Singh Gill and SSP Bhupinder Singh said preliminary investigation suggests the deceased had a dispute with one Yuvraj alias Yuvi, who had allegedly made derogatory remarks about Ashu's wife. Unable to bear the insult, Ashu sought help from his friends — Gurjinder, Amarjit, and Sonu — and headed to the Makhu Gate area, where Yuvi was at a tattoo shop. The group entered the shop, but before Ashu could confront or harm Yuvi, the latter drew his weapon and shot Ashu, killing him on the spot. The SSP said the three accomplices of Ashu came out and fired towards the tattoo shop, thereafter, Yuvi also fired some shots and somehow succeeded in escaping. However, the three were seen firing multiple shots and escaped on a bike. The SSP added that the police on Friday night got a tip-off that the three were travelling near Ratta Khera village, and a naka was laid near a drain at Ratta Khera village with support from counterintelligence. When three people coming on a motorbike were signalled to stop, they fired at the police party, following which the police retaliated. One of the three sustained two bullet injuries, while the two others sustained one bullet injury each in the brief encounter and were taken to the civil hospital, Ferozepur. Cross cases have been registered against both groups, with a case under murder charges against Yuvi and attempt to murder charges, apart from the Arms Act, against Amarjit, Gurjinder, and Sonu. 21-year-old intending to sell swords held
Bhopal: Cops said that in a major breakthrough against illegal weapons possession, Talaiya police on Saturday arrested a 21-year-old man and seized 12 sharp-edged swords from his possession in the city. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The operation was carried out on June 6 under the direction of Talaiya police SHO Deepak Dheriya, as part of a special drive targeting individuals suspected of possessing illegal arms. The arrested accused, Sameer Agariya, a resident of Bapu Nagar, near Kamla Nagar, Nehru Nagar, was found roaming near Patra Nala, close to the water tank, with the intention to sell the illegal swords. Police apprehended him on the spot and recovered all 12 sharp-edged swords, each measuring approximately 33 inches in length. Sameer was taken into custody before he could sell the weapons. The seized items were documented, and a case was registered against him under relevant sections of the Arms Act. Police are investigating the source and intended buyers of the weapons, and further legal action and probe are underway.
