J-K LG inaugurates CCTV surveillance system with integrated command & control centre at Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine
Katra (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], June 10 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday inaugurated 'CCTV Surveillance System with Integrated Command & Control Centre' at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine
'Cutting-edge technology will enable real-time monitoring and crowd management for safety, security of devotees, and it will ensure hassle-free pilgrimage,' the Lieutenant Governor said.
The Lieutenant Governor observed that Actionable insights gleaned from the system will enable prompt response in emergencies. The Command & Control Infrastructure, including an AI-powered surveillance ecosystem, will provide comprehensive situational awareness, optimise operations and Quick and efficient coordination with emergency responders.
The large-scale, technology-driven surveillance and crowd management initiative will significantly enhance safety and security and improve crowd control measures and operational efficiency within the shrine area.
Under the project, One Integrated Command & Control Centre (ICCC) is located at Katra and seven Sub-Control Centers along the pilgrimage track for localised monitoring and coordination have been established which will ensure 24x7 monitoring of all vulnerable and high-traffic zones and enable proactive and prompt response to crowd build-up, security breaches, or medical emergencies.
Over 700 cameras have been deployed across the Shrine Area, including 170 new high-definition IP cameras and integration of more than 500 existing cameras, covering all critical and vulnerable locations, including entry/exit points, gathering areas, and the pilgrimage track.
The Project also featured AI-based analytics & advanced technology mechanisms like Gesture Recognition, Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), Facial Recognition, Intrusion Detection System, Crowd Management Tools.
Anshul Garg, CEO, SMVDSB, gave a detailed presentation on the Integrated Command & Control Centre's technical features and its anticipated benefits in day-to-day shrine functioning. He informed that the Centre is equipped to generate automated alerts for crowd congestion, route blockages, landslides or emergencies, thereby enabling swift decision-making and response.
The Lieutenant Governor also interacted with the engineers and operational staff at the Centre. He emphasised the need for regular training of staff and seamless collaboration with security agencies and other stakeholders to maximise the Centre's utility.
Notably, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has recently provided advanced security equipments to the security agencies deployed for the yatra management including X-Ray Baggage Scanners, Door Frame Metal Detectors, Hand-Held Metal Detectors, and Under Vehicle Search Mirrors/Scanners, to enhance robust security measures in the Shrine area, in pursuance to joint security review conducted last year on the directions of the Lieutenant Governor.
Ashok Bhan, Member, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Bhim Sen Tuti, IGP Jammu, Nidhi Malik, Deputy Commissioner Reasi and other senior officers of Police, Security Agencies and Shrine Board were also present. (ANI)

New Delhi: India is actively working on revolutionary public transport systems, including flying buses and ultra-modern electric buses, to ease traffic congestion, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has said. The concept of flying buses in India refers largely to aerial pod-based transport systems, a form of Personal Rapid Transit (PRT). These are small, automatic electric vehicles that run on elevated tracks, either hanging from rails above or riding on top of them. They work like on-demand taxis, meaning you can call a pod, and it will take you straight to your destination without stopping along the way. Each pod can carry around two to six people. Some models used in other countries, like SkyTran, can reach speeds of up to 240 kmph using magnetic technology. Electric Buses Also In Works Mr Gadkari also shared that his ministry was planning a double-decker bus-like system that travels from one mountain to another in states like Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir. "These are part of our efforts to make public transport more efficient and accessible," he said. The ministry has also launched a high-capacity electric bus project in Nagpur. This 135-seater electric bus is equipped with flash-charging technology and will run on the city's ring road. "It will have 135 seats, executive class seating, a TV in front, and a top speed of 120 kmph," Mr Gadkari said. "The bus will stop every 40 km, passengers will get off and on within 30 seconds, and in that time, the bus will also get charged." The buses will also have "bus hostesses," similar to air hostesses on flights, the minister revealed. Fares for these futuristic electric buses are expected to be 30 per cent lower than diesel buses. Once the Nagpur model is rolled out successfully, the government plans to expand this service across key corridors: Delhi-Jaipur, Delhi-Chandigarh, Delhi-Dehradun, Bengaluru-Chennai, and Mumbai to Nashik and Pune, he said.

Taiwan's semiconductor giant TSMC's revenue grows by 39.6% in May 2025 (YoY)
ANI 10 Jun 2025, 13:04 GMT+10 New Delhi [India], June 10 (ANI): Taiwan's Multinational semiconductor company, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) on Tuesday, reported a rise of 39.6 per cent (year on year) in its net revenue for May 2025. The company reported a net revenue of NTD 320.52 billion (USD 10.70 billion) for May 2025, as compared to NTD 229.62 billion (USD 7.67 billion) reported for May on a month-on-month basis, the revenue of TSMC declined by 8.3 per cent in May 2025 as compared with April's figure of NTD 349.57 billion (USD 11.67 billion).For the first five months of this year, the revenue of the company was at NTD 1,509.34 billion (USD 50.38 billion), which was nearly 43 per cent more than what was reported for the same period of the previous year. TSMC served over 500 customers worldwide in 2024, and it manufactured 11,878 products for various applications covering a variety of end markets, including high-performance computing, smartphones, the Internet of Things (IoT), automotive, and digital consumer to the company, the annual capacity of the manufacturing facilities managed by TSMC and its subsidiaries exceeded 16 million 12-inch equivalent wafers in 2024. Last month, the company reported a significant rise in revenue figures for April 2025, attributed to a surge in demand for advanced postponed the commencement of construction for its second wafer fabrication plant in Kumamoto, Japan, citing significant traffic issues impacting TSMC also confirmed that the company has no plans to establish a manufacturing plant in the Middle East, specifically dismissing rumours about building a chip foundry in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). UP: Rampur's Raza Library receives praise in Russia for its AI Chatbot 'Conversational Books' concept
Rampur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 10 (ANI): Rampur's Raza Library in Uttar Pradesh earned acclaim for its innovative and forward-thinking approach. Its AI-powered talking book initiative was particularly praised during the annual festival of the Russian Library Association. Pushkar Mishra, Director of Rampur Raza Library, who represented the institution in Russia, shared that several facets of the library were discussed during the event. He also highlighted the library's forthcoming initiatives, including the integration of artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, and advanced digital platforms. 'As a director of the Rampur Raza Library, I visited the place where a delegation of India had gone to Russia for the annual festival of the Russian Library Association, in which he invited India,' Mishra told ANI on Tuesday. 'We discussed the various aspects of the library. I highlighted what Rampur Raza Library is going to do in the coming days on artificial intelligence, blockchain technology and digital platforms, in which the most important aspect was that we have proposed a suggestion of speaking books or conversational books or talking books. Under this concept, we said that in the coming days Rampur Raza Library will arrange such chatbots in which various books can be arranged,' he added. Speaking about the library's new initiative of conversational books, Mishra said, 'Scholars and students will be able to talk about any question in the subject, from its content and its contemplation to its thinking. Thus, by using such technology, we are going to transform the library in the coming times with the help of conversational books. 'All the librarians of the world who came there praised this concept very much and said that this concept is completely new and, in the coming times, Rampur Raza Library will probably be the first library in the world that will have speaking books,' he stated. He further mentioned that the heads of other libraries expressed interest in implementing similar initiatives in their own institutions in the near future. The annual festival also discussed the Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, where Mishra said that India and Russia have to lead the whole world to create a world free of religious terror so that future generations can get a happy, prosperous and peaceful future. 'While discussing the problem of Ukraine, it was as complex as Kashmir, to which I replied that what Pakistan is a problem. Kashmir was never a problem, and it will not be. Religious terror, which was given birth to by Pakistan and exported by Pakistan and one in the form of Pakistan. The state, which is a nuclear state, is owned by religious terrorists, which is a threat to the entire planet. Therefore, all countries must come together to protect the entire human race.
