Most celebrities prefer to keep their personal lives as private as possible, particularly if they are K-pop idols. After frightening experiences with sasaengs, it is hardly surprising that these artists choose to remain silent on deeply personal matters. That said, many are happy to share moments of bonding with their pets.
Speaking of pets, fans discovered something new about ZEROBASEONE (제로베이스원) member Matthew (석매튜). During a recent livestream, the idol could no longer keep his furry friend a secret after it 'attacked' him from behind. Here's what happened:
Earlier this week, Matthew hosted a livestream to show off his Pokémon card collection. However, throughout the broadcast, fans noticed odd sounds in the background, such as meowing and movement behind the singer. The 23-year-old appeared to brush it off and made efforts to keep the mysterious guest out of sight.
Unfortunately for him, the cat was out of the bag (quite literally). Just as he was about to showcase a Pokémon card, two paws appeared around the idol's neck, and the look of defeat on his face made it clear he could no longer keep it a secret. He made a few final attempts to hide his furry friend before finally giving in and introducing his cat to fans with a few hugs and kisses. The moment quickly went viral on social media, with many surprised to learn that the K-pop artist has a cat, something he had never shared publicly.
Not long after the livestream ended, Matthew took to Weverse to officially introduce fans to his Siamese cat, Gia, short for Lugia, after the legendary Pokémon also known as the Guardian of the Seas. He revealed that he had only recently adopted him.
Fans reacted to the viral moment, with many describing the livestream as chaotic as they watched the idol try to hide his pet. Others commented on how adorable the singer and his cat looked together on camera. Some were entertained by how Gia appeared to 'attack' his human companion from behind to reveal himself to the audience.
Judging by his attempts, it was clear that Matthew was not ready to share Gia with the rest of the world, but his cat had other plans, so it seems. Regardless, fans will no doubt be looking forward to more Gia content in the future.

Khaby Lame detained in Las Vegas immigration incident, leaves US

He has over 162 million followers on TikTok alone. 12 Jun 2025 04:09pm The 25-year-old rose to international fame during the pandemic without ever saying a word in his videos, which would show him reacting to absurdly complicated "life hacks." - Photo source: Khaby Lame/FB NEW YORK - Khaby Lame, the widely popular TikTok personality with millions of followers, has left the United States after being detained by immigration agents in Las Vegas for allegedly overstaying his visa, Xinhua reported. The Senegalese-Italian influencer, whose legal name is Seringe Khabane Lame, was detained on Friday at Harry Reid International Airport but was allowed to leave the country without a deportation order, a spokesperson for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed in a statement. Demonstrators wave American flags and a Mexican flag above the 101 freeway as protests against ICE immigration raids continue in the city on June 11, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by MARIO TAMA / GETTY IMAGES NORTH AMERICA / Getty Images via AFP) Lame arrived in the United States on April 30 and "overstayed the terms of his visa," The Associated Press on Wednesday quoted the ICE spokesperson as saying. The 25-year-old rose to international fame during the pandemic without ever saying a word in his videos, which would show him reacting to absurdly complicated "life hacks." He has over 162 million followers on TikTok alone. "His detainment and voluntary departure from the United States comes amid President Donald Trump's escalating crackdown on immigration, including raids in Los Angeles that sparked days of protests against ICE, as the president tests the bounds of his executive authority," noted the report. A voluntary departure, which was granted to Lame, allows those facing removal from the United States to avoid a deportation order on their immigration record, which could prevent them from being allowed back into the country for up to a decade. - BERNAMA-XINHUA More Like This
