Texans TEs pass on attending Kittle, Kelce and Olsen's 'Tight End University' this week
Some of the league's top tight ends will get together this week in Nashville for the fifth annual "Tight End University," founded by Travis Kelce, George Kittle and Greg Olsen. The Houston Texans trio of tight ends, however, will not be in attendance.
Based on the composite picture posted from TEU's Instagram page, Dalton Schultz, Cade Stover, Brevin Jordan and rookie Luke Lachey are not expected to attend the event. Schultz previously attended the event in both 2022 and 2023, but didn't partake in last year's festivities.
While Jordan, who is coming off a torn ACL, might not be a surprise, not having Lachey in attendance is. The former Iowa tight end modeled his game after Kittle, who was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers out of Iowa City in 2017. As an Iowa alum, most assume that the player would automatically be included in any event.
Both fellow Hawkeye alums Noah Fant and T.J. Hockenson will attend the event, meaning Lachey will be the lone holdout from Kinnick Stadium days.
As for what these tight ends do during the summit, it's all about collaboration, learning and helping each other out before the upcoming season.
From the Tight End University website:
Founded in 2021 by NFL Tight Ends George Kittle, Travis Kelce and Greg Olsen, Tight End University was created to bring the Tight End community together for an immersive three-day program. Over the course of the summit, attendees are able to bond, collaborate with, and learn amongst their peers while participating in a variety of activities including film study, on-field drills, recovery, rehabilitation, and more. In addition to current players, TEU also features several retired legends who provide attendees with the invaluable opportunity to learn from some of the best to ever play the game.
Beyond supporting our athletes, TEU is also driven to give back to the community through a variety of charitable initiatives. Thanks to the help of our sponsors, we are able to help raise money for various organizations and at the conclusion of the event donate all proceeds to charities selected by our hosts.
There are also community and charitable efforts held during TEU, raising money that will be donated to various charities.
Both Kittle and Kelce will partake in the event, but some of the headliners attending include Las Vegas Raiders' Brock Bowers, Philadelphia Eagles' Dallas Goedert, Denver Broncos' Evan Engram, Arizona Cardinals' Trey McBride, Dallas Cowboys' Jake Ferguson and New York Jets' rookie Mason Taylor.
The Texans return to the Methodist Training Center on July 24 for the start of training camp.

Panthers have 3 players attending Greg Olsen's Tight End University this week
A few Carolina Panthers are about to study under the game's very best. The fifth installment of Tight End University, an annual training summit for the NFL's tight ends, kicked off in Nashville, Tenn. this week. This year's class was announced during the weekend, and includes Carolina's Tommy Tremble, Dominique Dafney and 2025 draft pick Mitchell Evans. With Tremble on the road to recovery from a recent back surgery, the 22-year-old Evans may factor into Carolina's plans at the position earlier than expected. But so far, the returns are pretty good on the fifth-round selection. "What carries over from the film is, a really versatile guy," head coach Dave Canales said of Evans during rookie minicamp in May. "Whether it was the individual drills, going through blocking with Pat [McPherson], the footwork stuff. And then just being a reliable target. He's a really smooth mover in his routes, plays compact at the top. So—I think just all those things—we just felt like a really well-rounded, clean football player, and certainly fits in to what we do." Tight End University was founded by Panthers great Greg Olsen, as well as Kansas City's Travis Kelce and San Francisco's George Kittle, in 2021. The program aims to bring tight ends together for a week of film study, on-field drills, recovery and more. So this will be a perfect opportunity for Carolina's young tight ends to learn a thing or two. Follow @ThePanthersWire on Twitter/X for more Panthers content.

Iowa football 2026 target chooses different powerhouse destination
HOME !!! ☘️☘️ After winning a recruiting battles for Ronnie Hill and Kasen Thomas, Iowa football was on the losing end of the recruitment for a talented three-star tight end. It was on June 19 that Preston Fryzel announced his final three schools: Iowa, Notre Dame and Miami (Fla.). Fryzel announced on Monday that he would be taking his talents to South Bend, Indiana, to join the Notre Dame football program, choosing the Fighting Irish over the Hawkeyes and Hurricanes. Missing out on Fryzel is a setback for the Iowa football 2026 recruiting class as they're still without a tight end commit in the class. Iowa has offers out to a pair of other tight ends in the 2026 class, four-star JC Anderson and three-star Tyler Ruxer. Anderson has offers from Auburn, Ole Miss, Illinois and Arkansas, while Ruxer has offers from West Virginia, Oklahoma and Duke among other schools. Iowa still has plenty of time to add more prospects and offers to that list and fans should have no doubt that Kirk Ferentz will bring in a tight end recruit in the 2026 class.
