Tributes have poured in following the death of John Reid, the acclaimed Glasgow-born DJ and vocalist behind Nightcrawlers. John has died at the age of 61.
Beyond his dance floor success, Reid built a notable songwriting career, penning Tina Turner's 1999 hit 'When the Heartache Is Over', contributing tracks for Rod Stewart, and co-writing Westlife's UK No.1 'Unbreakable'. The former Crookston Castle student also helped craft 'A Moment Like This', performed by both Kelly Clarkson and Leona Lewis.

Love Island's Laura Anderson slammed after she backs Meg in clash with new bombshell

The feud between the girls has divided the villa TAKING SIDES Love Island's Laura Anderson slammed after she backs Meg in clash with new bombshell Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LOVE Island alumni Laura Anderson has come under fire from fans for backing Megan Moore amid her fallout with bombshell Malisha Jordan. Scots-born Laura, who starred in Love Island in 2018, has thrown her weight behind Meg for branding Malisha "disrespectful". Malisha, meanwhile, hit back and told Meg - who is coupled up with fitness coach Dejon - to "grow up". The bombshell called her "an idiot" and pointed out that Meg had only known Dejon for a matter of days. But despite the majority of the population siding with Malisha, with some fans even threatening to complain to Ofcom about Meg's reaction, Laura is backing the other horse. Commenting on Love Island's official Instagram account, 36-year-old Laura wrote: "#TeamMegs." Slamming mum-of-one Laura, one viewer of the ITV2 show replied: "No sis sorry check ur girl." Another added: "Wrong team darling." A third wrote: "I can't believe you." And someone else remarked: "That says a lot about you." But another Love Island fan told they "100 per cent" agreed with her. Love Island fans slam Meg for 'trying to be iconic' as she furiously confronts rival and villa descends into chaos Meg and Malisha's row has been escalating over the past few days. It began when Malisha entered the villa on Friday night and took Dejon on a date - all under the watchful eyes of Meg. She and the rest of the Love Island OG girls were watching on a big screen in the villa garden. At the time, Meg even branded Malisha a "b****", despite not having met her in person yet. A feud then exploded between the girls on Sunday night after Malisha had returned to the villa with Dejon and asked if he'd like to chat in The Hideaway. The row left Malisha in tears and, as a result, has caused a divide in the villa. Alima Gagigo was quick to comfort her before confronting Meg and the other girls about their treatment of Malisha. Storming outside, she urged them all to be kind. Shakira Khan and Toni Laites have also thrown their support behind the newbie, insisting that Malisha's actions were not "disrespectful". Robert set to become John's next victim in Emmerdale drugging nightmare

From side-stepping the Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) drama to fending off his husband's ex, John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) is jumping from one fire to another in Emmerdale, and he's only just holding it together. Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) unexpectedly and unceremoniously gate-crashed John and Aaron Dingle's (Danny Miller) wedding, disrupting their vows and giving Aaron pause for thought as to whether to go ahead. Luckily for John, he did, and even more luck came his way when Robert was sent back to prison for breaking his bail conditions. But John's peace was once again disrupted when a letter arrived from the prison containing a visitation request for Aaron. Initially thinking the visit would tempt Aaron away from his new marriage, John hid the letter, but Aaron proved his loyalty once he found it and threw it in the bin. John was daft to think it might end there, as though Aaron chose not to visit his ex, Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) did, and found her brother in such a state it left Aaron feeling awful at refusing to show his face. There's another negative surprise in store for John when not long after, Robert shows up back in the village to make his life a living hell once more. Robert's time back in the village becomes as eventful as the wedding day when he accidentally gives Vic a black eye. Having only just come home, he decides he must move out. He gets himself a trial at the depot but John puts pressure on Caleb (William Ash) to end it, leaving Robert gutted when he finds himself being let go. But a bumbling Jai (Chris Bisson) lets slip that it was John's doing. Robert confronts him, but it only spurs John on further to get this man out of his life. He tries to convince Vic to go to the police and report him for assault, which Robert overhears. He tries to get Aaron onside, but Aaron rejects him. In response to all this negativity, Robert starts drinking and sleeping around but it doesn't have the desired effect on Aaron, who couldn't care less. An East Village grocery store is transforming into an art gallery this month

If you've ever pondered the aesthetic potential of the bodega chip rack, the East Village has just the show for you. Village Gourmet Grocery, the corner store on 2nd Avenue and East 6th Street, is doubling as an art gallery this month, thanks to the nomadic Desnivel Gallery and its founder, artist-curator Maria De Victoria. From now through June 29, the shop's usual offerings of gum, soda and canned beans are sharing space with EN EL KIOSCO, a dreamy and tactile new exhibition by Miami-born artist Juan Jose Heredia. The solo show features paintings rendered on soft fabrics—burlap, mostly—evoking a sense of motion and meditative depth. Heredia, who draws inspiration from the hazy visuals of North Miami and the oceanic pull of surfing, describes painting as 'the only place you can go and deal with color, or with the temperature of being human.' The pieces are sensual and saturated—some figurative, others nearly abstract—and arranged throughout the shop in a way that almost dares you to accidentally knock one over while reaching for a Red Bull. One standout work, 'Bunny ears of absence,' features a pink-eared figure suspended in swirling red, yellow and turquoise tones. Another, 'Anemone Cerberus,' is darker and more ambiguous, where shape and symbolism flirt with the viewer's imagination like pareidolia in action. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Desnivel Gallery (@desnivelgallery) Desnivel Gallery, formerly housed in De Victoria's home basement, has reemerged in street-level East Village storefronts with a mission: 'to highlight the financial challenges of running an art space' and make visual art more accessible to everyday New Yorkers. 'Desnivel aims to increase visibility and accessibility,' De Victoria told EV Grieve, 'allowing the artwork to be seen and experienced at various times of the day.' Mission accomplished: Village Gourmet Grocery is open daily from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. (3 a.m. on weekends), which means you can catch a contemporary art show while grabbing late-night snacks or your morning iced coffee. If you want to go deeper, ask the person behind the counter to show you Heredia's personal sketchbooks tucked away at the register. Just don't forget to pay for your pretzels.
