Mittens & Pants features best friends Mittens the kitten and Pants the puppy who live in the all-animal town of Kibble Corners — each day is a new adventure for these unlikely best friends. And Season 3 is currently in production in Hamilton, Ontario. New to the beloved kitten and puppy's hometown this season is a guinea pig news station, a rumbling kitten sports stadium, and a whimsical magic shop. Season 3 will also feature special Halloween, holiday, and musical episodes.
'Windy Isle and Thunderbird are doing an incredible job of baking discoverability right into their brand strategy, helping to grow the global audience for Mittens & Pants, and we are thrilled to order the third litter of this adorable show from Phil McCordic, one of Canada's most innovative creators,' said Marie McCann, Senior Director, Children's Content, CBC Kids.
Thunderbird Distribution has also secured more international sales for seasons 1 and 2 of the adorable live-action preschool series.
In the U.S., streamers Peacock, HappyKids and Kidoodle.TV have taken Season 2 (42 x 7 minutes), and Canadian French-language broadcasters TFO and Radio-Canada have picked up Season 1. The series is now available in 78 territories.
On the digital side, Mittens & Pants has just landed on the hugely popular Roblox platform with the My Carrots Simulator game, featuring the series' breakout carrot-farming bunny Monsieur LaFleur. Players select their bunny tractor and collect Monsieur LaFleur's favourite thing – carrots! They can amass their stash to upgrade their tractors and unlock new characters. Officially launched this winter, My Carrots Simulator is being continually updated with new quest systems and weekly leaderboards.
Finally , Mittens & Pants has seen substantial growth in the last six months on YouTube ( @MittensandPantsOfficial), Instagram ( @mittensandpantstv), and TikTok ( @mittensandpantstv). The series now boasts more than 318,000 followers, 65 million views, and 7.3 million interactions counted across the three digital platforms.
'We're so excited to see how much these characters have connected with audiences on a global scale,' says Mittens & Pants creator and showrunner, Phil McCordic. 'The puppies and kittens (and bunnies, guinea pigs and hamsters) are endlessly surprising and delightful. It's as fun a show to make as it is to watch.'
'I knew from the outset that Mittens & Pants was something special and unique in the current landscape of preschool entertainment,' said Richard Goldsmith, President of Global Distribution and Consumer Products at Thunderbird. 'And with an exciting third season in the works, increased distribution, expansion into digital mediums and great growth across social media and YouTube, we are confident that Mittens & Pants is on track to be a global brand.'

Sunwing Vacations, Make-A-Wish® Canada and Planet Hollywood Cancun come together to fulfill the wish of an all inclusive vacation experience for 30 children with critical illnesses Français

First ever Group Wish Trip with three great brands takes flight from Montreal on June 12, with wish kids and their families enjoying a tropical escape to Planet Hollywood Cancun MONTREAL, June 9, 2025 /CNW/ - On June 12, Sunwing Vacations, Make-A-Wish Canada, and Planet Hollywood Cancun will come together to make wishes come true for children facing critical illnesses. Thirty children, who wished for a tropical escape, along with their families, will experience an unforgettable getaway at Planet Hollywood Cancun in Mexico, creating joyful memories that will last a lifetime. This special wish trip embodies Make-A-Wish Canada's mission to deliver joy, hope, and much-needed rest to families facing extraordinary challenges. "We're so excited to partner with Sunwing Vacations and Planet Hollywood Cancun to launch this first-of-its-kind group wish trip—an experience made even more special by its focus on serving Quebec-based families and other Canadian francophone communities," said Meaghan Stovel McKnight, Chief Executive Officer of Make-A-Wish Canada. "From the gate to the resort and all the way back home, we're confident this experience will bring much-needed strength and healing to these wish kids and their families." Departing from Montreal, Canada, the Wish families will enjoy a special Planet Hollywood-branded charter flight experience, featuring caring, bilingual crew, creating a warm and welcoming journey from start to finish. Upon arrival into Cancun, Mexico, the families will be welcomed by Sunwing's trusted local partner, NexusTours, and transported to Planet Hollywood Cancun in style on upgraded private transfers. With every detail designed for star treatment, this all-inclusive resort was chosen for the sense of joy it offers and what it represents for families looking to reconnect, have fun, and create lasting memories together on the pristine shores of Playa Mujeres. "At Blue Diamond Resorts, we're incredibly proud to be part of something so meaningful. Knowing that our Resort plays a role in creating unforgettable memories for these families is a true honor. Planet Hollywood Cancun was built around the magic of storytelling and once-in-a-lifetime experiences and helping bring dreams to life for so many young guests perfectly reflects that spirit," said Jurgen Stutz, Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Distribution for Blue Diamond Resorts. Last year, 72 per cent of the wishes Make-A-Wish Canada granted were travel wishes. This highlights the essential role that partnerships with travel organizations play in making these life-changing experiences possible for every eligible child still waiting for their wish to be granted. Sunwing Vacations generously donated the chartered aircraft to make wish travel possible for these 30 families. "At Sunwing Vacations, we believe in the power of travel to uplift, heal, and connect," said Lyne Chayer, Vice President, Sunwing Vacations Group Quebec. "We are incredibly proud to support this first-ever all-inclusive group Wish Trip to Mexico, helping bring joy and cherished memories to children and families who truly deserve a moment of magic. Partnering with Make-A-Wish Canada and Planet Hollywood Cancun on such a meaningful initiative speaks to our shared values of care, compassion, and community." Wishes wouldn't be possible without the dedication and generosity of the Make-A-Wish Canada community. From individual donors to corporate partners, from volunteers to supporters, everyone has the power to help grant wishes. But more support is needed for Make-A-Wish® Canada to achieve their vision of granting the wish of every eligible child. For Hannah Moscovitch, writing her plays is like exploring herself with a knife

Social Sharing It's never easy for Hannah Moscovitch to reveal her most devastating experiences to strangers. Nonetheless, the Canadian playwright says the results are always worth it. "I'm prouder of the plays that I've written where I've taken a knife and I've explored myself," Moscovitch tells Q 's Tom Power in an interview. "I think that they expose truth more clearly." Her latest show, Red Like Fruit, tells the story of Lauren, a journalist covering a high profile domestic violence case. Over the course of the play, Lauren starts to reexamine her own past experiences with men. WATCH | Official trailer for Red Like Fruit: Moscovitch says she understands that #MeToo politics are messy — that's why her show is about asking questions, not telling the audience what to think. "I often want to do plays that leave you with ambiguities," Moscovitch says. "[Plays] that show you nuance and sophistication, and many points of view represented within them.… Especially in a piece like Red Like Fruit. I think a lot of people who have had similar experiences are actually struggling with the fact that it's not right or wrong. Or it's not clear to them. Or they don't know." When Moscovitch began her career, she wanted to make lighthearted entertainment, and she wanted to act. But that was not her destiny — she was raised by ardent social activists, and her drama school teachers quickly spotted that she was better as a writer than a performer. Now, Moscovitch is a Governor General's Award-winning playwright. Many of her works have been acclaimed for offering uncompromising insights into the unspoken experiences of women. She says she wasn't willing to delve into this complex territory at the beginning of her career — it took time to find the courage. "I got braver and I got older, and I got more willing to be vulnerable," Moscovitch explains. "I got willing to, you know, turn my own gaze on myself in a way that I wouldn't have been comfortable with when I was a younger writer." She's glad that she's found a way to push past her fears, and connect with people who need to be heard. "There's something original about anything that has never been spoken," Moscovitch says. "And then there's a whole audience out there that feels so relieved that it's being spoken for the first time. And they love you for it. And you feel good."

Article content Canadians have always had a significant impact on the music industry, but one of my favourite eras has to be the indie resurgence of the early to mid-2000s. Artists like Arcade Fire, Bedouin Soundclash, Feist, Hot Hot Heat and Broken Social Scene were on heavy rotation on my iPod Nano at the time, and I'm happy to report that many of these bands are still touring today. Article content Article content Toronto-based Metric is one such group currently on tour, and they recently performed at Budweiser Stage for a retrospective of their 2009 Juno Award-winning album Fantasies. I was at the show in person, but if you missed the event, there's still a way to watch from home. Article content Article content Metric live in Toronto Article content I've seen Metric live before, but it's been more than a decade since I attended one of their concerts. This time I was seated in section 301, which at the Budweiser Stage venue is about halfway between the stage and the rear lawn section, and a little to the right. Tickets for the show ranged in price from $55 – $315 per person. Article content Article content The concert kicked off with opening performances by The Dears (a new-to-me artist) and Sam Roberts Band (another Canadian act that made it big in the early aughts), both of which were a great way to start the evening. For me, however, Metric was the biggest draw. I was just about to graduate from high school when the album Fantasies was released, so the concert was a unique opportunity to transport myself back in time and do a little reminiscing.
