Gaza Hospital Warns of Life-Threatening Shortages Amid Ongoing Israeli Blockade
DayofPal— The director of the Kuwaiti Hospital in Rafah issued an urgent warning over critical shortages of essential medicines and food supplies for patients, as Gaza endures a crippling Israeli blockade that has now lasted for more than two months.
Suhaib Al-Hams, the hospital's director, described the humanitarian situation as dire, with the healthcare sector nearing collapse due to a lack of medical resources.
'We confirm that the sector suffers from acute shortages in more than 75% of essential medicines, a large part of which constitute life-saving medications, which is directly threatening the lives of the vast majority of patients,' Al-Hams said in a statement on Saturday.
He further warned that the hospital's ability to continue providing medical care is 'at stake,' citing that current medical stockpiles would not last beyond one week.
'The ability to continue providing medical services is at stake, as the available stock of medicines and medical supplies is currently insufficient for more than one week,' he said.
Al-Hams appealed to the international community for immediate intervention, urging the reopening of border crossings to allow the entry of medical and humanitarian aid. He also stressed the need to evacuate critically ill patients.
He called on 'all concerned parties to move immediately' to facilitate the entry of aid and added that the crossings must urgently open 'to evacuate patients who are slowly dying every day without treatment.'
Since March 2, Israel has kept Gaza's main crossings closed, halting the delivery of food, medicine, and other humanitarian supplies.
Human rights organizations have also condemned the blockade, accusing Israel of using starvation as a weapon of war against Palestinians.
The humanitarian crisis deepened further after Israel resumed its military offensive on March 18, breaking a ceasefire agreement reached in January.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, the renewed offensive has killed more than 2,200 people and wounded over 5,700 others, most of them women and children.
The United Nations has repeatedly warned of an impending humanitarian catastrophe, stating that the Gaza Strip is on the brink of 'full-scale famine conditions.'
On Friday, Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), said the ongoing Israeli siege is collectively punishing the population.
'The Israeli siege is collectively punishing children, women, older people and men in Gaza,' he said.

61 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in Gaza, including dozens aid seekers
DaysofPal – Israeli occupation forces killed at least 61 Palestinians in various parts of the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, according to medical sources, as attacks continue to target both civilian areas and aid distribution points amid a worsening humanitarian catastrophe. Health officials in Gaza confirmed that 39 of the victims were killed while waiting for humanitarian aid in central Gaza. Among them, 25 Palestinians lost their lives when Israeli forces opened fire near the Netzarim junction, south of Gaza City, in an area known to be a hub for food distribution coordinated by the United States and Israel. Witnesses and health workers described the attack as a deliberate strike against civilians desperately seeking food. Elsewhere in the Strip, the director of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital reported that eight Palestinians were killed and others injured in an Israeli airstrike on a residential home in Deir al-Balah. In a separate incident early Wednesday morning, four Palestinians were killed and over 90 injured when Israeli forces targeted displaced people waiting for aid along Salah al-Din Street, one of Gaza's main thoroughfares, according to medical personnel at Al-Aqsa Hospital. Further south, at least four Palestinians were killed in an Israeli drone strike on a tent sheltering displaced families in Al-Qarara, north of Khan Yunis. In the same region, Israeli aircraft and artillery also struck areas surrounding the Nasser Medical Complex, as well as the neighborhoods of Qizan Abu Rashwan and Al-Batin Al-Samin at dawn. Hospital sources confirmed that a total of 82 Palestinians have been killed since Tuesday morning, including 20 shot while trying to access humanitarian aid near the Netzarim junction and the Nablus roundabout west of Gaza City. On Tuesday evening, three paramedics and Palestinian journalist Momen Abu Al-Aouf were killed when Israeli forces targeted a medical rescue team attempting to retrieve the bodies of victims from a previously bombed home in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City. Humanitarian agencies and the Gaza Government Media Office have warned that Israel's continued closure of aid crossings, particularly those bringing food, has pushed 2.2 million Palestinians in Gaza into severe famine conditions. The United Nations has stated that this strategy amounts to deliberate starvation aimed at forcing displacement. Since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023, Israel, backed by the United States, has been committing acts of genocide in Gaza, including mass killings, enforced famine, systematic destruction of homes and infrastructure, and the forced displacement of hundreds of thousands. The ongoing campaign has left over 181,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, the majority of whom are women and children. More than 11,000 remain missing beneath the rubble. Entire neighborhoods have been erased, hospitals rendered inoperable, and access to food, water, and medical care has been nearly eliminated. Shortlink for this post:

IOF Kills 25 Civilians in New Massacre Near Gaza Aid Distribution Point
DaysofPal – Israeli occupation forces (IOF) committed yet another massacre on Wednesday morning, targeting starving Palestinian civilians who had gathered near an aid distribution site in the Netzarim area, south of Gaza City. The assault killed at least 25 people and injured dozens more. According to medical sources, Israeli forces opened fire on a crowd of civilians awaiting food aid near the Al-Nabulsi area and along the so-called 'Netzarim Corridor' in southwestern Gaza. The attack adds to an increasingly bloody toll of civilians killed while simply trying to survive under siege. Al-Shifa Hospital received 10 of the victims' bodies, while Al-Quds Hospital confirmed it had received 6 more and treated at least 95 people for injuries sustained in the attack. Witnesses described chaotic scenes of panic, with people fleeing for their lives after being fired upon while waiting for essential aid. This massacre follows closely on the heels of Tuesday's deadly incident, in which 36 civilians were shot and killed—also near the Netzarim Corridor—during a similar attempt to receive humanitarian supplies. Several of those wounded in that attack remain in critical condition. With these latest atrocities, the death toll from Israeli attacks near so-called 'U.S.-Israeli aid distribution centers' has now reached at least 180 Palestinians killed and over 1,500 wounded, according to local health authorities. The IOF continues its brutal campaign across the Gaza Strip with constant airstrikes and ground bombardments, exacerbating an already catastrophic humanitarian crisis. The siege has brought Gaza to the brink of famine, with civilians forced to risk their lives for a loaf of bread or a bag of flour. International aid agencies have repeatedly warned that the conditions in Gaza are incompatible with life. Yet, the deliberate targeting of aid seekers has become a grim hallmark of this war—turning supposed humanitarian corridors into death traps. Shortlink for this post:

Israeli Genocide Continues with Relentless Massacres of Starving Civilians in Gaza
DaysofPal – For the 612th consecutive day, the Israeli occupation continues its genocidal campaign against the Gaza Strip, marked by relentless aerial and ground assaults, widespread devastation, and systematic targeting of starving civilians in search of food aid. According to Gaza's Ministry of Health on Sunday, the death toll since October 7, 2023, has soared to 54,880 killed and 126,227 wounded—making this one of the deadliest sustained assaults on civilians in modern history. Since the intensification of Israel's military campaign on March 18, 2024, alone, over 4,603 people have been killed and 14,186 injured. On Monday morning, Al-Awda Hospital reported the arrival of 28 injured civilians after Israeli aircraft launched airstrikes and opened fire on people near an alleged 'aid distribution point' at the Nuseirat checkpoint in central Gaza. A day earlier, 13 civilians were killed and several others wounded after Israeli forces opened fire on thousands waiting for food assistance at a U.S.-established aid center west of Rafah. In a separate incident, three civilians were killed and others wounded in an airstrike on a group in the Nuseirat refugee camp. The Israeli military also bombarded multiple areas on Sunday and Monday: Eastern Al-Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City faced intense artillery and airstrikes. Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Younis, was targeted amid continuous shelling. In northern Gaza, an airstrike hit a residential home near Hamza Mosque in Jabalia al-Nazla, resulting in more casualties and extensive destruction. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health has issued an urgent warning: Gaza's remaining hospitals are on the brink of total shutdown due to a critical fuel shortage, which could soon halt life-saving generators and medical equipment—putting thousands of patients and injured civilians at immediate risk. All of this is unfolding under a near-total Israeli blockade that has collapsed the humanitarian infrastructure in Gaza. Aid trucks are blocked, food is scarce, medical supplies are dwindling, and civilians are being deliberately targeted, even at aid points designated by international actors. The ongoing siege and massacres are not random acts of violence but form part of a calculated, systematic war against a besieged civilian population—what many legal experts and international observers now call an ongoing genocide. This sustained campaign of starvation, displacement, and mass killing represents one of the darkest chapters in modern Palestinian history, and continues to unfold with impunity as much of the world watches in silence.
