Alleged drug trafficker used cartel connections to buy drugs to sell in northwest GA community
Three people are facing charges after deputies said they found pounds of meth at a northwest Georgia home.

For the past several months, the Northwest Georgia Drug Task Force has been investigating a homeowner who lived on Tolbert Road in Rockmart.
Investigators say evidence obtained led them to believe the homeowner was using his cartel connections to buy drugs to sell in Haralson County.
On Friday, the NWGDTF served a search warrant at the home on Tolbert Road.
Officials said they found four and a half pounds of methamphetamine, several nonprescribed schedule four prescription pills, scales, baggies, smoking devices and other drug trafficking paraphernalia along with a gun.

Authorities arrested Nicky Scott Proctor, 61, Tabatha Michelle Miller, 45, and Tracey Lanette Brookshire, 53, all of Rockmart.
Proctor was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a Schedule IV drug.
Miller was charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine.
Brookshire was charged with possession of methamphetamine. She was also booked on an outstanding bench warrant.
Haralson County Sheriff Stacy Williams said he's appreciative of the great work of the Northwest Georgia Drug Task Force.
'I am very appreciative of the great work done by our Northwest Georgia Drug Task Force in taking down this major drug trafficker and removing him and his poison from our communities,' said Williams. 'We stand firm in our commitment to hunt down, arrest and prosecute anyone that brings drugs into Haralson County. Do not get comfortable, we will not stop.'
The trio is currently behind bars at the Haralson County Jail.

8-year-old shot in South Fulton
The South Fulton Police Department said one person was arrested after a 8-year-old was shot Friday night. 2 arrested after chase that started in Villa Rica, involved 2 collisions, police say
Police say two people from Atlanta were arrested after a chase that stretched from Villa Rica to Carrolton on Thursday. The Villa Rica Police Department said the suspects' truck damaged three other vehicles, but no one was reportedly hurt. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] A Villa Rica officer said he tried to stop a Ram truck for an illegal window tint at about 8 p.m. Thursday. Police said the truck traveled slowly before coming to a stop in the fast lane on Highway 61. Once a second police unit arrived, officers tried to contact the driver, later identified as Kevin Lynch. Police said the truck hit two vehicles, and debris from one of those collisions struck a third vehicle. People in the truck were also seen throwing items out of the vehicle during the chase. Lynch and passenger Julia Brown were arrested on several charges. Lynch was charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, possession of firearm by convicted felon, possession of a firearm during certain crimes, felony fleeing and eluding, several counts of hit and run and several other traffic offenses. Brown was charged with tampering with evidence, criminal trespass and obstruction and littering. Villa Rica police said Carroll County Sheriff's Office, Georgia State Patrol and Carrollton Police Department assisted in the arrest. Officials say this incident is still being investigated.

Second inmate who escaped minimum security facility in Ohio arrested; 2 remain on the run
Two of the four inmates who escaped a minimum security facility in central Ohio two weeks ago have been arrested, according to our news partners in Columbus, WBNS-10 TV. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Online jail records in Franklin County show that Micahel Norton, 32, was arrested on Friday. As previously reported by News Center 7, Jeremy Bowen, 30, was the first inmate who was caught. He was arrested on May 24. Norton was one of four inmates who escaped the Franklin County Community-Based Correctional Facility in Columbus on May 22 by smashing through a window.
