The brand may be known for its lingerie and adult toys, but it's really been killing the fashion game recently - and its latest drop is no different
Festival season is officially here - and if you've bagged tickets to Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, Download, Isle of Wight, or one of the other popular weekend events, you'll know that sorting your outfit is just as crucial as the lineup. Fashion editor Rachel Pugh has been hunting for the perfect ensemble, and stumbled upon options in a rather unexpected place: Ann Summers.
She said: 'The brand is smashing it with its glitzy, dancefloor-ready collection. From sequin-adorned bodysuits to faux leather shorts, it's got all the elements for a main-stage moment - and some of it is even on sale.' reports the Manchester Evening News.
One of her top picks was the brand's Flashing Lights Sequin Body, now £27.20 (was £34). She commented: 'In an electric pink and dripping in sparkle, it's practically made for dancing under the stage lights. It's bold, fun and cheeky, with a plunging back and mesh thong bum. Pair it with denim cut-offs, or go full throttle and wear it solo with a pair of knee-high boots.'
If you're feeling particularly daring, the Eternal Rainbow Suit is another option. Now reduced to £28.80 from £36, it's crafted from rainbow lace and mesh instead of a solid colour, giving it a dreamy vibe. It also has underwired cups for extra support and adjustable shoulder straps for comfort.
'With a piece this eye-catching, keep the rest of your outfit simple,' said Rachel. 'Think black shorts and chunky combat boots to let the bodysuit do all the talking.'

Elsewhere, Jaded London is set to be your new go-to for festival outfits with knockout styles including standout cargo trousers and co-ord sets that will have you channelling headliner vibes. 'I bagged myself a pair of beige parachute trousers to wear at the Lido Festival in London over the weekend,' Rachel commented. Otherwise, Motel Rocks is another option. Known for its bold prints, sheer layering and y2k party-girl energy, it's perfect for a muddy field.
Back at Ann Summers, there are also some great short options available. Festival-goers can go full glam with a diamante-detailing pair or keep it classic with a plain black version - both £28.
The brand's festival range has not yet received many reviews, although a couple of people have commented on the diamante shorts. One person said: "Really pretty. The material is thin, which is perfect for summer. I love the bling detail on the chains.
"I recently went from 16 to 14, and I am choosing size medium more often. I went with a size large on this one so that my belly doesn't stick out. They are a bit large, but I love how they make me look as if I have room."
When scouring Ann Summers site for criticism, results seem scarce, yet there's a grumble or two about their delivery service found on TrustPilot, with one customer posting: "I placed an order which was cancelled a week later. No reason was given; the email stated that if I still wanted the products, I should place a new order."
Speaking on the festival edit, Rachel concluded: 'Ann Summer has officially entered its festival fashion era - and I want it all.' Shoppers can view the entire range here.

ITV Love Island fans issue same complaint minutes into 2025 series as show has major twist

The ITV2 dating show was back on screens for its 10th anniversary run Love Island 's highly-anticipated wait was over on Monday night, June 9, as the popular ITV2 reality dating show returned to screens. A fresh batch of hopefuls descended into the villa looking to find love. However just minutes into the show, fans were already left close to switching off their screens in frustration all for the same reason. With the series marking its 10th anniversary, expectations are set high for this year's programme. ‌ There was a fresh new twist in store for the Islanders, as host Maya Jama returned in a sensational entrance. In true Love Island expected style, she announced things would work slightly differently at the first re-coupling around the firepit. ‌ Maya, 30, quizzed the girls on their dating expectations, before revealing "things are slightly different" this year. Speaking to the girls, she said: "You've told me what your type on paper is, but does that match your ideal man in reality? Come and join me by the pool." The TV star then explained how the new series will differ from previous editions, as reported by the Manchester Evening News. She said: "Girls, in front of you there are six love hearts and each boy has given me their dating profile which is written on each of these hearts - shall we have a look at what these boys have to offer?" The boards introduced the girls to this year's male Islanders - Ben, Dejon, Harry, Conor, Blu, and Tommy - through a series of profiles. The girls were then asked to select their male partners based on the snippets of information they were given. Each girl was only allowed to select one guy and after their decisions were made, the male Islanders made their way into the Love Island villa. But it was before Maya even stepped foot in the villa for the first time this series that Love Island fans had a complaint, saying they were "sick of it". ‌ Taking to Twitter, one fan said: "8 minutes in to #LoveIsland and I'm already sick of the screaming." @fieldaysea commented: "The screaming coming from my TV, it's being muted #loveisland." Another wrote: "Never been so grateful for the mute button petition to ban screaming next year #LoveIsland." A third posted: "The start of the season is always PAINFUL bc of all the damn screaming #LoveIsland." ‌ Someone else shared: "I can't bare the screaming #LoveIsland." @xEllie24_ added: "All this screaming on entering the villa is so unnecessary, your not 10 ffs!! #LoveIsland." Meanwhile ahead of tonight's show on Tuesday, June 10, one girl is said to be sent packing following the brutal new twist after the ITV show alluded to an exit during its closing scenes. Fans can tune in again at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.

GMB star forced to seek medical attention after terrifying incident at protest

Good Morning Britain reporter Noel Phillips revealed he was left injured while reporting live from Los Angeles Good Morning Britain's own Noel Phillips has opened up about a distressing injury he sustained while covering the chaos live from Los Angeles, leading to his need for medical treatment. ITV's morning show returned on Tuesday (10 June) with co-hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley taking charge of the broadcast. ‌ They connected with Noel, GMB's North America correspondent, through a video call as he has been covering the explosive riots in Los Angeles. ‌ Susanna queried Noel about his recent experience, stating: "You found yourself in the line of fire yesterday, didn't you? Just before your report at eight o'clock. "We had no idea at the time. We've seen a number of reporters, in fact you reported on one yesterday morning of a photographer who had been hit, what happened to you?" Detailing the harrowing event from Monday (9 June), Noel explained that he was struck by a rubber bullet while on assignment, reports the Manchester Evening News. "Susanna and Richard, just 10 minutes before coming on air yesterday, I was on the floor talking to several protesters. I was on the floor because it was the best place to be, given the fact that the situation around us was so volatile, officers were obviously chasing protestors on the streets," recounted Noel. He further described the moment of impact, saying: "As I was laying on the floor, I felt as though an enormous ton of bricks had fallen on my arm. I realised, within about 20 to 30 seconds, that a rubber bullet had grazed the top layer of my skin and had caused a bit of injury. ‌ "My arm was swollen, I went to the doctors, got it checked out, it wasn't broken at all. But, it was swollen, it still is swollen and it's in a bandage at the moment." Detailing his ordeal, Noel described how the chaotic scene underscored the "unpredictable" nature of current events in LA, expressing dismay that the police appear indifferent to whether one is a journalist—they're just intent on clearing the vicinity. For four consecutive days, LA has been embroiled in protests, with tensions escalating between demonstrators and law enforcement. Over the weekend, protestors took to the streets to rail against aggressive immigration policy measures, voicing support for detained immigrants' families who are desperate to secure the release of their relatives. Amidst this turmoil, President Donald Trump has called in the National Guard, flouting the objections of California Governor Gavin Newsom.
