
RRB NTPC Exam 2025 Dates Released, Check Schedule Here
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has officially announced the exam dates for the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) Graduate-level posts on May 13, 2025. The Computer-Based Test (CBT) 1 for NTPC Graduate-level posts will take place from June 5, 2025, to June 23, 2025. Admit cards are expected to be released on June 1, 2025, and exam city intimation slips will be available by May 27, 2025.
The official notification reads: "The link for viewing the Exam City & Date and downloading of Travel Authority for SC/ST candidates will be made live 10 days prior to the exam date on the official websites of all RRBs. Downloading of E-Call letters will start 4 days prior to the exam date mentioned in the Exam City and Date intimation link."
RRB NTPC 2025: Vacancy Distribution
The total number of vacancies includes 8,113 for graduate-level positions and 3,445 for undergraduate-level positions.

State-owned NTPC on Thursday said it has completed trial operations of a third unit of 660 MW of its North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project in Jharkhand, taking its total installed capacity to 81,368 MW. NTPC's 3X660 MW North Karanpura Super Thermal Power (STPP) project is a coal-based power plant located in the Chatra district of the state. Senior Citizens Savings Scheme: Eligibility, Feature, Interest Rates And Taxability

The Senior Citizen Savings Scheme (SCSS) is government-backed in India, introduced in 2004 to provide financial security to senior citizens who require a consistent income following retirement. It offers a fixed interest rate of 8.2 per cent (as of June 12, 2025), payable quarterly to all individuals aged 60 and above. They can invest up to Rs 30 lakhs during a 5-year period that can be extended for an additional three years. The investment itself is tax-deductible under Section 80C, but the interest earned is completely taxable. Eligibility: The individual should have to be above 60 years of age to open a SCSS account in a Post office or a bank. Retired civilians aged 55 and up, but under 60. However, the investment should be made within one month of receiving the retirement benefits. Retired defence employees above 50 years and below 60 years. The investment criteria remain the same as the retired civilians. Accounts can be opened as individuals or jointly with a spouse. The total amount deposited in the joint account will be attributed only to the first account holder. Notably, Non-Resident Indians (NRI) or Hindu Undivided Families (HUF) are not eligible to open an account. The individual must submit their PAN Card and Aadhaar Card numbers. All the eligible individuals can invest in SCSS with a minimum of Rs 1,000 and a maximum of Rs 30 lakh. The SCSS interest rate is fixed at 8.2 per cent annually. The rate is updated quarterly and the final rate is determined by factors such as inflation, market conditions and others. The savings scheme lasts five years. You can choose to extend the term for another three years. You must submit a request to the bank within one year of maturity. You can only select to extend the tenure once. After one year of account opening, you may withdraw funds prematurely from your SCSS account. If you open a SCSS scheme, you will be able to receive quarterly disbursals. Banks make interest payments on April 1, July 1, October 1 and January 1. Taxability: It provides both tax benefits and is liable to taxation. Investments in SCSS are eligible for deductions under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act, up to Rs 1.5 lakhs per year. The interest is taxable based on an individual's tax slab and TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) applies if the interest exceeds Rs 50,000 per year. Also, senior citizens can claim a maximum of Rs 50,000 annual deduction on interest earned under Section 80TTB of the Income Tax Act. NTPC's North Karanpura project completes trial operations of unit-3
NTPC said that the trial operations of Unit-2 of the 660 MW capacity unit of North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project have been successfully completed and consequently included in the installed capacity of the company. "With this, the total installed capacity of NTPC on standalone and group basis has become 60,266 MW and 81,368 MW respectively, the public sector enterprise said in a statement. The North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project is India's first supercritical thermal power project to utilize air cooled condenser technology. This technology significantly reduces water consumption, requiring only one-third the water footprint of a conventional water cooled condenser (WCC). The project has been built with an investment of Rs 4,609 crore. NTPC commenced commercial operation of unit-1 of this project on 01 March 2023. The unit-II of the project became operational on 03 March 2024. NTPC is India's largest energy conglomerate. It has presence in the entire value chain of the power generation business. As of 31 March 2025, the Government of India held 51.10% stake in the company. The company had reported 23.4% increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 7,611.22 crore on a 4.6% rise in net sales to Rs 49,833.70 crore in Q4 FY25 as compared with Q4 FY24. The scrip shed 0.09% to currently trade at Rs 337.75 on the BSE.
