Nagpur: In a major technological boost to its water supply system, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and Orange City Water Pvt Ltd (OCW) have begun deploying high-tech pipeline inspection tools — Pushcam and Robocam — to detect internal faults, obstructions, and illegal connections in the city's vast underground water network.
These devices, including the Endo 90 Robocam, Small Pushcam, and Big Pushcam, are capable of scanning pipelines ranging from 90mm to 250mm in diameter. They are equipped with high-resolution sensors and navigation capabilities that allow them to inspect even the most inaccessible sections of pipelines laid beneath busy city roads. This technology enables engineers to detect accumulated debris, rust, cracks, silt deposits, and leak points without any need for large-scale excavation.
Low water pressure and contamination complaints from residents are now being addressed more swiftly. Instead of relying on trial-and-error digging or lengthy surveys, these cameras provide live visual feedback from within the pipes, pinpointing the exact location of obstructions or leakages. This not only ensures quicker rectification but also minimises disruption to road traffic and residents.
Officials say the initiative is already showing results.

The cameras have helped uncover long-standing issues such as illegal connections, pipeline deterioration, and sediment build-up that went undetected for years. The result: better pressure management, cleaner supply, and significant savings on maintenance costs.
Contaminated water — often caused by outdated connections or undetected cracks — is a major health hazard. With Pushcam and Robocam's ability to trace contamination sources, the city aims to reduce the risk of waterborne diseases and boost consumer confidence in tap water.
The NMC and OCW are now planning to expand the use of these devices across all zones of the city to ensure routine pipeline health checks and preventive maintenance.

No merchant discount rate on UPI transactions

New Delhi: The government is fully committed to promoting digital payments via Unified Payment Interface (UPI), the finance ministry said Wednesday, adding there will be no merchant discount rate (MDR) on UPI transactions . MDR is a rate charged to a merchant for the payment processing of debit and credit card transactions. "Speculation and claims that the MDR will be charged on UPI transactions are completely false, baseless and misleading," it said in a statement, adding that such speculations cause needless uncertainty, fear and suspicion among the citizens. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Bank Owned Properties For Sale In Damai Bahagia (Prices May Surprise You) Foreclosed Homes | Search ads Search Now Undo To promote digital transactions, MDR was made zero from January 2020 for RuPay debit cards and BHIM-UPI transactions through amendments in Section 10A of the Payments and Settlement Systems Act, 2007 and Section 269SU of the Income Tax Act, 1961. To support the payment ecosystem participants in effective delivery of services, "Incentive scheme for promotion of RuPay debit cards and low-value BHIM-UPI transactions (P2M)" has been implemented, the government said in March. Only UPI (P2M) transactions up to ₹2,000 for small merchants are covered under the scheme.

Trump vs Musk: Decoding Donald Trump's mellow reply to Elon Musk's tweets; as Tesla CEO apologises

Elon Musk blinked. But Donald Trump didn't gloat, rage, or retaliate—at least not in the traditional sense. Speaking on Pod Force One, in an interview recorded before Musk posted his now-viral apology on X, Trump struck a curiously restrained tone. Asked about Musk's online attacks—including criticism of Trump's signature legislation—Trump said he had 'no hard feelings,' and that he believed Musk 'feels very badly that he said that, actually. ' 'I was disappointed in him, but, you know, it is what it is,' the president added. 'That happens. Things like that happen. I don't blame him for anything. I was a little disappointed.' And when asked if reconciliation was possible: 'I guess I could, but we have to straighten out the country.' On the surface, it sounded like classic diplomatic understatement. But in the Trumpian lexicon, this was not so much an olive branch as a casual display of dominance. To decode it properly, one must rewind the tape—not just of the podcast, but of the relationship itself. The Bromance That Burned Out If American politics is a reality show, Trump and Musk were once its power couple. One sold steaks and slogans; the other sold rockets and chaos. Together, they formed a populist-tech alliance that was both absurd and effective—Trump giving Musk institutional clout, Musk lending Trump Silicon Valley swagger. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo The partnership crystallised in mid-2024, after an assassination attempt on Trump led Musk to shift from critic to donor. He poured nearly $300 million into the Republican war chest, joined the cabinet as head of the meme-friendly Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and helped package Trumpism for the techno-libertarian crowd. 'I love Donald Trump, as much as a straight man can,' Musk once declared. At one point, Trump even had Space Oddity played at a Mar-a-Lago fundraiser as tribute. From Rocket Boost to Recoil But bromances forged on mutual flattery tend to combust under scrutiny. Friction first appeared over immigration policy—Musk defending H-1B visas; Trump's base branding him a globalist Trojan horse. Then came tariffs. Then came 'One Big Beautiful Bill,' Trump's flagship tax-and-spending legislation. Musk didn't just disagree with it. He denounced it—publicly and repeatedly. He warned it would cripple innovation, gutted EV subsidies, and offered no relief to high-tech manufacturers. His posts grew sharper, more personal, culminating in mid-meeting outbursts at the White House and tweets implying Trump might be linked to the Epstein files. 'Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files,' Musk posted. 'That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!' He even reposted calls for Trump's impeachment and suggested JD Vance should replace him as president. Trump's Calculated Calm So, why the mellow tone from Trump? The answer lies not in kindness, but in strategy. By casting Musk as the one who 'feels badly,' Trump positioned himself as the steady hand—above drama, beyond the digital noise. He didn't need to insult Musk. He'd already reasserted dominance by sounding forgiving, even fatherly. The president's restraint also serves a broader goal: keeping the tech world on notice without alienating donors completely. By saying 'I guess I could [reconcile], but we have to straighten out the country,' Trump turned personal drama into national purpose. The message: I'm too busy saving America to entertain tantrums from billionaires. Postscript: The Gospel of Ego The Trump-Musk fallout is more than a spat. It's a rupture between two avatars of American exceptionalism—one who tweets from a podium, the other from a launchpad. Since the feud began, Musk has withheld $100 million in promised donations. Trump pulled NASA nominations and hinted at contract terminations. Markets have shaken. Memes have flown. But at its core, the split is philosophical: Trump demands loyalty; Musk demands autonomy. Neither man is wired to submit. So when Trump says 'no hard feelings,' what he really means is: I've already won this round. The apology was confirmation. And Musk? He may have SpaceX. But Trump still owns the stage.
