Amazon expands next day delivery to more rural communities

June 24 (UPI) -- Amazon announced its plans to expand Prime delivery to smaller cities, towns, and rural communities by the end of 2025 on Tuesday.
The company listed locations including North Padre Island, Texas; Asbury, Iowa; Lewes, Del. and Fort Seneca, Ohio, in a press release while prompting customers to use an online tracker to see if they are eligible for Prime delivery.
"Everybody loves fast delivery. So, whether you live in Monmouth, Iowa or in downtown Los Angeles, now you're going to have the same fantastic Amazon customer experience: the ability to get the wide variety of items you need to keep your household running every day, delivered the same or next day," said Doug Herrington, CEO of Worldwide Amazon Stores.
Amazon said, it is investing more than $4 billion to triple the size of its delivery network by 2026. Its working on transforming existing rural delivery stations into hybrid hubs with storing inventories for quicker delivery.
Amazon uses machine learning algorithms to learn what items local Prime members need and curates them in those areas. Wild bird food in Dubuque, Iowa, travel backpacks in Findlay, Ohio, and sun body butter in Sharptown, Md., are some examples cited by Amazon.
Jamil Ghani, Amazon's global vice president of Amazon Prime, cited same-day delivery, which is available to Prime members in many cities throughout the United States on purchases that exceed $25, as one of members' "favorite benefits."
The company noted that the expansion allows more customers in rural areas to benefit from same-day shipping when purchasing "everyday essentials" such as groceries and household goods.
"These items are speed-critical, and when customers need them, they often want them delivered as soon as possible. No one wants to wait two days to receive paper towels, diapers, or dog food when they've run out," the company said.

"The news that Bezos has run away from the Misericordia is a great victory for us," Tommaso Cacciari, a leader of the No Space for Bezos campaign that is leading the anti-wedding front, told the ABC. The group has vowed to make the event a "nightmare" for attendees, planning more protests on Saturday along Venice's canals, bridges and narrow streets. Bezos got engaged to Sanchez in 2023, four years after the breakdown of his 25-year marriage to Mackenzie Scott.

The 15-inch model's deal is applied automatically, and the discount applies to all colors. The 13-inch version requires that you manually apply an on-page coupon, and maximum savings are only available for the Midnight and Starlight versions. Apple MacBook Air 13-Inch (M4, 16GB, 256GB) This has seriously become the laptop I recommend the most lately. Especially considering deals are becoming quite common. This one is a little better than usual, though. While it's commonly $50-$100 off, the Apple MacBook Air 13-Inch with M4 is $149.01 off today. Apple hasn't been messing with the MacBook Air design in the last few iterations. They all kind of look the same, and it would actually be hard to tell them apart side by side. Not to mention, battery life is pretty generous, at up to 18 hours. Apple MacBook Air 15-Inch (M4, 16GB, 256GB) If you prefer a larger screen, the Apple MacBook Air M4 is also available in a 15-inch version. It is actually pretty similar to the smaller model. The most obvious difference is that it comes with that larger 15.3-inch display (instead of 13.6 inches). The definition is higher at 2,880 x 1,864. Of course, the whole laptop is slightly bigger, too, and it weighs more at 3.3 lbs, instead of 2.7 lbs. Because it is larger, Apple managed to make some slight improvements in other areas, though. It has a better six-speaker sound system, instead of the four speakers on the 13-inch model. As a nice little extra, you'll also get a 35W Dual USB-C port Compact Power Adapter, instead of the single-port 30W one. In summary, you are pretty much paying for a larger screen, slightly better audio, and a nicer charger. You'd be hard-pressed to find any better deal than this one, so jump on these offers while you can.
