The reopening of the Big Mac Bridge has its own T-shirt, and we're cracking up
The closure of the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge in November became a bit of a meme in Cincinnati. The bridge's reopening is no different.
Cincy Shirts has what you need to celebrate Sunday's reopening of the bridge, colloquially known as the Big Mac Bridge.
The witty hometown brand created a T-shirt that reads "Return of the Mac," a play on Mark Morrison's R&B 1996 hit "Return of the Mack."
The T-shirt features an illustration of the Big Mac Bridge and a sign for Interstate 471, which is the highway that runs across the bridge to carry vehicles from Cincinnati to Newport, and vice versa.
"Connected Again," is written beneath the illustration with the reopening date, "February 9, 2025."
It's finally reopening! Our traffic nightmares are over! We had to make something to celebrate this important moment in Cincy history

"The Big MAC Bridge is BACK BABY! Oh my how we have missed you my dear friend!," the description on Cincy Shirts' website reads. "The hours and hours that this has cost Cincinnatians, along with the dollars that it has costed local businesses is mind blowing."
The bridge's southbound lanes have been closed since Nov. 1 due to a fire that caused extensive damage. The closure upended the daily commutes of 100,000 drivers, while the repair project likely cost $10 million.
The shirt costs $20 and is available online and at Cincy Shirts' Fort Mitchell and Loveland locations. You can show off your Big Mac pride in a light blue or heather grey version of the tee.
The Ohio Department of Transportation also joined in on the fun after the agency announced the bridge would reopen a full month earlier than anticipated.
The department tweeted a photo of Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and the bridge with the caption: "Comeback Player(s) of the Year."

Burger King menu adds a wild new Whopper
Every big brand in the fast-food space works a little differently when it comes to how it keeps its customers coming back time and time again. McDonald's relies on the strengths of its classics such as the Big Mac and Quarter Pounder, making tweaks to overall quality over the years but keeping them as similar as possible, since they know customers have loved them for decades. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter Taco Bell, however, has a very different strategy. The Tex-Mex fast-food giant operates very much at the speed of social media, offering new menu items all the time and frequently collaborating with big brands like Cheez-It to power constant interest from its devoted fanbase. McDonald's is very much a chain where people go decade after decade, and while it remains the most popular, Taco Bell has the edge of appealing to a Gen Z crowd due to its messaging and willingness to experiment constantly. Related: Celebrity chef's original eatery files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Restaurant Business International's (QSR) Burger King has a strategy that falls somewhere between the two. Its Whopper has remained its most popular menu item since it debuted in 1957, and as a result, Burger King reinvents it regularly, usually to positive results. Now the famous chain is doing that again, unveiling a new take on its famous flame-broiled burger that ought to attract some eyeballs. In an X post shared on June 5, the Burger King Japan official account shared news of a brand new Whopper launching for a limited time: The Wild West burgers. The first of the two new sandwiches is called the Barbecue Rodeo, which combines the chain's famous flame-grilled beef patties with its crisp onion rings, tops it with two slices of cheese, and finishes it with a healthy dollop of Bull's-Eye barbecue sauce. This sandwich will retail for 1,290 yen ($8.90 U.S.), which can be purchased separately or in a set with small fries and a medium drink for 1.590 yen ($10.97 U.S.). Related: Forget the Whopper, Burger King has a wild new burger The second new sandwich, called the Classic Rodeo, trades the Bull's-Eye barbecue sauce for ketchup and mustard, but keeps other ingredients the same. This one sells for the same price as the Barbecue Rodeo. The announcement on Burger King's website does note that the limited-edition sandwich may not be available at all locations. While the U.S. Burger King menu sadly will not offer the same sandwich, it does feature a Rodeo Burger that is very similar. Just order it and ask to have two slices of cheese added, and the itch for a smoky, savory taste will be scratched. QSR reported in its earnings call on June 5 that its revenue missed analyst expectations, and same-store sales declined across several brands, including Popeyes, Burger King, and Tim Horton's. However, demand was stronger outside of the U.S. and Canada, which may be why Japan is getting special limited-edition items like the Wild West burgers. QSR's problem is not unique. McDonald's also saw same-store sales shrink 3.5% in Q1, part of a bigger trend of customers pulling back on nonessential items in the shadow of President Donald Trump's tariff war and the ensuing economic uncertainty. Williams' inbox: Bad look for Joe Burrow to miss Cincinnati Bengals practice for Met Gala?
Ask columnist Jason Williams anything − sports or non-sports – and he'll pick some of your questions and comments from his inbox and respond on Email: jwilliams@ Subject: Joe Burrow misses Cincinnati Bengals practice for Met Gala Message: Call me old school, but I didn't like that (Joe) Burrow missed the team's practice to be at the Met Gala. I get it's optional, but Tee (Higgins) and Ja'Marr (Chase) were there. Don't you think it would've sent a strong message to the fans and rookies for Burrow to be there, too? Advertisement Reply: It really wasn't a big deal. Burrow was back at Paycor Stadium for voluntary practice on Wednesday. Yeah, I understand it may have looked odd for a hard-working, team-first superstar like Burrow to miss practice for a New York City fashion show. Here in flyover country, we don't really like our sports heroes showing up on the red carpet. But it's early May and Burrow has certainly built up enough locker-room goodwill that no one inside the Bengals organization is questioning his priorities. He also gave the team a heads up that he would miss the first few voluntary team sessions. Burrow is expected to attend most of the practices over the next month. Now, if you want to question Burrow's fashion sense, have at it. Dude wears some ugly stuff, although I liked the classy suit he wore at the Met Gala. Advertisement And before the fake-name, costume-wearing Bengals fans take to social media and rip me, I'm joking. Burrow can wear whatever the heck he wants. It's not hurting me. Just like it didn't bother me one bit when he posed for a photo with Donald Trump last year.
