North Adams man sentenced to prison for raping three-year-old
PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A North Adams man was sentenced to prison on Wednesday for multiple charges related to rape of a child.
'Upskirting' case involved multiple victims, Berkshire County DA urges update on Massachusetts law
Berkshire District Attorney's Office Chief of Operations Julia Sabourin shared in a news release that 29-year-old Austin Miller-Robinson was sentenced to 18 to 20 years in state prison for the charges of Aggravated Rape of a Child with Force and Rape and Abuse of a Child Aggravated by Age Difference.
This sentencing stems from an investigation beginning in 2019, in which Miller-Robinson raped a three-year-old child. He was found guilty on June 4.
'This is an important victory for the children and citizens of Berkshire County,' said Berkshire District Attorney Timothy Shugrue. 'I will always advocate for the strongest possible penalties under the law for anyone who harms our children.'

Springfield police seize guns, drugs in Garland Street raid
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Two illegal firearms, crack-cocaine, marijuana, and cash were seized during a search warrant executed on Garland Street in Springfield. In a news release sent to 22News from the Springfield Police Department, a several-months long investigation into a suspect, 50-year-old Howard Dukes of Springfield, allegedly distributing crack-cocaine led to a search warrant at his home on Garland Street. Piles of trash, furniture and uncut grass led citation sweep in Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Springfield police shared photos of two neighborhood ordinance sweeps that took place over the last week. On Thursday, the Springfield police ordinance unit conducted a 'park and walk' sweep in the South End and lower Belmont Avenue area. There were 37 ordinance citations, seven parking tickets, five unregistered vehicles towed and 17 citations issued by code enforcement. One arrested after crashing into police cruisers on I-291 in Springfield On Wednesday, June 4th, a sweep was conducted in the area of Putnam Circle and police issued 75 ordinance citations, nine parking tickets and towed two vehicles. Forty-three citations were issued by code enforcement. Land maintenance is the responsibility of the homeowner. The ordinance unit is encouraging residents to follow the city's 'Good Neighbor Handbook,' to avoid code enforcement violations. Motorcyclist suffers serious injuries following crash on River Street in West Springfield
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after crashing on River Street in West Springfield on Thursday. The West Springfield Police Department states that River Street is closed in the area of Sears Way from Park Street to Baldwin Street. It was reported that a motorcyclist struck a telephone pole. When officers arrived, a man operating a motorcycle was found with serious, life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital by the West Springfield Fire Department. West Springfield police seek identity of woman who allegedly left salon without paying The road is closed while the accident reconstruction team conducts an investigation. 22News will update this story as soon as additional information is released.
