King's Mother's Day message: Honour and serve your mother every day
KUALA LUMPUR: The King and Queen of Malaysia, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, have extended their Mother's Day wishes to all mothers.
In a post on Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar's official Facebook page, His Majesty also conveyed his personal wishes to Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah.
His Majesty said that a mother's sacrifices and devotion should be honoured not just on a specific day, but every day.
"As emphasised in the Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad, the mother holds a noble status, and Allah has commanded us to treat her with kindness.
"Serving one's mother is a virtue, for paradise lies beneath her feet," the post read.
His Majesty said that he is always grateful to Allah SWT for blessing him with a wife who is devoted to their children.
"Raja Zarith's immense sacrifice and love in raising our children is truly cherished."
He also prayed for blessings upon his late mother, Enche' Besar Hajah Khalsom Abdullah, and the late Raja Perempuan Muzwin.
"Al-Fatihah," he wrote.
Mother's Day is celebrated worldwide on the second Sunday of May each year.
