The Women's Department of the Yemeni Islah Congregation in the interim capital, Aden, praised the prominent role played by Yemeni women in building the family and society, despite the difficult humanitarian and economic conditions that the country is going through.
The department stressed, in a statement issued today, Saturday, on the occasion of International Women's Day, that Yemeni women were and still are a symbol of steadfastness and sacrifice, contributing to the renaissance of society and bearing their responsibilities with all courage.
The statement published by the Islah Net website renewed the emphasis on supporting women's rights and the importance of empowering them and enhancing their participation in all fields, in a way that ensures building a more just and free society.
It appreciated the pioneering role of the Islah women, who contributed effectively to social and political reform, worked for national unity and women's rights, and played an important role in decision-making.
The statement touched on the living challenges facing the people of Aden, with the deterioration of basic services and the high cost of living, calling on the competent authorities to urgently intervene to find solutions that guarantee a decent life for citizens.
The department issued an urgent humanitarian appeal to address the issue of those forcibly disappeared in Aden, stressing the need to release them or bring them to fair trials, based on the principles of human rights and justice.
The Women's Department in Islah in Aden also paid tribute to every Yemeni woman who struggles for her rights and stands up to challenges, noting that empowering women is the cornerstone of achieving the desired change and reform.

Yemen : Houthis Launch Arrest Campaign in Sana'a over Use of "Starlink" Internet

Sana'a – June 11, 2025 The Houthi group has carried out a wave of arrests targeting dozens of civilians in the Yemeni capital, Sana'a, over the use of "Starlink" satellite internet devices, according to local human rights sources. Reports indicate that at least 54 people, including electronics shop owners, university students, and academics, were detained during raids across several districts such as Al-Sabeen, Ma'een, and Azal. The campaign also involved extensive searches and seizures of electronic equipment and the imposition of hefty fines on citizens. A human rights activist in Sana'a—speaking on condition of anonymity—stated that 'the Houthis aim to fully monopolize the communications sector and suppress any means of accessing the internet beyond their control.' In a controversial move, students and professors at the Faculty of Computer Science at Sana'a University were forced to attend events warning against the 'dangers of satellite internet,' a step that observers say violates academic freedom and amounts to a form of censorship. International and local human rights organizations have called for the immediate release of the detainees and the end of what they've described as a 'repressive campaign,' labeling the measures a blatant violation of human rights and freedom of expression. It's worth noting that satellite internet services like "Starlink" have gained popularity in regions suffering from poor connectivity or monopolized internet access, offering a vital lifeline for residents to stay connected with the outside world.

Ibb districts host rhetoric events for Day of al-Wilayah commemoration

Ibb – Saba: Rhetoric events were held on Wednesday across several Ibb governorate districts, including Dhi al-Sufal, al-Makhader, al-Qafr, Yarim, Jeblah, al-Saddah, and al-Naderah, to commemorate the Day of al-Wilayah (Guardianship). Speeches, attended by district directors and mobilization officials, emphasized the religious significance of the Day of Wilayah, marking Prophet Muhammad's declaration of Imam Ali's guardianship at Ghadir Khumm. They explained that Imam Ali's Wilayah is an extension of the Prophet's and God's Wilayah, representing a practical commitment to the divine message. Speakers stressed that allegiance to God, His Messenger, and Imam Ali protects the nation from its enemies, particularly Jews and Christians. The speakers urged the nation to return to this path to escape dependence and humiliation, attributing current subjugation to tyrannical regimes to the abandonment of guardianship. The speeches highlighted that the Yemeni people, by adhering to guardianship, have confronted global tyranny and actively supported Gaza without hesitation. They praised recent Yemeni military operations, including yesterday's alleged targeting of the Zionist entity with hypersonic missiles. Calls were made for Arab and Islamic peoples to fulfill their duty to support Gaza, urging them to disregard conspiring regimes that remain silent on ongoing massacres.
