Ishaan Khatter Dropped 10 Kilos in 2 Months for 'Homebound': Here's How He Did It
Last Updated:
"I lost about 8–10 kilos… to play a 21-22-year-old boy," shared Ishaan Khatter.
Ishaan Khatter, who impressed audiences with his chiseled six-pack abs and sculpted physique in the series Royals, recently opened up about the challenge of transforming his body for a very different role. For his upcoming film Homebound, the actor had to shed nearly 10 kilos and strip away his muscle mass to fit the character's look.
In a candid conversation with Mashable India, Ishaan revealed, 'After Royals, I had to lose weight for Homebound. In fact, not only weight, when I met the director, he told me to lose all my muscles. 'You have to look normal.' So, it became a disadvantage. I completely understood why he said that. I lost about 8–10 kilos… to play a 21-22-year-old boy," he shared.
When it comes to fitness, Ishaan believes in the power of persistence over shortcuts. 'It's consistency. I know it's a boring answer, but it's the truth. Aap lagey raho. Just do enough so that you don't get demotivated by fatigue the next day. Don't push yourself over the edge," he said.
He also warned against the pitfalls of extreme approaches, especially those spurred by short-lived motivation. 'People have these bursts of enthusiasm like around New Year where they hit the gym hard and then burn out. But we are made to move. We're designed to move. Just find your own way of doing it."

After saying he quit alcohol, Aamir Khan admits he got ‘blackout drunk' on 60th birthday, doesn't remember any of the speeches guests made about him
Actor Aamir Khan, who recently turned 60, said that he doesn't remember anything that happened at the party his family threw for him, because he drank too much. He said that speeches were made about him, but he doesn't remember them. He woke up the next day to zero memory of what had happened, even though he had pictures and videos to look at. Aamir is currently promoting his new film, Sitaare Zameen Par, and he appeared in an interview with Mashable India, where he spoke about cutting down on his alcohol consumption. He said, 'Everyone organised a birthday party for me on my 60th. They invited all my near and dear ones, it was supposed to be a memorable day. I don't drink much these, I've cut down alcohol consumption to almost zero. But that day, because it was a big birthday, everybody insisted that I have a drink or two. The thing with me is that I'm not someone who restricts himself; I'm an extreme person. And because I haven't been drinking much, my body wasn't used to it. We started at around 7 pm, and by 9 pm, I knew that I was buzzing.' When I woke up the next morning, I had no memory of the previous evening. There were videos and photos, and they told me that everyone said nice things about me, but I didn't remember anything. It was a blackout. I was conducting myself normally during the party, but I have zero memories of my 60th birthday celebration. I was reacting to what people were saying about me, but the memory has been wiped out completely.' It was a few years ago that Aamir first claimed to have gone sober because of his past experiences with alcohol. In a conversation with Nana Patekar last year, he said, 'I smoke a pipe. Now I have quit drinking but at one point, I used to drink. And when I used to drink, I would drink all night. I could not stop.' He said that he sank into a deep depression following his divorce from first wife Reena. 'I couldn't sleep at night, and I started drinking. From someone who didn't drink at all, I went to being someone who drank an entire bottle in a day. I was like Devdas, someone who is trying to destroy themselves. I did that for 1.5 years. I was in a deep depression,' he told Instant Bollywood.

Palak Tiwari calls mom Shweta Tiwari a ‘strong woman'; says ‘I knew whatever I would do in life I will have her backing'
Palak Tiwari , who is steadily making her mark in Bollywood, recently opened up about the deep influence her mother Shweta Tiwari has had on her life and career. Coming from a family of strong women, Palak spoke to Mashable India about how their resilience shaped her outlook. "My mom being an overachiever takes the pressure off me. In my family, we have the heritage of strong women. My nani, then my mom, all the elder women in the family are overachievers," Palak said. She further recalled how her grandmother stood by her mother during her early career struggles. "My nani was a clerk at a law office. She was very intelligent. When my mom wanted to pursue acting, everyone was against her but my nani supported her. That reduces the pressure. My mother was raised by a strong woman and my mom is a strong woman. So, I knew no matter what I do, I will have my mother's backing." Sharing a light-hearted memory from her childhood, Palak added, 'My mom's eyes are enough to scare me. She only slapped me once. Main khane ke liye bahut natak karti thi. Main khana nahi khaati thi. We had a dog, Tobby, who's no more with us. He was young then. He would eat everything. Mom gave Bournvita, and she told me to drink it but instead Tobby licked it. My mom slapped me hard, but that was the first and last time. She was scared of her nail extension and Tobby also got stressed. ' Shweta Tiwari, known for her iconic role in Kasautii Zindagii Kay, has built a successful television career, navigating both professional highs and personal challenges with grace and strength. Meanwhile, Palak entered the industry with her Bollywood debut in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, starring opposite Salman Khan, and is now steadily establishing herself. Their beautiful bond is a perfect example of love, support, and strength between a mother and daughter.

Chandan K. Anand On Homebound And Kankhajura: 'You Must Embody The Soul Of...'
Last Updated: Chandan K. Anand discusses his roles in Kankhajura and Homebound, collaborating with Neeraj Ghaywan and Janhvi Kapoor, and why complex characters demand soul, not technique. Actor Chandan K. Anand, known for his compelling performances in Class, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, Fighter, and Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul, is making waves once again with two standout projects—SonyLiv's psychological drama Kankhajura and Dharma Productions' Homebound, which recently premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. In Kankhajura, Anand portrays Roshan Mathew's jail-mate, a role laced with psychological complexity and restrained menace. For Anand, stepping into such roles isn't just about rehearsing lines or hitting marks—it's a deeper, more immersive process. 'It's never easy to portray complex characters — because it's not just about acting. As actors, we hone our craft for years, but to live a complex character, you must go beyond technique. You must embody the soul of that character so completely that no trace of 'acting' remains," he shares. He calls the script his 'sacred text," saying he read it more than a hundred times before shooting began. 'I kept visualizing it, diving into the hidden meanings, symbols, subtext. Then I built a personal backstory, something imaginative yet deeply rooted. Eventually, your breath changes, your eyes shift, your energy transforms — and you stop performing. You start being. That's when the magic begins." While details about his role in Homebound remain under wraps, Anand speaks of the experience with visible emotion and gratitude. 'At this point, I can't reveal too much about my character — but what I can say is that working on Homebound has been nothing short of a dream. To collaborate with Neeraj Ghaywan sir, whose cinema I deeply respect, and under Dharma Productions, has been a milestone for me." He also praised his co-stars, Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, and Vishal Jethwa, for bringing their own unique energies to the set. 'Sharing screen space with Janhvi, Ishaan, and Vishal — actors with such distinct energies — elevated the experience. When you're surrounded by passionate storytellers, it sharpens your own craft. I'm not chasing stardom, but I know I'm walking the path with sincerity and fire. And when people like Neeraj sir trust your performance, it feels like you're not just acting — you're arriving." Although he wasn't able to attend Cannes physically, Anand felt the weight and wonder of being part of a film that earned such an international spotlight. 'I wasn't present at Cannes physically, but being part of a film that screened there — and was loved — is surreal in itself. It's a blessing. Knowing that international audiences are watching and feeling something we created — that's what we live for as actors." First Published:
