Allie Colleen to play Blue Island's Lyric Theater before touring with Jelly Roll
Allie Colleen may live in Nashville, Tennessee, but the country artist has been building a fan base by touring to national and international venues.
The songwriter, who released the single 'Boys Like You' in July, returns to The Lyric Theater in Blue Island, where she performed in January, for another intimate concert on Oct. 20.
'We actually enjoyed the stage. We enjoyed the layout,' said Colleen about the venue with the tagline 'Where events become memories.'
'We never forget venues that treat us really well.'
Colleen, who sings and plays some acoustic guitar, is backed by guitarist Will Beeman, bassist Logan Hatcher and drummer Brian Russell Collins.
'We are releasing an EP in the early months of 2025 and we are going to debut a lot of that EP. We've never played most of this stuff live,' said Colleen, an Oklahoma native.
Recorded in Nashville, the 'Sincerely' EP features five songs including the single 'Grass on the Grave,' which was released in May.
Colleen's Southland tour stop along with another headlining gig Oct. 26 at Roof Garden Ballroom in Iowa offer a rarity.
'Those will be the only two places anyone can hear the EP. I'm excited to share that with these two venues,' she said.
'We do have a single that we're also debuting here that is coming out before the year is up,' said Colleen about the standalone single 'Outlaw,' which is planned for a November release.
The show's opening act is Nashville-based singer/songwriter Carter Winter, who released the single 'The Otherside,' which was co-written with Colleen, in May.
The Ohio native then teams with Colleen for an acoustic set, which includes his 2021 single 'Love Like I Drink,' which features Colleen, as well as unreleased material they wrote together.
'When it comes to writing for other artists, it's always a big privilege for me to learn about the artist and learn about phrasing and their way of telling stories. As a songwriter, you sit back and give ideas,' said Colleen, who wrote Winter's 2023 EP 'The Cold West, Pt. 1' with him.
'My last year of writing has been very personal so I haven't been writing for too many other artists.'
Colleen, who started writing songs at age 8, called Stephen Hunley and Eric Dodd, who are both from Nashville, her dream team writers.
'Those are two writers that have worked really hard (to find out) how a 28-year-old feels about things,' said Colleen, who added that she also enjoys writing with singer Carly Rogers.
Colleen composed 'Halos and Horns,' which she cited as one of her favorite songs, with Dodd and Hunley. The 2022 single was produced by Lee Brice (whom she featured on her popular single 'While We're Still Friends,' which was released in February), Jerrod Niemann and Cody LaBelle.
''Halos and Horns' really launched us into this cool sonic place. It took everything a step up for us. It was my first millionth Spotify face tat,' said Colleen, who had a horseshoe permanently inked on her face after the track hit 1 million streams on the digital music service.
After she performed the song on the music podcast 'The Bobby Bones Show' in 2022, red-hot singer and rapper Jelly Roll reached out to Colleen and that resulted in her being booked to open more than 15 dates on the final leg of his The Beautifully Broken Tour.
'It's such a privilege. 'Halos and Horns' has done a lot for me. It's one of the most authentic songs I had,' said Colleen, who started getting tattoos when she was 18 years old and now sports sleeves on each arm.
'I am so excited for that opportunity. That's going to be so insane. It's really cool. We have 30 minutes every night.'
Colleen plans to introduce 'Outlaw' to Jelly Roll's audience during her set, which also likely will include material from her debut album, 'Stones,' which she released in 2021.
'I love 'Stones,'' said Colleen about the 11-track release, which includes 'Playin' House,' 'Stones (I Don't Give A),' 'Don't Give Your Heart to a Cowboy,' 'Make Me a Man,' 'Pink Lemonade,' 'Only Oklahoma' and 'Blame It on the Weather,' one of the few songs she has written on her own.
'The narratives of 'Stones' really matter to me. 'Stones' reflects Allie Colleen as a songwriter really well. I'm still very proud of 'Stones.''

Music reviews: Morgan Wallen and Kali Uchis
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Credit Morgan Wallen's ongoing domination of Billboard's album chart this decade to "a particular strain of the modern American mood," said Maura Johnston in Rolling Stone. "The love-me-or-leave-me attitude that animates his glowering songs is as American as apple pie," and the country megastar's new two-hour album plays that particular tune about three dozen times. The 32-year-old Tennessee native knows he's misbehaved more than once when he's been drinking, and he never pretends he's about to change. Some people love that; some hate it. The haters may miss that Wallen's polished country rock is "well-crafted and hooky while not being immune to the occasional stylistic left turn." The 37 songs on I'm the Problem are "mostly about consequences, which also makes them interesting," said Amanda Petrusich in The New Yorker. Sure, some lines are "unbearably corny," and the music is "utterly faceless." But Wallen is almost always "singing out the ways love can sour," exuding "the unpredictable energy of a wounded animal." Besides, he has "a kind of uncanny magnetism that can elevate a mediocre song." Kali Uchis is "a master of atmosphere," said Mark Richardson in The Wall Street Journal. The Colombian American singer "makes music that hangs in the air like a cloud of smoke," whether she's mining hip-hop-inflected soul or Latin club music. On her lush fifth studio album, she "goes even deeper into dreaminess, landing in a place best described as ambient R&B." The opener, "Heaven Is a Home," is about love and family, but the "swooning effect" of Uchis' vocals mixing with 1950s-style strings is "so transporting that the lyrics are easy to miss." Give Sincerely a close listen, though, and you'll discover that the album contains "her most revealing lyrics yet," said Suzy Exposito in the Los Angeles Times. The 30-year-old Grammy winner wrote these songs while reconciling with her terminally ill mother and preparing to give birth herself, and each track reads like a letter to someone she has loved. Sincerely is mildly monotonous, "like other people's happiness can be," said Alfred Soto in Pitchfork. Still, Uchis can be counted on to deliver "candy-colored reveries and gossamer love-me-downs." In that realm, she "hits a peak on Sincerely."

Haider Ackermann Dials Up the Heat for His Second Snow Goose Collection
Canada Goose is flying south for the summer. To Lake Powell, Utah, that is. For Snow Goose by Canada Goose's second capsule collection, creative director Haider Ackermann gathered a group of 15 creatives on a desert exploration across the wide expanse of Utah's natural wonder. Set against the dry, oppressive heat is the cool touch of Ackermann's design, visible across details like the convertible neon wind pant zipped off and worn on the trip as shorts by model Erin Wasson and co-founder of System Magazine Elizabeth von Guttman. More from WWD EXCLUSIVE: Kaia Gerber Stars in Sarah Burton's First Givenchy Campaign Coach Debuts Coach Gold Feminine Fragrance With Fresh Campaign Starring Brand Ambassador Storm Reid EXCLUSIVE: Hailey Bieber's Rhode Taps 'Babygirl' Star Harris Dickinson for Glazing Mist Campaign The journey to Lake Powell is part two of the Toronto-based company's efforts to build buzzy brand moments. For the campaign, titled 'Wild Horizon,' model Lara Stone wears a cropped t-shirt, short shorts and over-the-knee wader boots — a far cry from the winter layers and down coats the brand is known for. The first Snow Goose campaign featured actor and activist Ethan Hawke, with an excursion to Iceland. Both campaigns were shot by Willy Vanderperre. 'The images are just a little disorienting; to make people pause and question their perceptions of what a collection for Canada Goose could look like, how it could be styled and photographed. We're playing with beauty, with freedom,' said Ackermann of the spring summer 2025 campaign imagery. 'When Haider and I first met, it was clear we were deeply aligned. He's passionate about the outdoors, about authenticity — he understands what makes Canada Goose, Canada Goose. That connection gave us the confidence to do something different together,' said Dani Reiss, chairman and chief executive officer of Canada Goose. In more breathable forms for this season, the archive-inspired Snow Goose pieces reflect Ackermann's vision for performance-driven, fashionable apparel that's suitable for temperatures above arctic conditions. 'There's real momentum behind our lightweight and summer-ready pieces. Our community is showing up, not just with interest but with confidence. They trust us to deliver beyond cold weather — and we're proving we do summer too,' said Reiss. According to the CEO, apparel is the fastest growing category ending in Q4 and fiscal year 2025 and of continued focus for the brand to enhance year-round relevance. 'Customers who enter our brand through apparel are more likely to come and shop with us again.' While the company declined to comment on sales figures for the Snow Goose line, Canada Goose overall brought in sales of 1.35 billion Canadian dollars for the year ended March 30. 'When we launched the capsule last fall, nearly two-thirds of [Snow Goose] purchases came from existing fans — which tells us it resonated deeply with our community while bringing in new audiences too. The momentum didn't stop there: it lifted mainline sales, drove U.S. brand search interest to a three-year high in December, and spiked social engagement,' disclosed Reiss. When asked how he measures the return on marketing campaigns beyond sales figures, Reiss explained that 'it's about how a bold campaign underpinned by incredible product can energize an entire brand. Snow Goose did exactly that.' He added that 'the impact went beyond numbers. Snow Goose marked a step-change in how we show up in the world. From the creative to the rollout, it's become our new blueprint. And we've heard from fans, editors, artists, and style leaders that not only did it connect with them — it made waves. We're showing up in the right places, with the right people, in the right way.' For fiscal year 2026, the brand will increase marketing spend, focus on upper-funnel programming and shift activity earlier in the year to build awareness ahead of peak season. For the next few years Reiss plans to grow Canada Goose intentionally while staying grounded. 'That means opening stores in the right places, evolving the experience in our existing locations, and making every consumer touchpoint a strong expression of the brand,' he said. Starting with the spring-summer 2026, Ackermann will also be designing the mainline collection. The Colombian-born, French designer became creative director of Canada Goose in 2024, with fall winter 2024 as his first capsule collection for the heritage line Snow Goose. Ackermann is also the creative director at Tom Ford. These tricked-out Irish castles are searching for American buyers
Want to be king of your own castle? Where better to do it than in Ireland, where the rugged landscape — and torrid history — has left a lasting legacy on the landscape: a near limitless supply of picturesque castles from all periods to suit all tastes. Helen Cassidy has carved out a niche as a local specialist in castle-brokering and said they're particularly popular with Americans. Yankee castle buyers aren't flighty browsers either — they like getting down to business. 'They're very focused and cut to the chase extremely quickly and do not like competition,' she said. She recalled walking up to a castle in Tipperary, in the pouring rain, with a tattooed and bearded buyer, ready to begin her sales patter. She turned around to see him in tears at the sight of the turrets. 'He said, 'Helen, it's perfect and here's the money.'' Keen to splash some cash like he did? Here's a trio of on-market options around the country to consider. The Fortwilliam Estate, Lismore, Co. Waterford 3 Stop and Astaire: The famed dancer's family once resided here. Courtesy of Knight Frank Price: Offers in excess of around $8 million Specs: This six-bedroom, four-bathroom property is on 216 acres, with 11,940 square feet of floor area with an additional four-bed, three-bath Fisherman's Cottage in the West Wing. The castle: Fortwilliam House was built in the Tudor Revival style in 1836, using local veined sandstone and was designed by the Cork-based Pain Brothers, who also masterminded Dromoland Castle and Adare Manor (both now luxury hotels). Previous residents include Adele Astaire, fleet-footed Fred's sister, and America socialite Mrs. Murray Mitchell, who ran a donkey sanctuary onsite in the 1990s. The area: Pack some fancy duds for the trip as neighboring Lismore Castle is owned by the British Duke of Devonshire. It's one of the toniest castles in the country and hosts the Blackwater Valley Opera Festival there in late May. There's superb salmon fishing in the river Blackwater, too. The numbers: Don't worry about monthly overheads: The estate has income-producing rental cottages, like the four-bedroom Steward's Cottage, plus fly-fishing and land rental which more than offsets the cost of the caretaker who looks after the property four days per week. If you want to renovate the interiors to your own liking, said agent Guy Craigie, budget between $163 to 380 per square foot. If you want to rent the entire estate out during season, per Craigie, expect around $21,700. Contact: Guy Craigie, Knight Frank Ballytarsna Castle, Cashel, Co. Tipperary 3 Rock out in this sturdy stunner close to St. Paddy's royal soul-saving site. Jonny Garvey Price: Around $1.08 million Specs: This three-bedroom, three-bathroom, measures 2,440 square feet and sits on 18 acres. There is a Great Hall with a large, 15th-century fireplace and the primary bedroom has views out across to the Rock of Cashel. The castle: Likely built in the mid-1500s, this is a later example of the tower-style house. The British ousted the family who built it, and the castle ended up in ruins. The current owners, who bought it in the late 1990s, spent 11 years restoring it to pristine condition including running a stonemason school there to help produce the pieces needed. The area: That Rock is one of Ireland's most spectacular treasures, with human history dating back 1,000 years — it's where St. Patrick converted King Aengus to Jesus, for one thing. The largest thoroughbred operations in the world, Coolmore, is also in this county. The numbers: Expect to spend around $650 per month on utilities and earn around $2,000 per weekend if you lease it out. It's move-in ready, but there's planning permission in place if you want to invest and extend. Contact: Helen Cassidy, Premier Properties Ireland Gowran Castle, Gowran, Co. Kilkenny 3 This turn-key keep is a towering achievement of ritzy restoration. Media Pro Price: Around $2.6 million for the castle, plus an optional extra $1.63 million for its equestrian center. Specs: This five-bedroom castle (with one extra bedroom in the gate lodge) sits on 14 acres with its own tree-lined avenue entrance. There's almost 7,900 square feet of livable space. The modern equestrian facilities include 10 stables, with a three-bedroom apartment upstairs and almost 54 acres of land. The castle: Though a castle was first built on this site by the Butler family in the early 14th century, it was a later 18th-century structure that forms the core of the current house, which was extensively rehabbed by architect William Robertson in the 1800s. The area: There's ample to distract horse-mad buyers beyond the equestrian center: racecourses including Clonmel, Curragh and Gowran Park are within easy reach — the latter's barely a quarter of a mile away. There's spectacular golf, too, via the Jack Nicklaus-designed Mount Juliet course, also home to the Michelin-endorsed Lady Helen restaurant. The numbers: The current spiffy condition's a result of major investment — the place was damaged when it was occupied by anti-treaty forces during the Irish Civil War a century ago; it was reroofed with new windows, heating and more so is for sale in move-in condition. Expect to pay $870 or so for electricity, and you could score a nightly payday of $1,370 if putting it up for rent. Contact: Josh Pimm, Savills
