Bayern Munich Vs Auckland City: Hat-Trick For Jamal Musiala As German Giants Win 10-0

News1811 hours ago

Harry Kane started but did not score before being replaced by Musiala just after the hour mark. Musiala then netted his three goals within a span of 18 minutes toward the end.
'We have to remain modest, but it was important to be able to say that we took the game seriously," said Bayern coach Vincent Kompany.
'It was a good first match at the tournament, but of course, challenges are going to grow and it's going to become more difficult."
Kompany's side had an effortless time in Cincinnati's midday sun, with French winger Coman scoring twice in the opening 21 minutes, along with goals by compatriots Boey and Olise.
Coman's sixth-minute goal was the first of the tournament following the 0-0 draw between Inter Miami and Al Ahly in Saturday's opening game.
Mueller scored the fifth, and Olise's second goal of the afternoon made it 6-0 in first-half stoppage time for the Bundesliga heavyweights.
Olise's second goal was the highlight of the day's strikes, as he came in from the right and curled a shot with his left foot into the far corner.
Auckland City managed to limit the damage for much of the second half before Musiala took centre stage, scoring three goals, including one from the penalty spot after being fouled.
Mueller, who will leave Bayern after the tournament, scored his 250th goal for the club, making it 10-0 in the 89th minute.
The result underscored the vast gulf between one of Europe's top clubs and an Auckland side that has won the Oceania Champions League 13 times but whose amateur players had to take unpaid leave to travel to the United States for the tournament.
'This is the reality of football against one of the world's top teams," admitted Auckland City's interim coach, Ivan Vicelich.
'It is a dream for players coming from an amateur level to play in this environment.
'We knew it was going to be a very difficult game, playing against one of the top teams in the world, potentially one of the favourites for the Club World Cup, so we are just really proud of the players' efforts."
The result marked an ideal start for Bayern, who have won the Club World Cup twice in its former seven-team format, in 2013 and 2020.
They have achieved bigger victories in the German Cup, but the 10-goal margin equals their best ever in the Bundesliga, when they beat Borussia Dortmund 11-1 in 1971.

'I don't have any doubt': Enzo Maresca backs Liam Delap to succeed Harry Kane at England, doesn't assure £30 million signing starting role at Chelsea

Liam Delap signed for Chelsea for £30million from relegated Ipswich Town earlier this month (Image via ANI) Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca expressed confidence that new £30 million signing Liam Delap, acquired from relegated Ipswich Town, has the potential to succeed Harry Kane as England's future striker. Speaking ahead of Chelsea's Club World Cup opener against Los Angeles FC in Atlanta, Maresca highlighted his previous experience coaching Delap in Manchester City's under-21 team. The 22-year-old forward's arrival at Chelsea comes with high expectations, as he takes on the prestigious number nine shirt at the club. "I don't have any doubt that he can be in the future England's number nine," Maresca said when asked about Delap's potential to succeed the 31-year-old Bayern Munich striker Kane. Despite Chelsea's recent history with high-profile strikers like Fernando Torres, Romelu Lukaku, and Alvaro Morata struggling at the club, Maresca sees Delap handling the pressure well. "Liam knows quite well how important is the number nine for this club... I see him quite relaxed, easy, he's doing well, since he arrived he's working well," Maresca stated. The Italian coach emphasized the advantage of their existing relationship from their time at Manchester City. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 中年以降であれば、このゲームは必須です。 BuzzDaily Winners ゲームをプレイ Undo "We know each other already from years ago, so I know what Liam can give us, he knows what we can give to him to improve and to become a better player," Maresca explained. We like Liam, Liam likes us, so it was an easy conversation." Maresca clarified that Delap wasn't promised a starting position ahead of Nicolas Jackson. "I never say to a player you (will) be a first choice, the message is always the same, you arrive, you work hard, you work more than the other number nine (and you can be)," he added. The coach also mentioned Chelsea's interest in signing a left-winger later in the summer to replace Jadon Sancho, whose loan will not be made permanent. Regarding their upcoming Club World Cup match against LAFC, Maresca remained cautious. "I'm never confident, I don't know if it's something good or something bad, but I think because of the technology today, any game can be difficult," he said. "They can watch many games about us, we can watch many games about them, so every game becomes very complicated."

Bayern inflicted a merciless 10-0 defeat on Auckland City, while PSG comfortably outplayed Atletico de Madrid 4-0 in testing heat. The evening also featured two other matches, where Al Ahly edged Urawa Reds in a tense finish, and Monterrey handled Al Ittihad with clinical precision. For Bayern and PSG, it wasn't just about the scorelines—it was the sheer quality, focus and hunger that stood out. The gulf in class was evident, and both teams played like they had a point to prove despite being favourites. Musiala, Muller steal the show as Bayern maul Auckland Bayern Munich opened their campaign in brutal fashion at TQL Stadium, tearing apart Auckland City with a ten-goal blitz. Jamal Musiala stood tall with a hat-trick in the second half, while Thomas Muller and Kingsley Coman chipped in with two each. Michael Olise and Sacha Boey also found the net, as the German giants raced to a 6-0 lead by half-time. Coach Vincent Kompany, speaking post-match, downplayed the scoreline but admitted that goal difference could be key in the group stage. Muller, reflecting on his double, said the connection with the fans made it a night to remember. Early goals from Cunha, Jesus help Botafogo down Sounders 2-1 at Club WC

Jair Cunha and Igor Jesus scored in the first half and Botafogo beat the Seattle Sounders 2-1 at the Club World Cup on. Botafogo opened the scoring 28 minutes into the game as Cunha headed in a pass from Alex Telles. It came after a contentious yellow card to Nouhou Tolo gave the visitors a direct free kick just beyond the corner of the penalty box. Sounders players felt the call was unfair as there had been some unobserved jostling between Tolo and Artur before Tolo shoved his opponent to the ground. Botafogo doubled the lead in the first half's final minutes with another headed goal. Vitinho connected with his 24-year-old star teammate Igor Jesus, who sent a powerful header to the bottom corner. The Sounders played better in the second half, buoyed by their energetic subs. Four minutes after coming into the match, Paul Rothrock provided the assist for Christian Roldan's header in the 75th minute that deflected off Jesus. Key Moments The Sounders had two shots on target in a row in the final 30 seconds of stoppage time to try to tie the score, but the first was well blocked by a defender before John smothered Rothrock's attempt. Takeaways Seattle will now have to try to win points off the perceived titans of Group B, Atltico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain to avoid going out in the group stage. Botafogo played good defense to hold onto its lead and is second in Group B on goal difference. What they said Obviously, they're a great team, and they put us under pressure in moments, but we matched them. The difference in the first half was just quality and a couple of key moments I think if you looked at the statistics, you would say that Sounders were in a good spot, but obviously everything is the score line, and we couldn't find that second goal. Seattle Sounders head coach Brian Schmetzer The second half, in terms of our defense, it was not good. We didn't take possession and Seattle scored a goal with some luck, but it was deserved. Botafogo head coach Renato Paiva.
