Storm Team 3: Hot and stormy weekend, hotter afternoons next week
The hot and stormy pattern will continue into the weekend for the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry.
Sub-tropical moisture continues to flow into the southeast due to a strong Bermuda high. This deeper moisture will lead to scattered rain and storms. Rainfall rates will be in excess of 1-2″ per hour at times, leading to localized flooding concerns in areas with poor drainage.
The best timing for storms on Saturday and Sunday will be between noon and the early evening, during the peak heating hours. Rain chances will begin to decrease once temperatures begin to cool off near sunset.
The extra moisture over the region will make conditions feel much hotter over the coming days. Heat index values will be over 103°F at times.
The heat index is the temperature that your body senses because higher humidity makes it harder for your body to cool off.
Heat index values over 100°F can be dangerous and may lead to heat exhaustion and heat stoke if you do not take precautions to cooldown and to stay hydrated while engaging in outdoor activities.
Even hotter conditions are expected next week when compared to what we expect for the weekend due to lower rain and storm chances Tuesday through Friday.

Hot and humid Father's Day weekend with chances of storms in Dallas, Fort Worth
Father's Day weekend in North Texas is starting out hot. High temperatures will top out in the low 90s on Saturday, but the heat index will reach triple digits dew points in the 70s. Saturday will be a great day to go to the pool. However, cloud cover will be increasing and there is a chance for an isolated shower or storm during the day. Father's Day will also be hot and humid. If plans include taking dad to the golf course, try to get an early tee time. Temperatures will climb into the lower 90s in the afternoon, but the feels-like temperature will be in the triple digits once again. There is a chance for storms on Father's Day. The activity will likely start in the morning northwest of the Metroplex and move southeast throughout the day. As of the latest forecast, the Metroplex could see some showers and storms around lunchtime. Isolated strong to severe storms will be possible, with the primary risk of wind speeds 50 to 60 mph. A high pressure system will settle over North Texas next week, keeping precipitation chances minimal and slightly warmer than average temperatures in the mid-90s.

Comfortable weather for the weekend before summer-like weather returns
LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Quiet weather is in the forecast for this weekend, but as we head into the upcoming work week, the chance for heat, humidity, and storms increases. We started the weekend with some cloudy skies and rain showers to the south along the state line. Because of this, we had some drizzle down towards Hillsdale and Jackson this morning with decreasing clouds as you got closer to Lansing. Today we see partly to mostly sunny skies with temperatures a little cooler than where they should be only getting into the mid-70s area-wide. Clear skies stick with us tonight with temperatures into the low to mid 50s. So we have at least one more night of open windows before using the air conditioners through the upcoming work week. Temperatures warm up for Father's Day into the low 80s with mostly sunny skies. We will also start to feel the heat and humidity increase as well. Overnight lows for Sunday remain in the upper 50s. We start to feel like summer as we head into the upcoming work week with daytime highs into the low to mid 80s with dew points into the mid to upper 60s. Heading into mid-week showers and storms return for Tuesday with the best chance to see rain looking to be Wednesday. We are closely keeping an eye on the forecast for Wednesday as there is the potential for stronger storms. Keep checking back throughout the weekend and start of the work week for more information!
