Confiex launches platforms for streamlined procurement and audit

Private Limited, a virtual data room provider in India, recently announced the launch of DocullyVDR E–Tender and DocullyVDR E–Audit. These enterprise-class solutions are designed to improve procurement and auditing processes across India's public and private sectors. The introduction of these platforms occurs as India implements the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act and increases scrutiny of procurement and audit practices. Confiex states that these tools offer improved transparency, accountability, and speed in governance workflows.
Harvinder Singh, Founder and CEO of Confiex Data Room, said the company aims to reduce friction, prevent information leaks, and build a culture of audit readiness and competitive fairness with these platforms. He noted that the solutions are customized for India, based on its legal system, hosted in government-approved data centers, and built with data security.
DocullyVDR E–Tender provides an end-to-end system for managing tenders. It includes features for controlled RFP distribution, real-time Q&A, encrypted bid submissions, and centralized evaluation, intended to limit manipulation or insider influence.
Singh also emphasized the significance of data sovereignty for India's digital future, citing the rise in cyberattacks. He explained that Confiex uses MEITY-approved Microsoft Azure Data Centres to ensure compliance with Indian regulations and provide security features that give organizations better control over their sensitive data.

There are nearly 7,000 active women-led startups in India. The number may seem huge, but it is only 7.5% of the total pool, according to data from Tracxn. In the tech space, these startups have so far collectively raised $26.4 billion, with 2021 attracting the most funds at $6.3 billion. Since then, the number of women-led startups and capital raised by them has consistently declined. The gaps in the tech landscape being headlined by GenAI are already visible. A recent BCG Report said that in India, there are 65% more male executives in GenAI at the head or director level than female. At the junior level, women's representation is 33%, which drops to 19% at the senior level. But there are signs of a shift. Societal biases around maternity, lack of confidence in visionary leadership and access to resources have weighed down the progress of women entrepreneurs. In a fast-evolving technology like GenAI, gender equity is not only seen as an economic prospect but also a strategic need. And being the only woman in a room doesn't help. The need for bridging the gap is now when the ecosystem is still shaping up. Nasscom highlighted how generative AI could be a driver to this change. As per its survey, 90% of women leaders view it as crucial for career advancement, with 95-100% willing to invest extra time in mastering these technologies.

Labour law can't be rendered illusory, says HC, directs Aavin to pay costs of 20K
Chennai: Coming to the aid of 1,100 workmen of Aavin, who were contesting multiple legal battles against their termination for over 45 years, has asserted that Aavin cannot be allowed to render the protective framework of labour legislation illusory. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Justice A D Maria Clete dismissed the appeals moved by Tamil Nadu Co-operative Milk Producers Federation Limited against the orders passed by the labour court to reinstate the workmen and imposed 20,000 as costs in each of the appeals to be paid to the workers. "In the end, regardless of the political regime in power, no real solace was extended to the working class. They remained victims of a system where a powerful employer could dismiss them without due process," the judge said. All the 1,100 workers were terminated from service for participating in a one-day strike on Nov 19, 1980, without conducting any inquiry. The workers, through the employees' union, raised an industrial dispute before the state labour department. After two years, the govt refused to refer the dispute for adjudication under the Industrial Disputes (ID) Act. Aggrieved, the union moved the high court, which ruled in favour of the workmen in 1983. Claiming to be aggrieved by the order, both Aavin and the labour department moved appeals, which were dismissed by the high court. After five years, the govt issued two orders of reference. After a 'protracted trial' spanning 13 years, the industrial tribunal on Feb 17, 1997, held that the workmen, having been dismissed without the conduct of any inquiry, were entitled to reinstatement. However, the tribunal limited the award of back wages to 25%. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Aavin moved an appeal challenging the award, which was also dismissed by the high court in 2015. In the meantime, the workmen moved the labour court for computation of their back wages. Now, challenging the order passed by the labour court, Aavin has moved the high court. Dismissing the five petitions of Aavin, the court said, "This court now draws the curtain on a protracted legal battle that has spanned an extraordinary 45 years—a duration far too long for any ordinary workman to endure while seeking justice against a powerful employer. " The court then directed Aavin to pay costs of 20,000 in each of the writ petitions to the respective contesting workmen.
