The plan also encompasses the widening of the Sundarpada-Jatni road and the construction of three flyovers at strategic locations — Kalpana Square, Museum Square and Sishu Bhawan Square. An underpass at AG Square is also in the pipeline, sources said.
"To further enhance connectivity, a left parallel road is planned from the Institute of Mathematics to Ekamra Kanan via Pathargadia, Utkal Hospital and Rail Vihar.
The development plan includes three right access roads connecting various parts of the city and an inner ring road," a govt statement read.
It stated these developments will not only address the growing traffic concerns but also enhance the city's overall aesthetics. The govt has also announced a rehabilitation package for around 366 families who will be displaced by the projects.
