Ignored Indian cricket team batter Prithvi Shaw, who went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction, was recently spotted with friends in his BMW car. Prithvi was once hailed as a major talent for Indian cricket but in recent times, lack of form and fitness issues has seriously dented his career. He was dropped from the Mumbai side due to fitness concerns and his last appearance was in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 where he once again disappointed with the bat. In the video going viral on social media, Prithvi was approached by some of his fans and he was also surrounded by some camerapersons.

Meanwhile, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh for teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi who scored record breaking century in the IPL 2025 on Monday.
The 14-year-old Bihar batter, playing for Rajasthan Royals, shattered the long-standing record for the fastest IPL century by an Indian, surpassing Yusuf Pathan 's 37-ball ton against Mumbai Indians in 2010 that had remained unbeaten for 15 years until Monday night.
In only his third IPL appearance, Suryavanshi hammered a sensational 101 off just 38 balls against Gujarat Titans in Jaipur, bringing up his century in just 35 deliveries - the fastest ever by an Indian in IPL history and the second-fastest overall, behind Chris Gayle 's legendary 30-ball century.
"Congratulations and best wishes to Vaibhav Suryavanshi of Bihar, who became the youngest player (14 years) to score a century in the history of IPL. He has become a new hope for Indian cricket on the strength of his hard work and talent. Everyone is proud of him. I met Vaibhav Suryavanshi and his father in 2024 at 1 Anne Marg and at that time I wished him a bright future," CM Nitish posted on X.
Nitish further revealed that he spoke with the teenager over phone after his historic knock and extended his best wishes to the youngster.
"After his brilliant performance in IPL, I also congratulated him over the phone. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a young cricketer from Bihar, will also be given an honorarium of Rs 10 lakh by the state government. I wish that Vaibhav creates new records for the Indian team in the future and brings glory to the country," he added.
In the mega auction held last year, Suryavanshi became the youngest to earn an IPL deal when RR signed him for Rs 1.1 crore.

However, a back injury in the Sydney Test, which later saw him miss the Champions Trophy, left the selectors concerned and subsequently dented his chances of taking over the reins in Test cricket. Speaking on the ICC Review, Ponting said BCCI was right in naming Gill as the captain because he felt India shouldn't have a captain who could be missing matches repeatedly due to injuries. He also urged the selectors to give Gill a lengthy rope as a captain. "I actually think it's the right move. I know there's a lot of other people out there, pundits out there saying they can't understand why it wasn't Bumrah and why they have gone to Shubman, but I think it's pretty simple," Ponting said. "Bumrah's injuries are holding him back a bit in the last couple of years and you don't want that with a captain. You can't have a captain coming in and missing games here and there. So I think it's the right decision. Now that they've made it, it's one they've got to stick with and give him a good crack at it for a long period of time." Having seen Gill from close quarters in IPL, where the youngster has been leading the Gujarat Titans squad since 2024, Ponting felt the timing to name him the Test captain couldn't have been better. "Even just looking back at the way he's handled this current GT team through this IPL, I think leadership sits really well with him," Ponting said. "And the important thing for me with leadership as well is if you're a batter and you're a captain, you have to be scoring runs. And Shubman is doing that in IPL and I think the timing is right. I think you'll have a good captain who'll make a lot of Test runs going forward."

The initial breakthrough came from Anshul Kamboj, who dismissed Ben McKinney (12) with an outswinger, caught by wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel. This dismissal came shortly after McKinney was given a reprieve at point in the eighth over. Despite consistent pressure from India A bowlers, the Lions managed to score freely. Gay faced challenging spells from the Indian bowlers, although batting conditions were more favourable compared to the first day's overcast weather and grassy pitch.
