SNIPERS in helicopters have shot more than 700 cuddly Koalas in a horrifying round of aerial attacks in Australia.
Victoria's government defended the brutal culling which has left many joeys without mothers.

Shocking pictures from the attacks show helicopters looming over the trees of the Budj Bim National Park.
From there the koalas were assessed before being cruelly shot.
The mass cull came after the national park was left in ruin following devastating fires in March.
The fires left many of the cuddly koalas injured - with scorched skin and burnt paws.
And the animals were also left without their beloved food source - manna gum - which was destroyed in the blaze.
A wildlife vet James Todd defended the cull and said it was to prevent further suffering for those animals affected by the fire.
He added that the cull was carried out by specialist staff working with experienced vets, wildlife carers and animal welfare experts.
Todd said: 'Due to direct impacts of the fire, the poor health and low likelihood of survival of many animals due to the ongoing drought conditions and lack of food post-fire, many of the animals are requiring euthanising.'
He added: 'The options were to just leave them to deteriorate or take proactive steps to reduce suffering by using aerial assessments.'
Aerial culling is often used to control invasive species such as deer and pigs, but this is the first time it has been used on koalas.
Heartbreaking images of dozens of badly burned koalas at a makeshift animal hospital, in washing baskets after their homes were destroyed by horrendous bushfires on Kangaroo Island, Australia
But wildlife groups were left outraged with many expressing serious concern about how the fate of individual koalas had been chosen.
Koalas live in eucalyptus forests in Australia's eastern and southern states.
The cuddly creatures are considered endangered in New South Wales, Queensland and the Australian Capital Territory.
But in Victoria, koala population levels are currently secure.
The koala population is densely concentrated in the region - with fragments of bush known as "habitat islands".
Budj Bim National Park is one of these habitat islands and was previously home to a host of happy koalas.
But when fire or drought make these habitat islands impossible to live in, koalas are left with nowhere to go.

Experts weigh in He has said the Boeing 787 Dreamliner suffered a catastrophic power loss seconds after take-off in Ahmedabad. He said: 'The lights started flickering green and white. 'Everything happened in seconds. I realised we were going down. Everyone around me was either dead or dying. I thought I was about to die, then I opened my eyes and realised that I was alive.' He crawled through a hole in the wreckage and walked to an ambulance. Brother Ajay, who was in the same row but on the other side of the aisle, was killed. Meanwhile, a mum who died in the crash had been reluctant to leave eight-year-old son Meer for the first time, a friend has said. Abdhiben Patel, 40, had flown to India two weeks earlier to care for her mother. What caused the Air India plane disaster? Six main theories emerge – from mystery over landing gear to 40C weather Atif Karim, a colleague at Zone Beauty Studio in Northampton, said: 'She didn't want to go. She told me, 'I don't like being away from him'. 'It was her first time leaving him, and she was very nervous, not excited. It was a sense of duty. Her mum was unwell but you could tell it was weighing on her.' Mr Karim said tensions between India and Pakistan added to Mrs Patel's worries, saying: 'All the flights were getting cancelled. It didn't feel like the right time.' Mrs Patel, whose husband Pankaj worked nights, was devoted to her son. Mr Karim said: 'She was the most diligent, reliable worker I've ever had. But more than that, she was our friend. "She was bubbly, kind, always smiling. She had a way of putting people at ease and took an interest in their lives.'

The 18ft pythons are believed to have been kept as pets before being abandoned. Dog owners are being warned to keep pets on leads in the Twigmoor and Cleatham areas of rural Lincolnshire where the reticulated pythons were found. Humberside Police say the snakes will attack only to defend themselves but can 'squeeze the life' out of their prey. A spokesman said: 'So far four snakes have been captured by colleagues who work with exotic animals. 'They are believed to be Reticulated Pythons. We suspect that one snake may currently still be out in the wild. 'The reticulated Python is the longest species on earth. It is a non venomous constrictor snake. In the wild, they will kill their prey by biting it and then coiling around it to literally squeeze the life out of it. 'In the pet trade, these come in many colours. An 18ft Snake found at Manton is a wild type, but the other three are a mixture of two Albinos and what we think is a Pied Golden Child Morph. 'In the event that you find one in the wild in the UK, please call police immediately. DO NOT try to catch it yourself, keep an eye on it and give a What3Words location to the police so it can be assessed by an expert and collected appropriately. 'We would advise keeping dogs on a lead in the areas where these snakes were found. 'These Snakes will not attack you. They will only try to defend themselves if they feel threated. We suspect that the snakes that have been dumped were pets and this will make them less likely to bite. Incredible video reveals ultra rare snake with three fangs 'Please if you have a pet that you can no longer keep for whatever reason, please take it to an exotic animal shop or animal rescue. DO NOT release them into the wild. 'If you have any information on the release of these snakes please contact Humberside Police Rural Task Force at RTF@ or call 101 quoting investigation reference 25000081788."
