40th Santa Barbara International Film Festival Winners — Full List
As the 40th Santa Barbara International Film Festival comes to a close, the winning films have been chosen.
Claudia Puig, SBIFF director of programming, announced the winners on Saturday during a ceremony at El Encanto, following screenings, filmmaker Q&As, industry panels and celebrity tributes taking place throughout the city since Feb. 4.

Bruce Willis' challenges with dementia are well-known. His blended family's loving support for him is also clear. Fans who care about Willis seem to appreciate when his loved ones give an update about how he's doing. Sometimes those updates come from his wife Emma Heming or his ex-wife Demi Moore. Now, Willis' daughter Rumer Willis has given a peek into how her dad is doing. She spoke to People about her joy in seeing her dad and her mom interact with their grandchild, Rumer's daughter Louetta. "Even with my dad, given the challenges that he's dealing with, whenever we go over there to visit, his face just lights up and he gets so excited and is so sweet with her," she told People in May 2025, which noted that Louetta was born in 2023. "My family is so incredible with her. I feel so lucky, and she's so lucky. I mean, they are obsessed with her," Rumer told People. Rumer also told People that her daughter calls Demi Moore "Yaya." Brad Pitt makes rare comment about life with Ines De Ramon
Brad Pitt is offering a rare glimpse into his relationship with Ines De Ramon in a new interview. While the "F1" actor and De Ramon have yet to publicly confirm their romance, they made their red carpet debut together at the 2024 Venice Film Festival in September. Prior to that, the pair had attended several high-profile events such as the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's annual gala, the British Grand Prix, and the Santa Barbara Film Festival but did not pose for photos together. In an interview with GQ published Wednesday, the Oscar winner reflected on attending the 2024 British Grand Prix with De Ramon and dismissed any suggestion that their public appearance at the Formula 1 event was a strategic move. Pitt laughed off the idea. "No, dude, it's not that calculated," he said. "If you're living, oh my God, how exhausting would that be? If you're living with making those kinds of calculations? No, life just evolves. Relationships evolve." De Ramon was previously married to "Vampire Diaries" actor Paul Wesley. The couple separated in 2022, with their divorce finalized in 2024, according to court documents obtained by People. Pitt, meanwhile, was previously married to Angelina Jolie, with whom he shares six children. The former couple finalized their divorce in 2024 after years of legal proceedings. When asked if he felt relief now that the divorce had officially been settled, Pitt responded, "No, I don't think it was that major of a thing. Just something coming to fruition. Legally." As for navigating his personal life in the public eye, Pitt admitted, "My personal life is always in the news. It's been in the news for 30 years, bro. Or some version of my personal life, let's put it that way." "It's been an annoyance I've had to always deal with in different degrees, large and small, as I do the things I really want to do," he continued. So, it's always been this kind of nagging time suck or waste of time, if you let it be that, I don't know." He added: "Mostly I feel pretty... My life is fairly contained.
