More than 200 of Diana's items to go up for auction
More than 200 of Diana, Princess of Wales's items will go up for auction, offering 'a window into a moment in history'.
The collection is part of Julien's Auctions event titled Princess Diana's Style & A Royal Collection, which is due to take place on Thursday June 26.
Bidding will begin on May 20 and will include a range of Diana's garments with the aim of celebrating her style and preserve her legacy.
Martin Nolan, co-founder and executive director of Julien's Auctions, said: 'Princess Diana holds a special place in the heart of Julien's Auctions, and we are honoured to continue to preserve her legacy telling her story through the pieces that defined her elegance, grace, glamour and spirit.
'This collection is the most significant offering of her wardrobe ever presented at auction, each item a window into a moment in history and a tribute to a woman whose humility and style and personal warmth continues to inspire the world.'
Also on auction will be a collection of garments and artefacts from British royal history including items once worn by the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen Mother and other members of the royal family dating as far back as the 19th century.
Julien's Auctions previously sold one of Diana's gowns for 1.14 million US dollars (£889,000) and in 2024 a pair of her shoes achieved 390,000 US dollars (£304,000) at auction.
Prior to the sale, the Museum of Pop Culture (Mopop) will host an exhibition to offer members of the public the chance to view the items before it goes under the hammer in a new collaboration with Julien's Auctions.
Michele Y Smith, chief executive of Mopop said: 'This collection celebrates Princess Diana's enduring influence as a cultural and fashion icon.
'Her style, grace, and humanitarian spirit continue to resonate across generations.'
The collection will also be on exhibition at The Museum of Style Icons (Mosi) in Newbridge, Ireland from mid May until mid June 2025.
A portion of the sale of Diana items will benefit Muscular Dystrophy UK.
The auction is due to take place on Thursday June 26 at 10:00am Pacific Time at The Peninsula Beverly Hills.

Known amongst his TikTok followers as the Benidorm Fanatic, he recounts his visit to Uncle Ron's, a bar renowned for its affordably priced pints, where he found himself pleasantly surprised by just how much bang he got for his buck. In his popular video, he raves: "I tell you what, I believe it's actually a very, very nice pint as well, so it comes to the equivalent of about 84p in British money. Let's go and try it out, shall we? Let's give it a try." Upon reaching the bar, he continued: "So there you go, I'll give you a euro, a €1 pint, and I'll take that. Let's try this €1 pint. Look at that - a nice, clean, cold pint. It's got a nice, good head on it - let's try it." He enthusiastically shared his verdict, saying: "That is actually one of the best pints I've had in one of the popular bars. That is actually one of the best pints I've had in Benidorm to be honest with you. €1, I'll drink them all day." The video quickly gained traction, prompting viewers to share their impressions and even their own tales of Benidorm adventures. Among the comments, one user exclaimed: "Wow," while another who'd been there on holiday exclaimed: "I was there last week." Someone else who'd be there said: "Lovely pint. Had many." TripAdvisor reviews boast of the establishment's offerings from breakfast through to dinner, with an average rating of 3.8 out of 5 on the platform, suggesting it's a must-visit for those seeking a decent meal and drinks while away. In the review section, one visitor commented: "Had a fantastic breakfast at Ron's today. Lovely English produce. Great service. Brilliant staff. "A massive group came in, but they were serviced promptly. Don't know how they manage with so few staff." Another shared their experience: "Last day we visited for some lunch before heading to airport. Left full, which is always a good thing. In all my times of going here, never left unhappy at the service nor the food - always really good." A third reviewer added: "We went many times during our two-week holiday. The staff are friendly and extremely hard working day and night. "Cheapest drinks you will find in town and food to suit everyone (daily deal only 6 euros). It's not a stylish 5* restaurant but then you wouldn't expect it. "For drinks just go to the bar like a normal bar. Always busy Sunday and Friday, so expect to book if you want a Sunday lunch. Freakier Friday trailer sees Lindsay Lohan and Jamie-Lee Curtis in four-way swap
The sequel to 2003 blockbuster Freaky Friday sees Jamie-Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan reunite for another body swap, alongside her teen daughter and stepdaughter, who are intent on wreaking havoc Lindsay Lohan and Jamie-Lee Curtis have baffled fans with a chaotic four-way body swap in the new Freakier Friday trailer. Dropped yesterday by Disney, the trailer shows fans what they can expect from the highly anticipated movie when it's released in August - and it's confusing to say the least. Following on from 2003 blockbuster Freaky Friday, which saw a teenage Lindsay Lohan's character Anna embroiled in a dramatic body swap with her mother Tess, played by Jamie-Lee Curtis. A freak accident and a fortune cookie spell saw the battling mother-daughter duo forced to live each others' lives as they get trapped in the others' body. And 22 years later, the plot is reimagined, but this time it involves two Gen Z teens, who are also at loggerheads. Lindsay's character Anna is about to get married to her partner Eric Davies, played by Manny Jacinto. But Anna's daughter Harper (Julia Butters) and Eric's teen Lily (Sophia Hammons) are throwing a spanner in the works, with their contempt for their new blended family situation. The new trailer sees chaos ensue, with Harper labelling her new British step-sister "a little demon thing with an obnoxious accent." We then see a glimpse of Anna's bachelorette party, in which she and her mum Tess Coleman have their fortune read by Vanessa Bayer's character. They are told they have another lesson to learn by "walking in each other's paths". The fortune teller says: "Change the hearts you know are wrong, to reach the place where you belong," before Anna and Tess are caught up in yet another body swap. But this time, it's with their warring stepdaughters, with Anna swapping with her own daughter Harper and Tess in Lily's body. In what appears to be a nod to Lindsay's 1998 first big film The Parent Trap, the teens then begin to formulate a plan to break their parents up for good. Chad Michael Murray reprises his role as Anna's first love Jake, who the teens decide she should reunite with to stop the wedding. To complicate things further, Lindsay's villainous co-star from The Parent Trap, Elaine Hendrix, who played her wicked stepmother Meredith Blake, will also make a cameo. In November 2024, Lindsay discussed her upcoming role reprisal with Jimmy Fallon. The Mean Girls star explained: "It's just been such a labour of love to make happen. Jamie [Lee Curtis] and I... even at the table read, we were just smiling so big that we couldn't... I don't think we were acting well because we were so happy. But the movie's funny - it's really funny." In September last year, Jamie-Lee Curtis spoke about her reunion with Lindsay after over two decades. She told Extra: "So fun. We just did it this summer… We came together for 42 days and just laughed a lot, cried a lot. "It's a four-way switch… so it was intense. We have these two young beautiful actors with us, so I think you guys are going to love it." She added: "It's joyful, you know, it's a movie that people love and people are going to love this." Freaky Friday was a remake of the 1976 Disney movie, which saw Oscar-winning actress Jodie Foster and Barbara Harris take part in the original body swap. Some diehard fans are asking for another cameo in the upcoming sequel, with one tweeting: "The ONLY cameo I want to see is Jodie OG Freaky Friday GOAT."

Edinburgh music legend honoured at Goodison Park
The stadium, packed with 38,000 fans, heard the familiar sound of the Z Cars theme as players from Everton and Southampton emerged onto the pitch. The tune, closely associated with Everton for decades, was arranged by Johnny Keating, a talented musician and composer born in Bakehouse Close, just off Edinburgh's Royal Mile. Keating, who passed away ten years ago this month, brought the theme to life and took it to number five in the UK music charts. Johnny Keating's musical achievements went far beyond football. He taught himself piano, trombone, arranging and composing as a teenager. In the 1960s, he helped shape the career of British pop star Eden Kane, co-writing and producing a string of hits. He also worked with artists such as Adam Faith, Petula Clark, Anthony Newley, and Sammy Davis Jr. Tony Bennett once said Keating's arrangement of The Very Thought of You was the best he had ever sung. Figures like Burt Bacharach and Beatles producer George Martin praised Keating for his talent and called him one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century. His classical compositions, including Overture 100 Pipers and Hebridean Impressions, were performed at the Royal Albert Hall. In 1972, his album Space Experience introduced innovative sound effects that were so unique, the musicians involved were sworn to secrecy. Back in Scotland, Keating was a devoted Hibernian fan. According to his family, he asked to be cremated wearing his Hibs tie. In 1973, he produced two songs for the club, Give Us a Goal, Glory to the Hibees and Turnbull's Tornadoes, which were recorded by the team at the time. I remember attending a small commemoration for Keating at the Stella Maris Club in Leith after his ashes were placed beside his parents' at Mount Vernon. The event was organised by Willie McEwan, now a Midlothian Labour councillor, and John Gibson, late of The Edinburgh Evening News. Gibson shared fond stories about Keating and the Hibs while enjoying the buffet. The room featured simple but meaningful decor, including a soft-glowing LED Crazy Neon sign that added a warm, modern touch to the gathering. Johnny Keating earned international respect and left a legacy that still resonates today. Hearing the Z Cars theme during Everton's final match at Goodison reminded many of his talent and influence. As the club prepares to move into a new stadium next season, Keating's music will likely continue to inspire fans and players alike.
