Calls Mount for Wyndham Clark's Suspension After Alleged U.S. Open Incident
Calls Mount for Wyndham Clark's Suspension After Alleged U.S. Open Incident originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club has put the best golfers in the world to the toughest test this week. It presents next-to-impossible scoring conditions and golf rounds that last well over five hours.

On Saturday, PGA star Rory McIlroy admitted that he was indifferent about making the cut on Friday afternoon, saying that he wasn't sure he wanted to play two more rounds over the weekend.
What Wyndham Clark allegedly did after missing the cut, though, was far worse.
According to a report from Tron Carter, Clark vandalized the locker room at the historic Oakmont Country Club after his round on Friday, damaging several of the lockers.
Clark shot a four-over 74 in both the first and second round, and his eight-over score missed the cut by one stroke. To make matters worse, Clark bogeyed his final hole of the day to miss the cut.

While we wait for further reporting on Clark's alleged actions, the blowback on social media has been rather drastic. Here's a look at what fans are saying about the reported outburst from the 2023 U.S. Open champion:
"That's a historical locker room too id ban him from ever playing there again tbh," one fan said.
"This is unacceptable anywhere. He's a guest of Oakmont. You don't do this ever," another added.
"Not even close to acceptable, for a pro or amateur," one fan commented. "He should be suspended. Imagine being a guest at a club and doing that after the round."
"He should be suspended," another fan added. "This is ridiculous. The tour and the USGA should make statements strongly condemning the club throwing, profanity, and all the other antics that have become the norm in the professional game."

Since winning the U.S. Open two years ago at Los Angeles Country Club, Clark has seen his game take a bit of a dip. He won once in 2024 at Pebble Beach, but has not been back into the winner's circle since, placing in the top 10 in just one of the 15 tournaments he's played this season.

US Open tee times: Full schedule for final round at Oakmont
Sam Burns takes a one-shot lead into the final round of the US Open at Oakmont in pursuit of his first major, with the likes of Adam Scott, JJ Spaun and Viktor Hovland on his tail. Burns sits at four-under for the tournament and will form a final pairing with veteran Scott, who rolled back the years on Saturday in search of a first major victory in 12 years, firing a three-under-par 67 to be tied for second with Spaun at three-under. Advertisement Hovland is the only other man in the red at one-under, while Englishman Tyrrell Hatton impressed with a third-round 68 to surge up the leaderboard to one-over – five strokes behind Burns. It is as you were for world No 1 Scottie Scheffler, who carded an even-par 70 to remain at four-over-par and is out of contention barring a miraculous round. Meanwhile, defending US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau and record six-times runner-up Phil Mickelson were among the high-profile players to miss the halfway cut earlier in a brutal week. Here are the full tee times for the final round at Oakmont US Open round four tee times All times BST, nationality US unless stated
