Official: Real Betis youngster seals Celta Vigo return

Yahoo30-01-2025

La Liga outfit Celta Vigo have on Thursday announced the return of a former member of the club's attacking ranks.
The player to have penned terms with the Celestes through the summer? Iker Losada.
Youngster Losada for his part sealed a departure from Balaídos back in the summer of 2023, when his search for regular game-time at senior level led the 23-year-old to Racing Ferrol.
His time in Spain's 2nd tier, however, did not last long, as Losada's excellence across the 2023/24 campaign culminated in a return to La Liga with Real Betis.
Across the opening half of the term, the versatile attacker/midfielder went on to play something of a bit-part role for Manuel Pellegrini's side, to the tune of 10 league appearances, but just three starts.
Recent weeks, in turn, had seen it suggested that Losada could soon be on the move once more.
And, as alluded to above, on Thursday, precisely as much has been confirmed.
As per a statement across their website and social media platforms, Celta Vigo have snapped up the club's academy graduate on loan for the remainder of the term:

Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe will not be available for the team's match against Pachuca in the Club World Cup (OSCAR DEL POZO) Ill Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe will not travel to Charlotte for the team's Club World Cup match against Pachuca, a club source told AFP Saturday. The French superstar was taken to hospital on Thursday for tests and treatment after suffering gastroenteritis, before later being released. Advertisement Mbappe is improving "bit by bit" said the club source, but he will not fly with his team-mates for Sunday's match against Mexican side Pachuca. The 26-year-old missed the opening game with the same illness as Madrid were held 1-1 by Al-Hilal in Xabi Alonso's debut as coach. Madrid B-team player Gonzalo Garcia, 21, started in Mbappe's stead and opened the scoring for Real Madrid against their Saudi Arabian opponents. Mbappe finished as the European Golden Shoe winner in his first season at Real Madrid with 31 goals in La Liga and 43 across all competitions, but Los Blancos finished the season without a major trophy. rbs/ea

Barcelona star sends thank you message to Neymar

The 17-year-old grew up watching the Brazilian light up the Camp Nou, alongside attacking partners in crime Lionel Messi, and Luis Suárez. Afforded some rare time off following the conclusion of Spain's Nations League campaign earlier this month, Lamine, in turn, jetted out to Brazil, to spend some time with Neymar himself. The pair were this week spotted out taking in the sun, playing football, eating, and enjoying the local sights. And as alluded to above, on Saturday, Lamine has moved to send a message of thanks to the ex-Barcelona standout. 🍿 What to watch for in the second leg of the big promotion final to LaLiga

This Saturday, at 21:00 hours, the Nuevo Carlos Tartiere Stadium will be the stage for a match that could change the history of Spanish football. Real Oviedo and CD Mirandés face off in the second leg of the grand final for promotion to LALIGA, the first division of Spanish football. After a 1-0 victory for Mirandés in the first leg at Anduva, everything is still to be decided. Advertisement Oviedo needs to make a comeback, while Mirandés dreams of achieving the first promotion in their history. Here we tell you four key details you can't miss in this thrilling encounter. Football is much more than 22 players running after a ball. It's emotion, strategy, and moments that can be etched in memory forever. This match has all the ingredients to be unforgettable, and these are the points that will keep your eyes glued to the screen or the stands. The duel on the benches: Paunovic vs. Lisci In such an important match, coaches are like film directors: their decisions can change everything. On one side, there's Veljko Paunovic, the coach of Real Oviedo, who has transformed the team since his arrival. Under his leadership, Oviedo hasn't lost a single match and comes with the confidence of playing at home. On the other side, Alessio Lisci, the coach of CD Mirandés, has surprised everyone by taking a team designed to avoid relegation to the playoff finals. Who will be more astute with their tactics? Paunovic will try to use the energy of the Oviedo fans, while Lisci will bet on keeping his team calm and orderly. The magic of Santi Cazorla: the heart of Oviedo If there is one player who carries the hopes of Real Oviedo, it is Santi Cazorla, the captain and star of the team. At 40 years old, this magician with the ball has shown that age is not a barrier. In the first leg, he scored a stunning goal in the semifinals against Almería, and now he wants to lead his team back to LALIGA, where they haven't played for 24 years. For Santi, this match is special: he grew up in Oviedo and dreams of returning the club to the elite. Every pass, every dribble of his can be decisive. Will the captain inspire his teammates? The pressure of the fans at the Tartiere The Nuevo Carlos Tartiere Stadium will be packed to the brim, with thousands of Oviedo fans pushing their team forward. Oviedo's fans are known for their passion, and in a match like this, their support can be like an extra player on the field. In the first leg, Mirandés took advantage of their stadium to win 1-0, but now Oviedo has the home advantage. However, the pressure can also backfire: if things don't go well, nerves could surface. For the young players of Mirandés, playing in front of such an intense rival crowd will be a trial by fire. Can they withstand it? The historic dream of Mirandés CD Mirandés is the surprise team of this final. No one expected such a humble club, accustomed to fighting against relegation, to come this far. Their victory against Racing de Santander in the semifinals was a feat, and now they are one step away from making history. The "jabatos" (as Mirandés players are called) play without pressure, with the hope of achieving their first promotion to LALIGA. Their brave style and teamwork make them dangerous, but they will need to keep a cool head to withstand Oviedo's push. Can those from Miranda de Ebro pull off the big upset?
