UAE, US enjoying a ‘powerhouse partnership', says Sultan Al Jaber
Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNOC, and Executive Chairman of XRG, called for energy, technology, finance and policy sectors to work in sync to meet the once-in-a-generation investment opportunity of artificial intelligence (AI). Delivering a keynote address in Washington DC at the ninth edition of the Atlantic Council Global Energy Forum to an audience of policymakers and industry leaders, Dr. Al Jaber described AI as the next stage of human evolution and emphasised that meeting its demands will require an equally transformative shift in energy policy, investment and infrastructure. 'The race for AI supremacy is not just about code-it's about gigawatts,' he said. 'Every AI breakthrough consumes more power. And right now, global energy systems are not ready.' He noted that the US alone may require 50-150 gigawatts of new capacity by 2030, dependent on the energy source - equivalent to the total consumption of dozens of major cities. To meet that challenge, Dr. Al Jaber outlined a system-wide roadmap-developed in partnership with XRG, MGX and the Atlantic Council-calling for fast-tracked permitting, modernised grids, and strategic investment in gas, nuclear, and renewables. 'You can't run tomorrow's technology on yesterday's grid,' he said. 'Permitting delays and supply chain bottlenecks are now threats to progress. Policy must help, not hold back.' Dr Al Jaber highlighted that the size of the opportunity is huge and the key to unlocking it is partnership. He explained that this is why the UAE and the US are enjoying a 'powerhouse partnership' across every sector. 'For us, the United States is not just a partner-it's an investment imperative,' Dr. Al Jaber added. 'US companies are among the UAE's largest concession partners, active from upstream to downstream. Currently, the UAE energy sector works with US companies across 18 states and 50 facilities, from gas to chemicals to energy infrastructure and energy solutions.' 'XRG is an anchor partner in the largest LNG facility in Texas. We produce specialty chemicals across the country. And our renewable energy company, Masdar, has developed 5.5GW of operational capacity from coast-to-coast. And we are just getting started. To help harness that ambition, we opened a joint XRG/Masdar office right here in Washington DC.' He highlighted that a single new data centre can consume as much electricity as a city the size of Pittsburgh. 'Meeting this demand is not just a technical challenge - it is a once-in-a-generation investment opportunity. One that requires a system-wide shift, with energy, technology, finance and policy operating in sync,' he said. Dr. Al Jaber argued that 'in the age of hyperscalers, we must hyperscale energy,' calling for reliable baseload sources such as gas and nuclear, backed by renewables, energy storage, and emerging solutions like small modular reactors (SMRs) and fusion. He also advocated for a 'pragmatic pause' on early retirements of existing power plants while expanding nuclear capacity.

Yango Tech to launch GenAI Platform to boost brand visibility
Yango Tech, the unified ecosystem delivering tailored advanced B2B technology solutions to local businesses within Yango Group, has announced the upcoming launch of its GenAI Platform. The system is designed to help retailers and brands gain top visibility and engage with customers across AI chatbots such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Perplexity. The GenAI Platform will allow retailers to list and promote their products directly within AI-powered chat interfaces, turning everyday conversations into high-intent shopping experiences. For example, when customers search for queries like 'Best sneakers under $200' or 'Where to buy new hairstyler', retailers using the GenAI Platform can appear as the top result, providing real-time pricing and availability. 'With AI-driven neuro platforms becoming a dominant new channel for everyday search, Yango Tech's GenAI Platform marks a bold step forward,' said Max Avtukhov, Chief Executive of Yango Tech Retail. 'Today's consumers are turning to AI chat tools for everything from travel advice to tailored product suggestions, ushering in a new era of seamless personalized shopping experiences. It's a massive shift—from desktop to mobile browser search, and now to intelligent conversational platforms.' Initial rollouts of the GenAI Platform are set to begin with select retailers in the MENA region by the end of 2025. One of the key benefits for retailers is improved discoverability. Rather than depending exclusively on web or app traffic, businesses can now be featured prominently within AI chat results, aligning their offerings with high-intent product searches and increasing the likelihood of conversion. For example, a regional e-grocery retailer using Yango Tech's GenAI Platform can ensure their freshest produce is highlighted first when a customer queries meal planning options on Perplexity. 'We understand what it takes to win in this space first,' Avtukhov added. 'This shift is an entirely new commerce environment, and with our GenAI Platform, we will give retailers the infrastructure they need to not only show up but to win in this space first.' At the core of the platform is Yango Tech's MCP Router, a system that acts as a central translator and traffic manager. It collects product-related queries from different AI platforms, routes them to the merchant's content systems (known as MCPs), and delivers ranked results back to the user in real-time. The result is a new channel for conversational commerce, where customer engagement meets immediate transaction potential. The launch of the platform comes at a time of massive regional momentum. AI is projected to contribute up to $150 billion to GCC economies and the conversational AI market is projected to exhibit a growth rate of 23.6 per cent by 2033 in the region, while MENA's retail sector is expected to grow to $1.4 trillion by 2032. The GenAI Platform will also aim to facilitate multi-interface support, allowing brands to scale effortlessly across millions of daily interactions while maintaining low response times and consistent messaging. This scalability is essential as 40 per cent of the time, 80 per cent of users rely on AI when searching online. Following the MENA rollout, Yango Tech plans to expand the GenAI Platform to Latin America and other markets throughout 2026, supporting global retailers in capturing attention and revenue across the AI frontier.

NTT DATA Research Reveals C-Suite Misalignment Over GenAI Adoption
NTT DATA, a global leader in digital business and technology services, today launched its new report, 'The AI Security Balancing Act: From Risk to Innovation,' highlighting the opportunities and risks AI presents in cybersecurity. The findings show a misalignment among C-Suite leaders when it comes to business goals and operational readiness for GenAI deployment. The report, which includes data from an NTT DATA survey of more than 2,300 senior GenAI decision makers, comprising 1,500 *C-Suite leaders across 34 countries, found that while CEOs and business leaders are committed to GenAI adoption, CISOs and operational leaders lack the necessary guidance, clarity and resources to fully address security risks and infrastructure challenges associated with deployment. The C-Suite disconnect Nearly all (99%) C-Suite executives are planning further GenAI investments over the next two years, with 67% of CEOs planning significant commitments. In parallel, 95% of CIOs and CTOs report that GenAI has already driven, or will drive, greater cybersecurity investments, with organizations ranking improved security as one of the top three business benefits realized from GenAI deployment in the last 12 months. Yet, even with this optimism, there is a notable disconnect between strategic ambitions and operational execution with nearly half of CISOs (45%) expressing negative sentiments toward GenAI adoption. More than half (54%) of CISOs say internal guidelines or policies on GenAI responsibility are unclear, yet only 20% of CEOs share the same concern – revealing a stark gap in executive alignment. Despite feeling cautious about the deployment of GenAI, security teams still acknowledge its business value. In fact, 81% of senior IT security leaders with negative sentiments still agree GenAI will boost efficiency and impact the bottom-line. Organizational operations not ready for GenAI NTT DATA's research further reveals a critical gap between leadership's vision and the capabilities of their teams. While 97% of CISOs identify as decision makers on GenAI, 69% acknowledge that their teams lack the necessary skills to work with the technology. In addition, only 38% of CISOs say their GenAI and cybersecurity strategies are aligned compared to 51% of CEOs. Adding to the complexity, 72% of organizations surveyed still lack a formal GenAI usage policy and just 24% of CISOs strongly agree that their organization has a robust framework for balancing risk with value creation. Legacy tech limiting GenAI adoption Beyond internal misalignment, 88% of security leaders said legacy infrastructure is greatly affecting business agility and GenAI readiness, with modernizing IoT, 5G and edge computing identified as essential for future progress. To navigate these obstacles, 64% of CISOs are prioritizing co-innovation with strategic IT partners rather than relying on standalone AI solutions. Notably, security leaders #1 top criteria when assessing GenAI technology partners is end-to-end GenAI service offerings. 'As organizations accelerate GenAI adoption, cybersecurity must be embedded from the outset to reinforce resilience. While CEOs champion innovation, ensuring seamless collaboration between cybersecurity and business strategy is critical to mitigating emerging risks,' said Sheetal Mehta, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Cybersecurity at NTT DATA, Inc. 'A secure and scalable approach to GenAI requires proactive alignment, modern infrastructure and trusted co-innovation to protect enterprises from emerging threats while unlocking AI's full potential.' 'Collaboration is highly valued by line-of-business leaders in their relationships with CISOs. However, disconnects remain, with gaps between the organization's desired risk posture and its current cybersecurity capabilities,' said Craig Robinson, Research Vice President, Security Services at IDC. 'While the use of GenAI clearly provides benefits to the enterprise, CISOs and Global Risk and Compliance leaders struggle to communicate the need for proper governance and guardrails, making alignment with business leaders essential for implementation.' Download the full report here, and visit our website to learn more about NTT DATA's AI services for cybersecurity. Methodology The report is based on insights from 2,300 senior GenAI decision-makers across 34 countries. 68% of respondents were from the C-suite, including CEOs, CISOs, CIOs, CTOs, CDOs, COOs, CCOs, CFOs, CHROs, and CSEs. 27% held Vice President, Head of, or Director-level roles, while 5% were senior managers or specialists. This research was independently conducted for NTT DATA by Jigsaw Research, a global strategic insight agency.
