Liverpool star to agree transfer reunion after two arrivals in huge shake-up

Daily Mirror9 hours ago

Liverpool's goalkeeping department is undergoing huge change this summer, and Czech stopper Vitezslav Jaros is on the verge of becoming the second first-team keeper to depart
Liverpool goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros will team up with former Reds assistant coach John Heitinga at Ajax with a loan move close to being agreed for the 23-year-old.
Czech goalkeeper Jaros served as third-choice stopper for the Reds in the past season, making two appearances for the first-team.

Last October he came on for the final 11 minutes of the 1-0 Premier League victory at Crystal Palace following an injury to Alisson Becker, with Caoimhin Kelleher absent at Selhurst Park through illness. He followed that up by playing the full 90 minutes as the Reds beat Brighton 3-2 in the Carabao Cup later that same month.

Heitinga has now identified Jaros as the perfect addition to his goalkeeping ranks after joining Ajax as the new head coach, and he'll be eyeing the No.1 spot after 41-year-old veteran Remko Pasveer played 43 times in the past season in all competitions.
The loan will be Jaros' fifth away from Liverpool, but the first since he has tasted first-team football for the Reds. He has previously had temporary stints at St Patrick's Athletic in Ireland, Football League pair Notts County and Stockport County and Austrian side Sturm Graz, where he won a league and cup double.
Jaros is expected to sign a new long-term contract at Anfield prior to making the move to Amsterdam, with his switch coming at a time of huge change in the goalkeeping ranks at Anfield.
With Kelleher having joined Brentford in an £18m deal this summer, Georgia international Giorgi Mamardashvili will link up with the Reds a year after agreeing his move from Valencia.
Mamardashvili is primed to serve as Alisson's deputy in the coming season, with the No.3 role perhaps taken by new arrival Armin Pecsi, with the 20-year-old having completed a £1.5m move from Hungarian side Puskas Akademia last week.

There are high hopes for the Hungary under-21 international, with his compatriot and new Reds team-mate Dominik Szoboszlai revealing his role in the move.
Speaking to Hungarian outlet Nemzeti Sport about his message to Pecsi, Szoboszlai said: 'I say, come there and enjoy it!
'Work hard every day, I think you know exactly what your goal is, you're determined enough; otherwise, you wouldn't have gotten to the club. Hard work will pay off in time.'

Premier League star 'buys SIX flats in one day' - as the midfielder looks to expand his budding property empire

A Premier League footballer has expanded his property portfolio by buying six flats in a single day. The 30-year-old runs a successful buy-to-let business with more than a dozen homes and recently spent £1.6million to expand his budding empire. According to a report from The Sun, Bournemouth star Ryan Christie purchased the apartments in Glasgow back in April. The Scotland international runs Twenty Two Investment Properties Ltd alongside his partner, Georgina Bell, 30. The six properties - situated near the River Clyde in the Scottish city - represented a seven-figure outlay for the couple. Records note that the pair, who are reportedly set to marry this summer, purchased the flats at £275,000, £220,000, two at £215,000, and £175,000 and £160,000 on April 28. Christie missed much of the latter half of Bournemouth's campaign with a groin injury but was still named the Cherries' Player of the Season as Andoni Iraola's side recorded a top-half finish. 'Ryan's work rate is quite incredible. He was player of the season, has undergone surgery and it also looks like he is due to get married,' a source told The Sun. 'But he still found time to splash a fortune on half-a-dozen homes.' Christie joined Bournemouth from Celtic in 2021 and was instrumental in leading the club to the Premier League in his first season on the south coast. Since then the midfielder has racked up 98 top flight appearances for the club, scoring three goals.

Peter Schmeichel's new Playboy model wife after Man Utd legend's difficult announcement

Peter Schmeichel's new Playboy model wife after Man Utd legend's difficult announcement Peter Schmeichel is back on UK TV screens this weekend as part of Soccer Aid, with the former goalkeeper trading his gloves for a tactics board as manager of the World XI Peter Schmeichel divorced first wife Bente in 2013 (Image: Corbis via Getty Images ) Manchester United icon Peter Schmeichel is no stranger to an eye-catching transfer having joined their neighbours Manchester City. The treble-winning shot stopper enjoyed huge success with the Red Devils, establishing himself as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all-time. But he departed after their famous 1999 Champions League triumph, a decision he's since admitted was a mistake. ‌ His subsequent move to City in 2002 also raised eyebrows, with Gary Neville memorably snubbing him in the tunnel when the two sides met. But both return to Old Trafford for Soccer Aid this weekend with any wounds long healed. ‌ Neville is part of the England squad set to take on the World XI, who Schmeichel will be managing. The Dane, 61, will be back in familiar surroundings at the Theatre of Dreams, but it'll be a different woman cheering him on than the one he was married to during his playing career. Why did Peter Schmeichel get a divorce? Schmeichel met his wife Bente when they were just teenagers. They married young and went on to have two children together - daughter Cecile, and his more well-known offspring, son Kasper. He followed in his father's footsteps, going on to miraculously win the Premier League with Leicester City in 2016. But by that point, his parents had split up. Article continues below Schmeichel announced in 2013: "After 31 years of living together, I am sorry to have to inform you that Bente and I'm in the process of separation negotiations. The pair had been married 31 years (Image: UK Press via Getty Images ) "It has been a very difficult decision, but in the circumstances we feel good. We agree that our family has the highest priority, and we hope that the media will respect our privacy, and that we have no further comment." ‌ He didn't disclose the reasons for their split, but it was believed to be a mutual decision after their relationship grew strained. It didn't take long for Schmeichel to find love again. Who is Peter Schmeichel married to? A year later he began dating Laura von Lindholm, a former Playboy model turned nutritionist who's nine years his junior. 'I met Laura in a period where I was making changes in my life,' he told BBC's Desert Island Discs. Schmeichel is now married to former model Laura von Lindholm (Image: Adam Davy/PA Wire ) ‌ 'I fell in love and we had a little getaway in London and I didn't want the public to know that I was in a new relationship. I wanted to keep a low profile so I was wearing a scarf and a hat and everything. "And Laura's looking at me and she's saying, 'How famous are you?' Laura didn't know anything about football and she's kind of ridiculing me a little bit.' She soon realised the scale of his fame when a group of builders saw through Schmeichel's disguise and shouted out his name. He continued: 'And then we go to the Champions League final in Milan and this little guy comes up to me. ‌ After a period of separation, they reunited and wed (Image: Instagram/lvonl ) "I've never met him in my life, but I know it's Phil Collins. I never met him but he's a big Man U fan… And Laura is next to me and she's completely, I mean she's completely, gobsmacked." However, it wasn't plain sailing for his second serious relationship either, as he and Laura broke up in 2017 before rekindling and swiftly deciding to tie the knot, getting married later in 2019. It took place in front of 200 guests at the Egebaeksvang Church in Espergaerde, Copenhagen. Article continues below Schmeichel has a house in the town, although he's often on location around Europe for CBS Sports' Champions League coverage. And he's been back in England this week gearing up for Soccer Aid and whipping his World XI squad into shape.
