Double award winner Rocky 'emotional' to hear tributes from his teammates
Rocky Bushiri admitted he was emotional when hearing the tributes and messages from his fellow teammates at the club's Awards night,
The centre-half has been tremendous this season at the heart of the Hibs defence whilst also chipping in with a few vital goals across the campaign.
'It means a lot to me, I am with these boys every day and they are like family to me. I am extremely grateful for this award.
'I got emotional watching the video of my teammates voting for me, because it is not something we tell each other every day. It was beautiful to hear things like that.'
Rocky also won the club's Moment of the Season award for his last-minute goal against Aberdeen to tie the match 3-3 in November. That goal proved to be a huge turning point in Hibs season as they began to steadily climb the league table in the months that followed.
'To be honest, I don't remember much about that goal,' Rocky continued.
'That award was for the team – it all happened so fast, we had just come through a tough period of results and things were going against us but that goal meant so much for all of us. That goal changed everything for us.
'There are a lot of positive vibes around the Club right now and that will give us another boost going into Wednesday.
'I am very excited for the last week of the season, the pressure is a privilege. It is the most important week of our season and of our lives for some of us. I hope we will do it.
'I want to look back on the season once we have got the job done, so I need to make sure that we stay focussed right until the end.'

Doohan started his career with the Hoops but didn't manage the breakthrough before later playing for Ayr United, Ross County, Dundee United, Tranmere and Forest Green. He signed for the Dons in July, 2023, and overall has had 20 matches. Doohan's last game was the 2-2 home draw against Rangers in April. Will be disappointed he didn't make more of a back post chance to score. A decent start. 6 John Souttar - Showed great strength inside the box to hold off his marker and head home Max Johnston's wicked corner. Will be furious at the goals Scotland lost. 5 Grant Hanley - Tried to show Andri Gudjohnsen inside after Cieran Slicker's poor kick but ended up with egg on his face as he whipped it into the top corner from 25 yards. Grim night. 4 Kieran Tierney - 50th cap and a poor occasion to hit that milestone. Matched Albert Gudmindsson's runs all night before going off for debut man Lennon Miller in the closing stages. 5 Andy Robertson - Bombed up and down the left flank as he usually does but final balls were lacking the precision to really hurt Iceland. Skipper has to drag Scotland's defence out of this rot. 5 John McGinn - Patrolled the middle of the park as he usually does but nothing really came off for him high up the pitch. Scotland will need him refreshed and flying in September. 5 Billy Gilmour - Did precisely what you expect from him now. Kept possession and the ball ticking over as the link man all over the pitch. Below his best like so many. 5 Lewis Ferguson - Didn't know much about it at the own goal which put Iceland back in front. Unlucky as a comedy pinball moment saw the ball crack off him and squirm past Cieran Slicker. 5 Scott McTominay - Started on the left of midfield, tasked with supporting George Hirst. Few flashes of what he can do but a big game player so he keeps the real heroics for when it counts. 5 George Hirst - Missed an early header then denied his first Scotland goal by two great saves from the Iceland goalie then an offside call after scoring. Showed he's got some promise. 6 Subs: Cieran Slicker (Gunn 6) - Debut didn't go to plan, that's for sure. Poor kick for the opener, flailing at the second, even worse at the third. Difficult not to feel sorry for him at times. 2 Lennon Miller (Tierney 67) - First cap. 3 Scott McKenna (Hanley 67) - Shored it up a bit late on. 3 Che Adams (Hirst 67) - No chances. 3 Nathan Patterson (Johnston 79) - Replaced Johnston. 2 Tommy Conway (McTominay 79) - On for McTominay. 2 'It's something that I'm pretty sure Steve's looking at. 'It's not like a club team where you can go and buy another goalkeeper. 'So that's the difficulty. 'We have to hope that one of the goalkeepers improves enormously in the short term, which is difficult.' Scotland open up their World Cup qualifying bid against Denmark in Copenhagen in September and on our current form Levein added: 'You can't run away from it and say it's not a worry. 'It obviously is. 'And you could tell by the players after the match and the manager as well that they were extremely disappointed in the performance. 'But, honestly, it was one of those games that everything went wrong right from the very start. 'They just couldn't get it back. 'It was a really, really poor performance. 'Looking at two friendly matches at the end of the season and basing your concerns on that, I think, is not valid. 'But the fact there has been previous losses that haven't been great performances at all, that would give you a little bit more concern.' Edinburgh music legend honoured at Goodison Park
The stadium, packed with 38,000 fans, heard the familiar sound of the Z Cars theme as players from Everton and Southampton emerged onto the pitch. The tune, closely associated with Everton for decades, was arranged by Johnny Keating, a talented musician and composer born in Bakehouse Close, just off Edinburgh's Royal Mile. Keating, who passed away ten years ago this month, brought the theme to life and took it to number five in the UK music charts. Johnny Keating's musical achievements went far beyond football. He taught himself piano, trombone, arranging and composing as a teenager. In the 1960s, he helped shape the career of British pop star Eden Kane, co-writing and producing a string of hits. He also worked with artists such as Adam Faith, Petula Clark, Anthony Newley, and Sammy Davis Jr. Tony Bennett once said Keating's arrangement of The Very Thought of You was the best he had ever sung. Figures like Burt Bacharach and Beatles producer George Martin praised Keating for his talent and called him one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century. His classical compositions, including Overture 100 Pipers and Hebridean Impressions, were performed at the Royal Albert Hall. In 1972, his album Space Experience introduced innovative sound effects that were so unique, the musicians involved were sworn to secrecy. Back in Scotland, Keating was a devoted Hibernian fan. According to his family, he asked to be cremated wearing his Hibs tie. In 1973, he produced two songs for the club, Give Us a Goal, Glory to the Hibees and Turnbull's Tornadoes, which were recorded by the team at the time. I remember attending a small commemoration for Keating at the Stella Maris Club in Leith after his ashes were placed beside his parents' at Mount Vernon. The event was organised by Willie McEwan, now a Midlothian Labour councillor, and John Gibson, late of The Edinburgh Evening News. Gibson shared fond stories about Keating and the Hibs while enjoying the buffet. The room featured simple but meaningful decor, including a soft-glowing LED Crazy Neon sign that added a warm, modern touch to the gathering. Johnny Keating earned international respect and left a legacy that still resonates today. Hearing the Z Cars theme during Everton's final match at Goodison reminded many of his talent and influence. As the club prepares to move into a new stadium next season, Keating's music will likely continue to inspire fans and players alike. Hibs new signing Raphael Sallinger's career so far
Goalkeeper Raphael Sallinger signed for Hibs on a permanent transfer from TSV Hartberg this week. The Austrian will compete with Jordan Smith for the number one spot following a strong campaign in the Austrian Bundesliga. Born in Austria's sixth-largest city, Klagenfurt, Sallinger came through the youth academies of local teams FC Kärnten and FC Welzenegg. The towering keeper's first foray into senior football came in the 2012/13 season with SC Kalsdorf in the Regionalliga Central – the third tier of the Austrian football system. Aged just 17, Sallinger moved to Germany after catching the eye of FC Kaiserslautern. Impressing as a key player at a very young age for the Red Devils' reserve club, he soon earn a move to the Austrian top-flight. The goalkeeper's Austrian Bundesliga debut would arrive in April 2017 for Wolfsberger AC versus SV Mattersburg before a move to TSV Hartberg would materialise. Sallinger fought to earn the number one spot at his new club and would go on to make 106 appearances during his time at the Profertil Arena. A standout 2024/25 campaign saw Sallinger keep 12 clean sheets across all competitions, including four crucial shut-outs across five rounds to help guide Hartberg to their first ever Austrian Cup final – which they would narrowly lose 1-0 to Wolfsberger. Sallinger has represented his country at youth level, earning his Under-20 debut in 2015 while plying his trade in Germany.
