28 arrested for illegal entry in Oman
Salalah – The Dhofar Governorate Police Command, in coordination with the Special Task Police Unit in Salalah, has arrested 28 individuals of African nationality, including two Asians, for illegally entering the country.
Authorities confirmed that legal procedures are currently underway against the arrested individuals. The Royal Oman Police continues to enhance border security and intensify efforts to combat illegal immigration.
Residents are urged to report any suspicious activities related to unlawful entry by contacting the authorities through official channels.

Royal Oman Police thwarts smuggling operations
Muscat: The Royal Oman Police(ROP) has successfully thwarted two separate smuggling operations in different parts of the country. In the first incident, the South Sharqiyah Governorate Police arrested four Omani citizens for attempting to smuggle large quantities of tobacco. The suspects reportedly unloaded the contraband on a beach in the Ashkhara of Jaalan Bani Bu Ali and transported it in two fish transport trucks to conceal their illegal activity. Legal procedures against them are underway. Meanwhile, customs officials at the Hamasa border checkpoint intercepted an Omani citizen trying to smuggle a Vietnamese national into the country. HM pardons 645 prisoners ahead of Eid Al Adha
Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, has issued a Royal pardon to a number of prisoners convicted of different cases. They included 645 prisoners, according to the Royal Oman Police (ROP). The Royal pardon of His Majesty the Sultan coincides with the blessed Eid Al Adha 1446 AH. It also comes in consideration of families of the prisoners.

International drug gang busted in Oman; expats arrested
Muscat: Two foreign nationals have been arrested in Oman for their involvement with an international criminal network in the smuggling of 50 kilograms of crystal meth, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) confirmed. ROP said in a statement :"Following a high-level tracking operation, the Directorate General of Combatting Drugs and Psychotropic Substances in North Al Batinah Governorate Police Command, in cooperation with the General Directorate for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, successfully apprehended two individuals of Bangladeshi nationality in the act." " The suspects were found to have collaborated with an international criminal network in the smuggling of 50 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, which had been concealed on one of the beaches of Wilayat Shinas after being trafficked by sea. Legal procedures are currently being finalized against them, " the statement added.
