VINTAGE CLARETS (7.35 Newcastle, nap)
Richard Fahey's flyer shaped like he was back in form at Epsom last time and won this race two seasons back from a similar mark. He has the high draw you so often need at this track over the sprint trips and being towards the rail can be a big help. There aren't many better apprentices around than Warren Fentiman and he takes a very handy 5lb off his back.
NOVELLO LAD (3.55 Doncaster, nb).
Oisin Murphy takes over in the saddle and he has won three of last four rides for canny trainer Paul Midgley. This four-year-old was just denied over this track and trip last time when hitting a bit of traffic and can go one better this time with conditions spot on again.
DIAMOND RAIN (7.05 Newcastle, treble)
Looks a sure thing for team Godolphin. She was a cut above her rivals in a Listed race last time and this doesn't look much trickier. Charlie Appleby didn't have the best of Royal Ascot's but his string continues to fly along in great nick.
THE FEMININE URGE (2.00 Yarmouth, Lucky 15)
She never had a chance at Wolves last time but was in flying form beforehand and this looks well within her radar.

‘You are the worst umpire I've seen' – Wimbledon star forces umpire to call SUPERVISOR after refusing to accept warning
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) WIMBLEDON star Alejandro Davidovich Fokina branded an umpire as the "worst I've seen" and called for their supervisor after being given a code violation at Eastbourne. Davidovich Fokina had just gone 5-4 down in the second set against Jakub Mensik when he smashed his racquet on the floor. That, predictably, did not improve his mood. And Davidovich Fokina then lost his temper towards the umpire and refused to accept the decision. During the change of ends, the Spaniard aggressively protested against the decision. READ MORE IN TENNIS ARE THEY COURTING? ‘UFC is dying' – Jake Paul brutally renews war of words with Dana White as UFC 317 and Chavez Jr fight go toe-to-toe
PAUL A JOKE 'UFC is dying' – Jake Paul brutally renews war of words with Dana White as UFC 317 and Chavez Jr fight go toe-to-toe Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) JAKE PAUL has claimed the UFC is "DYING" in a brutal blast at Dana White following the promoter's latest comments about him. Veteran promoter White inadvertently renewed his war of words with Paul last week when he claimed he didn't know the YouTuber-turned-boxer would be back in action this weekend. "Where the Dagestani fighters are winning everything by taking everyone to the ground." Paul, who hasn't shied away from taking shots at White down the years, is adamant the MMA mogul was fully aware of his upcoming fight. Argentine Tango waltzes to Newmarket success
Yet to finish outside the first two in her career to date, she headed south with some fine form to her name, including finishing second to Albany Stakes winner Venetian Sun on her penultimate start before winning Beverley's Hilary Needler Trophy later the same week. Sent off at 9-1 in the hands of David Allen, she put her experience to great use to battle her way to a narrow head victory over Ed Walker's Midnight Tango, with Richard Hughes' 6-4 favourite Bella Lyra a neck further back in third. Easterby said: 'She's just super tough and super game and just like her sire Mattmu, she's hard as nails. 'She'll go on any ground, soft or firm it wouldn't matter and she got the six furlongs well. 'If you look her form up she tried to give the Albany winner 6lb at Carlisle which was a hell of a run. She ran at Carlisle on the Monday and went to Beverley and won on Saturday, that's the type of horse she is. 'You can't believe how tough and hard she is and Mattmu was just the same, she has a massive heart and you can't give her a day off as she'll just buck them off, racing is like nothing for her.' With Listed success secured and having proven her liking for six furlongs on her first try at the distance, Easterby will now consult with the owners to plot a route forward with their hardy youngster, who now has three wins from five starts. 'We were just going down there today as we had no other options really,' continued Easterby. 'We had planned to skip Ascot and other than going to another fillies race where she could pick up a bonus but have a massive penalty, this was the obvious race and it was a very competitive field. 'We're open to ideas and will just decide as we go along, but you can't give her days off as she's so tough and hardy. 'We'll figure out a route and she's won a Listed race now which is great for a filly like her and great for the sire. She's bred by a top stud in Bearstone and they always come out of there tough, so we'll just keep going and see what there is and where we end up.'
