New Delhi:
Fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya, facing fraud and money laundering allegations, recently made an appearance on Raj Shamani's podcast. The former liquor baron opened up about some long-standing issues related to his financial dealings, loan settlements and whether he is willing to return to India.
After Vijay Mallya made his podcast debut, an old video of actor Abhishek Banerjee playing Vijay Mallya in a comedy sketch has been doing the rounds on social media.
The clip, shared on X, is an excerpt from episode 3 of TVF's comedy series Daaru Pe Charcha. It features Abhishek parodying the infamous businessman while Jitendra Kumar plays the host.
The setting is a mock talk show where the two discuss various topics over drinks, blending comedy with sharp commentary. The hilarious conversation between the two characters covers several topics, including Vijay Mallya's extravagant lifestyle, legal troubles and the public's perception of him, not unlike the conversation he had with Raj Shamani on his recent podcast.

On the work front, Abhishek Banerjee's film Stolen was released on June 4. Inspired by the 2018 lynching of two men in Assam, the film features Mia Maelzer and Shubham Vardhan in key roles.
NDTV, in its review, gave Stolen 3 out of 5 stars and wrote, "Unlike more didactic films, Stolen doesn't preach. It leaves room for ambiguity. There are no capital-V villains here, only fear, fatigue and desperation."
After Stolen, Abhishek Banerjee has an interesting lineup of films to look forward to. The actor will be seen in projects like Toaster, Bhediya 2, Section 84, and Mirzapur: The Film. Makers have also announced that Abhishek will return as Jana in Stree 3.

"Saw People Dying, Crying For Water": Witness Recalls Bengaluru Horror

He was there at RCB's victory celebrations near the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday but narrowly escaped injuries after he realised that the crowd was swelling to an unmanageable size and decided to leave the area. Minutes later, his pulse quickened when he got a message from his family that his son, in his early twenties, was also in the same spot and could not be contacted. "I was very nervous. When I tried to contact him, I could not get any network, possibly because of the large crowd. Thankfully, I got a message from him saying he was at the front of the crowd and describing the atmosphere as beautiful," the witness to the stampede, in which 11 people - including a 14-year-old girl were killed - told NDTV. "I was already home by then. I did not know he was there. I scolded him over texts and asked him to get out immediately. About 20 minutes later, he managed to get out of the area and called his sister, who was also worried. She asked him to make a video call to prove he was okay, and only then did we breathe a sigh of relief," he recalled. Recounting the situation, the man, who requested not to be identified, said too many people were packed into a small area and there was no space to move. "I saw people were dying. There was no water, people were crying for were no arrangements for first aid or ambulances. When the Chief Minister knew so many people would turn up, why weren't there proper security arrangements? I don't blame the police, in fact, I salute them. They managed the situation well, otherwise the deaths could have crossed 100," he said. Another Bengaluru resident pointed out that similar celebrations had taken place in Mumbai last year after India won the T20 World Cup, but they were much better managed. "The magisterial inquiry is just an eyewash. Political parties know how to handle crowds, they organise big rallies. How could the arrangements have been so bad for this celebration? People were happy that RCB had won the IPL after 18 years, but the joy has now been turned to tears," he said. The police have arrested four people in connection with the stampede and five police officers, including the Bengaluru police commissioner, have been suspended. On Friday, the Karnataka government also sacked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's Political Secretary K Govindaraj and the state intelligence department chief. While the Congress-led government has said it is doing everything possible to help the families of the victims and fix accountability, the opposition BJP and Janata Dal (Secular) have accused it of scapegoating the police officials.

Deepika Padukone dropped out of Kalki 2 after Spirit? Sources reveal TRUTH, ‘absolutely…'

Reports suggested that Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone has been dropped from yet another project, following her infamous fallout with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga over his film, Spirit. But why? It was said that she was dropped out of Kalki 2 due to friction with its lead actor, Prabhas. Another rumour suggested makers of the sequel of Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD were considering trimming or removing Deepika's role entirely. Amid this, a source close to the team has reacted to these rumours. Talking to NDTV, a source called the rumours of 'friction on sets', dismissing them as 'absolutely false'. According to the source, Kalki 2 is yet to hit the shooting floors. 'No shoot, no sets, no interaction and therefore, no question of a fallout,' the unnamed source added. Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone saw a massive success, minting ₹ 1,042.25 crore worldwide. It also featured Kamal Haasan. Previously reports claimed that the Kalki 2 shoot could be delayed following Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's baby. The two welcomed their baby daughter, Dua Padukone Singh last year. However, Kalki 2 without Deepika isn't possible, as revealed by the director earlier. Nag Ashwin had said that Deepika's role was the backbone of his film. Therefore it would not be possible to make the sequel without her. The fallout between Deepika and Vanga reportedly happened after Deepika who is a new mom, requested an 8-hour workday, which came down to 6 hours of actual shoot. She reportedly also demanded ₹ 20 crore as her salary for the film alongside a share in the film's profits. A source previously told Bollywood Hungama, "Sandeep Reddy Vanga got the shock of his life when Deepika Padukone refused to shoot for more than 6 hours a day for Spirit. That's not all, the actress, via her agency, also started to demand an amendment to the contract. Their point of contention was simple - if the shoot extends beyond 100 days, Deepika will have to be paid extra for every single day of shoot beyond the commitment on paper." Around the same time, Sandeep Reddy Vanga also shared a strong post on X. He wrote, "When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA(Non-Disclosure Agreement) between us. But by doing this, you've 'DISCLOSED' the person that you down a younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for? As a filmmaker, I put years of hard work behind my craft & for me, filmmaking is everything. You didn't get it. You won't get it. You will never get it." Later, Deepika was replaced with Triptii Dimri in Spirit, alongside Prabhas.
