'Information is known locally' claim cops investigating Ayr murder bid
Police say they are investigating the murder bid after they were called to Braeside Road at around 10am on Tuesday, June 17.
The 39-year-old male victim remains in a serious but stable condition.
Officers are also appealing for information to help trace a man seen in the area around the time of the incident.
He is described as white, in his mid-30s, around 5ft 11in tall and with a tattoo on his neck.

Detective Inspector Jamie Carruth said: 'I'm aware there is information known locally in relation to the person involved in this attack on a man in broad daylight.
"I'd appeal to anyone who knows something, no matter how significant they think it may be, to come forward.
'I would also appeal to anyone who was in the Braeside Road area around the time and saw anything which may be of note or has CCTV or dash-cam footage, to contact us.
'Extensive enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances. Additional officers will be in the area while our investigations continue and I'd ask anyone with information or concerns to speak to officers or call 101.'

The pensioner is claimed to have tortured and assaulted children under her care including rubbing urine-soaked bedding into their heads, forcing soap into their mouths and making another to chew on cigarettes. The abuse allegedly carried out by Buirds is said to have involved 18 victims, who cannot be identified, and been committed between September 1975 and May 1981. Kane, from Lasswade, Midlothian, is facing three charges of cruel and unnatural treatment and one of assault allegedly carried out against four children between March 1980 and August 1981. The indictment also claims Kane dragged one child along a corridor and after kneeling on his chest she 'failed to provide him access to medical attention' when he said was in pain. McElhinney from Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire, is alleged to have carried out four offences of cruel and unnatural treatment and two of assault against five children between November 1972 and May 1975. The OAP is claimed to have caused children unnecessary suffering and injury to their health by committing acts including forcing youngsters to sit in a cold bath and striking them to their body. Edinburgh mum's horror as son rushed to hospital after 'dog attack' at party

More info An Edinburgh mum has been left horrified after her son was allegedly attacked by a dog at a busy local park. Nine-year-old Nicholas Quintero suffered injuries to his face following the horror incident while he and his family were attending a surprise birthday party at Leith Links on Thursday night. Nick's mum Maria Cedeno recalled singing happy birthday to a friend before hearing screaming and turning around to see blood gushing from her son's face after the dog supposedly lunged at him. According to Maria, Nick pointed to a Bulldog-type dog as she removed him from the park and phoned an ambulance. Medics arrived and police were later alerted to the incident. However, Maria says the owners of the dog attempted to 'hide it' from police and initially denied any wrongdoing. Nick was taken to hospital and returned on Friday morning, June 20, for surgery due to the severity of his facial injuries. Maria has been left furious by the ordeal and how it has been handled by the owners of the dog, claiming they are yet to apologise or take any accountability for the attack which has left her son "traumatised." When approached for comment Police Scotland confirmed a child was taken to hospital after being jumped at by a dog. However, images taken by Maria appear to show a bite mark on her son's body. Speaking to Edinburgh Live Maria, from Saughton, said: "I took the children to a gathering for a surprise party and it was supposed to be a fun day out and water gun fight. "The children were getting ready and everyone started singing happy birthday but all of a sudden I hear Nicholas shouting and screaming. My son's friends and him say all he did was pet the dog, there was no trigger for it to react like that. "The owners tried to tell the police there was balloons but there was none at all. When I saw all the blood I thought he had a nose bleed as it just wouldn't stop but he was covering his face and pointing to the dog. (Image: Supplied) "My reaction was I have to take him out of the park and phone an ambulance. The ambulance crew phoned the police and the dog was suddenly gone. It took 30 or 40 minutes for them to admit it was their dog. "We're now in hospital as he needs surgery. He has a cut at his mouth which is properly open and can't be stitched. I'm thankful the dog couldn't properly get a hold of him or he could have lost half his face." Maria added how the incident has already had a significant impact on him as he was spooked by the family's own dog when he returned home on Thursday. The attack was also witnessed by Maria's other son, who is 11-years-old, and a friend of his. Police have since confirmed the matter has been passed to the dog warden. Maria added: "It is all wrong and I want to make people cautious. I also want the owners to take accountability and responsibility as there hasn't even been an apology or a message to ask if they can help. "Two more children have been left in shock by this as his older brother and his friend were there. As owners we have to take accountability and if this was the other way around I'd be calling an ambulance and helping in any way, but there was no help." A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'Around 6.45pm on Thursday, 19 June, 2025, officers received a report of a dog having jumped at a child in the Links Place area of Edinburgh. 'The child was taken to hospital for treatment. The matter has been passed to the dog warden.' A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: 'We received a call at 18:32 on Thursday 19 June to attend an incident on Salamander Place, Edinburgh. We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and transported one patient to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.'

Serious injuries suffered after suspected drink and drug driving incident near Tenby Officers are appealing for information to help with their investigation into the crash which happened on Thursday evening The crash happened on the A4139 in Pembrokeshire (Image: Google ) A person is in hospital with serious injuries after a collision which left a Pembrokeshire road closed for 10 hours. Dyfed-Powys Police have launched a vehicle into the crash and one man has been arrested. The two-vehicle collision occurred on the A4139, between Tenby and Lydstep at around 5.15pm on Thursday (June 20). It involved a black Renault Captur and a white Ford Transit van. A 29-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving, and causing serious injury by dangerous driving, Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed. He remains in police custody. The road was closed for collision investigation work and was reopened just after 3am on June 20.
