Guardian Recovery announces the rebranding of two key treatment facilities in South Florida to further unify its expansive network of treatment facilities.
DELRAY BEACH, FL, UNITED STATES, May 8, 2025 / EINPresswire.com / -- Guardian Recovery announces the rebranding of two key treatment facilities in South Florida to further unify its expansive network of substance use disorder and mental health treatment centers. Immersion Recovery Center in Delray Beach will now operate as Guardian Recovery - Immersion Outpatient, while Immersion Residential in Boynton Beach will become Guardian Recovery - Immersion Residential.
This rebranding reflects Guardian Recovery's strategic initiative to create a more cohesive identity across its treatment network while maintaining the distinctive therapeutic approaches that have made these facilities successful and signature treatment facilities for the South Florida community. Both locations will continue to deliver their signature evidence-based clinical and medical care combined with a fully immersive 12-step model.
These facilities will continue to maintain their unique three-phase approach to treating substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. This comprehensive methodology begins with detoxification and residential treatment focused on stabilization, progresses through partial hospitalization treatment centered on therapy and motivation, and culminates in reintegration through outpatient care. This phased approach has demonstrated effectiveness in promoting long-term recovery outcomes. Virtual treatment options are also available to Florida residents for those needing greater flexibility and access to care.
The newly renamed facilities offer a diverse array of medical and clinical treatments tailored to meet individual client needs. Understanding that recovery is not one-size-fits-all, these centers employ top therapists providing various therapeutic modalities. For clients with dual-diagnosis conditions, regular psychiatric and medical support remains available through the expert treatment team.
For more information about Guardian Recovery's South Florida treatment facilities or their comprehensive treatment programs, contact their admissions team directly.

Amid mourning for fallen colleague, changes are coming to how CPD officers can access mental health aid
Changes coming for mental health aid for CPD officers coming as they mourn fallen colleage Changes coming for mental health aid for CPD officers coming as they mourn fallen colleage Changes coming for mental health aid for CPD officers coming as they mourn fallen colleage Chicago police officers and the family of Officer Krystal Rivera — who was killed in the line of duty last week — honored Rivera's memory Wednesday night at the Gresham (6th) District station where she worked. The department is dealing with the tragedy as changes come to how officers can access mental health help. The vigil for Rivera has become an all-too-familiar scene outside the Gresham District station. Blue ribbons have been set up around trees, black bunting was draped on the wall, as people gathered around a podium set up outside the station. Rivera was accidentally shot and killed by a fellow officer last Thursday night during a chase in the Chatham neighborhood. "Sixth District, this is the third officer that you've lost in the last year," said Fr. Michael Pfleger, pastor of nearby St. Sabina Church. Rivera's family stood on one side of the podium, her team of officers on the other. But how the group of those behind the badge can get access to mental health resources is changing — after a memo was sent out to the Chicago Police Department last week. The new policy puts a temporary pause on the involvement any outside group that comes to roll calls or the beginning of a shift. "Essentially, what it is going to do is put up massive roadblocks to these organizations," said retired CPD Officer John Garrido. Garrido said the new directive means no organization can come in and help officers unless they follow a strict protocol. He said help is needed for officers as they deal with trauma. A U.S. Department of Justice report said CPD officers die by suicide at a 60% higher rate than other departments across the country. "Going through the COVID and all the riots and all the things that were going on, there was something to be said about having somebody who truly cares coming in there and making themselves available," Garrido said. Chicago police said they do have an internal team of counselors, who are part of the Employee Assistance Program, or EAP. The CPD also offers peer support and chaplains. But Garrido said what the CPD has to offer is restricted. Back at Rivera's vigil, Gresham District Cmdr. Michael Tate reminded the family and officers that help is out there. "We are all in this together," Tate said. "We don't want you to feel like you are any type of island by yourself. We're standing right here with you. Some of us are swimming to get to you."

Dr. Pepper Zero Sugar recalled, FDA warns of serious health risk for diabetics
A recall of mislabeled cases of Dr. Pepper Zero Sugar has been upgraded amid a serious health risk, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The FDA and Dr. Pepper announced a voluntary recall last month of 19,203 12-pack and 24-pack cases of 12-ounce cans of Dr. Pepper Zero Sugar. The cases of soda were found to contain 'full sugar.' Late last week, the FDA's recall was upgraded to Class II. The FDA defines a Class II recall as 'a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.' Because the cans were mislabeled as having zero sugar, they could cause a health risk for diabetics or others who need to limit their sugar intake or avoid it altogether. 4 The FDA and Dr. Pepper announced a voluntary recall last month of 19,203 12-pack and 24-pack cases of 12-ounce cans of Dr. Pepper Zero Sugar. Achieve Crispy Vegetable Perfection With These Air Fryer Tips
Vegetables might be full of vitamins and minerals that are good for you, but that doesn't always mean you want to eat them. Traditional methods of cooking up vegetables like blanching, roasting or boiling them can deliver soggy, tasteless food that kids and adults alike turn their noses up. Thankfully, your air fryer is here to help. Along with meals, this handy kitchen gadget can turn brussel sprouts, potatoes, and even chickpeas, into a quick snack. I wanted expert input, so I reached out to Four Seasons Fort Lauderdale executive chef Ryan Ratino, who told me you can make restaurant-quality mushrooms at home with your trusty air fryer. "We may not use an air fryer in the restaurant, but we do use high-powered combo ovens that, under the right settings, are very similar," he says. Aside from fantastic fungi, plenty of other vegetables are perfect candidates for the countertop appliance that's become a kitchen staple. We tapped into Ratino's expertise for tips on achieving air-fried vegetable perfection. Best vegetables to air fry Potatoes and starchy vegetables Potatoes and other dense, starchy vegetables are made for the air fryer. ThaiPractically anything can be made in an air fryer, but some ingredients hold up better than others. "Potatoes, sweet potatoes, yucca, plantains, and also mushrooms air fry the best," advises Ratino. This is due to their starchiness, which can not only hold up to quick, extreme temperatures, but also maintain internal moisture with a crunchy exterior. Brussels sprouts, green beans, zucchini, eggplant and onions Dense Brussels sprouts make perfect air fryer food. Alexandra Able/CNET Aside from the aforementioned starches, opt for brussels sprouts, green beans, zucchini, eggplant and onions, which have layers, pockets, and/or thick skins that can withstand oil, coatings, air and quick bursts of heat. One exception to the no fibrous veggie rule (below) is cauliflower. The fibrous cousin of broccoli is more dense and contains more moisture, meaning it's less likely to burn inside the air fryer basket. Avoid fibrous greens Kale, spinach and other leafy greens don't fare as well against the air fryer's fierce such as broccoli and asparagus can certainly be tossed into an air fryer, but that may not be the best way to maximize their potential. "These dry out too fast before browning and give you a poor texture," says Ratino. If you're going to use an air fryer, it's best to cover the veggies with foil so they don't dry out or burn. Blanch your vegetables Perhaps the most important air frying tip of all, at least when it comes to vegetables, is to blanch. "Blanching helps with retaining the moisture in the vegetable while trying to brown it," explains Ratino. Simply boil a pot of water, add the veggies for one to five minutes (or whenever they appear bright in color), and then immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water. Drain and dry the vegetables before storing or cooking them. Lightly oil and coat your vegetables A spritz of cooking oil will ensure veggies don't singe or burn. Wonderchef For added crunch and moisture retention, Ratino recommends a light spray of oil, as well as a coating of French-fried onions. But feel free to experiment with other crispy additions, such as panko, breadcrumbs, crushed crackers and even pork rinds. These add not only drool-worthy texture, but also flavor that can change anyone's perception of what it means to be healthy. Advantages and disadvantages of using an air fryer Cauliflower makes another good candidate for the air fryer. David Watsky/CNET The advantages of air fryers are apparent, with time, color, and texture topping Ratino's list of all-time favorite perks. Though traditional frying techniques may guarantee more-consistent and, frankly, delicious results, these machines cut corners so that less time is spent cooking and more time is spent eating. That said, air fryers do tend to dry out ingredients much quicker, making it important to keep an eye on temperature and cooking times. This can require a significant amount of trial and error, though a bit of science in the kitchen can be fun for novice chefs. Additionally, it's important to note that air fryers can become quite difficult to clean over time due to the volume of food that's constantly added to their small spaces. But no matter how you swing — er — bake it, air fryers are now a kitchen countertop essential and a perfect way to knock off the recommended servings in a daily food pyramid.
