Aberdeen domestic abuser who drove car at ex-girlfriend ignored court order
An Aberdeen domestic abuser has been given more community service after breaching a court order not to contact his victim.
Jordan MacDonald had been given a non-harassment order banning him from contact with his ex-partner.
MacDonald, 25, previously admitted acting in a threatening and abusive manner towards the woman and one of her friends during an incident on Aberdeen's Beach Boulevard in 2023.
Macdonald was convicted of driving his car towards the woman, who was narrowly pulled to safety by her friend.
Speaking to the Press and Journal, she said: 'I froze, my friend had to drag me out of the way.
'He tried to run me over – it's been terrifying.'
For the offence of driving the car at the woman and of carrying out domestic abuse towards her in a three-month period of the same year, MacDonald was given a Community Payback Order as a direct alternative to custody.
The charges states MacDonald drove his car 'at speed' and close to where his ex-partner and her friend were standing – placing them in a state of fear and alarm.
Then, on various occasions on streets around Aberdeen, he repeatedly drove his car slowly past her, shouting, swearing and uttering threats of violence towards her.
For this, he was placed under supervision for 12 months and ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.
Appearing at Aberdeen Sheriff Court last week, MacDonald was found guilty of breaching a bail order by contacting the woman in September last year – while awaiting the trial for the Beach Boulevard offence.
For that MacDonald, of Auskerry Avenue, Aberdeen, was given 100 more hours of unpaid work, which he must carry out within 12 months.
MacDonald is currently being investigated over allegations he tried to make contact with his ex-partner again.
She said: 'It's made me really angry, he basically got away with it.
'I've told the police, but I don't think they have found him yet.'
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'We received a report of a non-harassment order being breached and enquiries are ongoing.'

The family of a Scottish teenager who disappeared more than a month ago have vowed to never give up on their 'fight for the truth' after a body was found on Friday. Cole Cooper, 19, was reported missing on May 9, prompting a major search investigation that involved helicopters, divers and financial investigators. He was last seen by his family on May 2 or 3 and was captured on CCTV at about 6am on May 4 in Longcroft, Falkirk, as he unsuccessfully tried to access his father's home after a house party. The family, who described Mr Cooper as their 'world' and said they were 'completely broken', also thanked the local community for their assistance in the widespread search effort to bring their missing boy home. On Friday, a Police Scotland spokesman confirmed that the body of a man had been discovered in a wooded area near Kilysth Road. It added: 'Formal identification has yet to take place however the family of missing man Cole Cooper, 19, has been informed. 'Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances.' The final sighting of Mr Cooper was at 8.45pm on May 7, on the A803 at the intersection with Cumbernauld Road, Longcroft, when he asked a school friend for a lift - which was not given. Around 5ft10ins, of medium build with brown short hair, he was last seen wearing a black puffer-style jacket with black jogging bottoms. His family described the missing boy's disappearance as 'completely out of character'. In a heartfelt plea made just two weeks ago, Mr Cooper's mother Wendy Stewart begged her son to 'come home'. She said: 'I love and miss you so so so much. Where are you son? My heart is breaking I just want a big cuddle from you son.' The worried mother also posted a touching video of Mr Cooper singing into a microphone and dancing with her, with the caption 'Please help get my gorgeous, kind loving boy back to me'. Following his shock disappearance, an online portal was established to help share footage, images and possible lines of inquiry. Detectives, who said they received 'numerous' submissions from members of the public, viewed more than 2000 hours of CCTV. Officers also reported that the investigation was being treated as a missing person's inquiry rather than a criminal probe. Chief Inspector Alex Hatrick, the local area commander, said on June 6: Our priority remains tracing Cole and getting answers for his family on his whereabouts. 'We have a dedicated team, including specialist officers and national resources, following all lines of inquiry. 'Specialist search teams as well as the air support and dive and marine units have been searching Longcroft and the surrounding area. 'I would like to thank the public for the support they've shown for this investigation and all the information provided to police. It shows the community is as committed to finding Cole as we are.' CI Hatrick also urged any members of the public with information relevant to Mr Cooper's disappearance to get in touch with the force. He said: 'I continue to urge anyone with information on Mr Cooper's movements or whereabouts to come forward. 'No matter how significant you believe that information is, it could prove vital.' A repeat Aberdeen offender who was seen brandishing a knife in public has been warned by a sheriff that he will be jailed if he comes before him again. Kyle Donald appeared in the dock at Aberdeen Sheriff Court and admitted charges related to waving a blade around outside a woman's property in the Woodside area of the city this spring. Donald, 28, also admitted uttering homophobic slurs towards police officers during a separate incident in 2023. His solicitor told the court that Donald had pulled out the knife in self defence after two strangers walked into a flat where he was taking drugs and 'all hell broke loose'. An Elgin man who offered one underage girl cash for sex and another victim images of himself in nappies has been spared jail. Alex Bruce, 21, contacted his first victim, who was aged just 14, in the spring of 2023. He flattered her with compliments before offering her money to visit his home and have sex with him. Bruce went onto target a second girl, sending her videos of him shopping for nappies – and wearing them. A 30-year-old man has appeared in court accused of stabbing his mother to death in Inverness. Thomas Fraser is also accused of attempting to murder his father during the incident in the Merkinch area of the city on Sunday, June 1. Fraser's 55-year-old father, Ian, and his mother, Miriam Macdonald, 51, were taken to Raigmore Hospital with serious injuries but Mrs Macdonald later died. He then restrained her before raping her by having sex without her consent. A youth who attacked a 15-year-old boy with a machete in Elgin has avoided being locked up after a court was told he had 'been bullied all his life'. David Prystajko, 44, appeared in the dock at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, where he admitted behaving in a threatening manner towards busy hospital staff as they tried to care for patients earlier this year. Prystajko appeared outside a ward at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and asked staff to retrieve money from his sick mother. Michael Jackson, 46, finally snapped after 'many months' of people teasing him with impressions of the late singer and confronted one of his alleged bullies in the pub after a night of drinking. Inverness Sheriff Court was told Jackson, from Kyle, told the man: 'I will f****** tear you apart' and police were called. A jury had been told last month that Brown would consistently shout, swear and act aggressively towards his victim. Former Aberdeen FC player Jay Emmanuel-Thomas has been jailed for four years for his involvement in a £600,000 drug smuggling plot after a court heard his financial difficulties after a period out of contract led to a 'catastrophic error of judgment'. Jay Emmanuel-Thomas was arrested after officers from the National Crime Agency seized an estimated £600,000 of cannabis as it was being brought through Stansted Airport by two women he had recruited – his girlfriend and her friend. An earlier hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court in Essex was told the women believed they were importing gold. But Border Force officers detected roughly 60kg (132lb) of the drug in two suitcases, which had arrived in the UK from Bangkok, Thailand, via Dubai. Williamson had denied both the charges, the first of which details how he uttered sexual remarks towards his victim on Alness' High Street on September 1 last year The second charge details how Williamson sexually assaulted the same woman on the same day by repeatedly seizing hold of her body and pulling her towards him. A man who assaulted his partner's ex, leaving him with fractures and bruising, is 'ashamed of himself' for the 'heat of the moment' crime. James Potter fought with the man, repeatedly punching him in the head and body, and pushing him to the ground. He also pushed his victim against railings and pinned him against trolleys during the incident at Morrisons supermarket in Millburn Road, Inverness. Potter, 30, appeared for sentencing at Inverness Sheriff Court having previously admitted the assault under provocation. A rapist who attacked a woman in her own Peterhead home four times over 90 minutes has been caged for eight years. Giedrius Urbonavicius, from Lithuania, was convicted by majority verdict following a week-long trial at the High Court in Aberdeen two months ago. The 54-year-old, who still maintains his innocence, will now be on the sex offenders register indefinitely and faces another three years of being on licence when he is eventually released back into the community. He was sentenced for the crime at the High Court in Aberdeen on Wednesday. An Inverness teenager has been given the opportunity to change her criminal behaviour to avoid going to jail.
