College World Series predictions, picks for Day 6: Semifinals set
OMAHA, NE ― The semifinals of the 2025 Men's College World Series get underway Wednesday, June 18.
Coastal Carolina will take on Louisville (2 p.m. ET) and LSU will face Arkansas (7 p.m. ET) at Charles Schwab Field to close out the double-elimination bracket. The Chanticleers and Tigers need just one win, while the Cardinals and Razorbacks need to win twice.

On Day 5, Louisville defeated Oregon State, 7-6, and Arkansas defeated UCLA, 7-3.
The two bracket winners will face off in a best-of-three championship series for the national title.

Louisville vs Coastal Carolina prediction
Coastal Carolina 4, Louisville 2 — Coastal Carolina hasn't hit a single home run in Omaha, the only team still left to say so. But the Chanticleers have won with pitching and defense, and they're set up to be able to return Riley Eikhoff for the semifinals after a short start in Game 1. Louisville has had several incredible comebacks in Omaha, but the Cardinals are low on reliable pitching and its defense has left a bit to be desired.

Arkansas vs LSU prediction
Arkansas 7, LSU 5 ― Arkansas will have its back against the wall playing its third straight elimination game. But LSU will likely be without Kade Anderson, Anthony Eyanson and Casan Evans for this game after a rain delay forced the Tigers to pull Eyanson early from his start. The Razorbacks have more to play for in this one and their offense finally started to come alive against UCLA.

Three key stats from LSU baseball's win over UCLA in College World Series LSU baseball prevailed in the postponed game against UCLA during the College World Series. The No. 6 seed scored four runs in five innings on Tuesday to defeat the Bruins 9-5 and bring its record to 2-0 in Omaha. The Tigers relied on true freshman Casan Evans to pitch the majority of the contest, with starter Anthony Eyanson forced to the dugout. He turned in 4.1 scoreless innings with five strikeouts and without or walk. Cooper Williams and Chase Shores combined to end the game. UCLA came in with a bullpen heralded as one of the most talented and deepest groups in the country. Between Monday and Tuesday, it sent eight pitchers to the mound. Starter Landon Stump was charged with the loss, surrendering five runs through two innings. Jared Jones batted in three of those runs with a home run to open the Tigers' scoring on Monday. He stayed hot on Tuesday, as did the top half of LSU's lineup. Here are three key statistics to LSU's win over UCLA in the College World Series. Jared Jones: Four RBIs Extra work with head coach Jay Johnson during Sunday's practice paid off for Jones. He totaled four RBI, including three on a home run in the first inning, two hits, and two runs. The stellar performance comes after a 0-5 showing in the opener against Arkansas. As a result of a slump, Jones moved down in the batting order but Johnson remained confident in the junior slugger. He's finding rhythm at the right time as LSU prepares to continue its run in Omaha. First five hitters score nine runs The first five hitters in LSU's lineup — Derek Curiel, Ethan Frey, Steven Milam, Jake Brown and Jared Jones — scored all nine runs in the contest against the Bruins. Not only are they getting on base via hits and walks but they're converting with runners in scoring position. Batters in those spots against the Razorbacks went a combined 0-13 as the bottom half picked up the slack. Frey crossed the plate four times while working three walks and a hit against UCLA while Jake Brown came through with three hits and two RBI. Bullpen only allows two runs LSU's bullpen surrendered just two earned runs on Tuesday in relief of Eyanson, who could only pitch three innings due to the postponement. Evans has yet to allow a run in the College World Series after appearances against Arkansas and UCLA. Chase Shores continues peaking at the right time as well. He came in with the bases loaded in the eight inning and needed the inning on one pitch. He shut down the Bruins in the ninth and sealed the win.

The 2025 SEC baseball regular season concluded May 17. Ahead of the SEC Tournament in Hoover, Alabama, MLB released its list of the top 150 prospects for the 2025 MLB draft. Advertisement Among the prospects, Tennessee right-handed pitcher Nate Snead ranks No. 113 overall. He ranks No. 27 among right-handed pitchers on the prospect list. "Snead owns one of the hottest fastballs in college baseball, usually dealing at 95-97 mph with the capability of reaching 101," Snead's scouting profile says. "His heater is more powerful than lively, featuring more sink than carry, so it can get whacked when he doesn't locate it well." Snead began his collegiate career at Wichita State in 2023 before transferring to Tennessee. He was a component in the Vols' bullpen during their 2024 national championship run in the College World Series. Snead pitched 75.1 innings in 29 games. He recorded 61 strikeouts, while allowing 71 hits, 28 runs and 26 walks. Snead has pitched 45.1 innings in 20 games, recording 36 strikeouts and allowing 50 hits, 30 runs and 15 walks in 2025.
