5 students of Aakash Educational Services Limited from Hyderabad Become Top Scorers in JEE Advanced 2025
Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL), a national leader in test preparatory services, proudly announces that 5 of its students from Hyderabad have Become Top Scorers in the prestigious JEE Advanced 2025, one of the toughest engineering entrance examinations. The results were announced by IIT Kanpur.
This outstanding performance highlights the dedication of the students, their relentless hard work, and the robust academic support provided by AESL's expert faculty and comprehensive curriculum.
Notable students are Kotha Dhanush Reddy who secured AIR 74, Samhitha Poladi secured AIR 130, Harssh A Gupta secured AIR 210, Raghavan Epuri secured AIR 770 and Viswa Navadeep Gunje secured AIR 877 amongst others.
The students were a part of AESL's classroom program designed specifically to crack the JEE Advanced. Widely considered one of the most rigorous entrance tests globally, JEE Advanced demands a deep conceptual understanding and strong problem-solving abilities.

JEE Advanced is conducted annually for students who have qualified JEE Mains organized by one of the IITs yearly. While JEE Main is for admission to several National Institute of Technologies (NITs) and other center-aided engineering colleges in India, JEE Advanced is considered as the sole prerequisite for admission to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). However, Students must appear for JEE Main to sit for JEE Advanced.

Girl from tribal community in Kalvarayan Hills earns her seat in IIT
In a remote village tucked away in the Kalvarayan Hills, where dreams often struggle to take flight, 17-year-old A. Rajeshwari has carved out an extraordinary path. A student of the Government Tribal Residential Higher Secondary School in Karumandurai in Salem district, she has cleared the JEE (Advanced) 2025, an achievement that would earn her a seat in one of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). She is the first student from a government tribal residential school under the administration of the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department to secure admission to an IIT. Hailing from the Malayali tribal community, Ms Rajeshwari lost her father, Aundi, a tailor, to cancer a year-and-a-half ago. Since then, her mother, Kavitha, has been supporting their family of five by working as a daily-wage agricultural labourer. Despite the odds, Ms. Rajeshwari scored an impressive 521 out of 600 in her Class XII exam and went on to secure an All India Rank of 417 in the Scheduled Tribe category in the competitive exam. According to her, this feat was made possible because of her teachers and the focused coaching programme launched by the department. The initiative, which began for selected students at the end of Class XI, brought in expert teachers and subject specialists from Chennai to conduct daily online coaching sessions. 'They took classes in the mornings and evenings, and were always available to clarify students' question,' said D. Vijayan, the headmaster of Ms. Rajeshwari's school. Speaking to The Hindu over phone from the Government Tribal Residential School in Kumizhi, near Chengalpattu, where she is undergoing a training programme on soft skills, Ms. Rajeshwari, who studied in Tamil medium up to Class XII, expressed happiness over her achievement. 'JEE Mains was in Tamil, so I found it easier. But JEE Advanced was in English, and that made it more difficult,' she said. After her Class XII Board Exam, Ms. Rajeshwari was sent to a special training programme in Perundurai in Erode district to intensify her preparation for JEE Advanced. 'With the guidance of teachers and motivation from fellow students, I cleared the exam. Hopefully, I will get into IIT Madras or IIT Bombay. I want to pursue Aerospace Engineering,' she said, adding: 'Students from Tamil medium can overcome challenges and crack exams such as JEE with proper guidance and support from teachers.' 'I am very happy and proud. Her achievement is a beacon of hope for many more students from remote areas, who now believe that they too can reach the prestigious higher educational institutions,' Mr. Vijayan added.

From Kashmir to IITs: Meet the girls who cracked JEE Advanced 2025
'In my ten years of being a part of RISE, I don't know a single girl from Kashmir who cracked the JEE Advanced exam and went to an IIT,' says Salman Shahid, co-founder of RISE, an engineering coaching institute in Srinagar. Three Kashmiri girls, Maleeha, Sadaf, and Janees, have cleared the highly competitive JEE (Advanced) and secured admission to the IITs, breaking a gender barrier. In so doing, they extended the all-India trend of more girl students cracking JEE Advanced to their state of Kashmir. The JEE Advanced 2025 had 9,404 female candidates qualifying, the highest since 2017. The growth from 7,137 female qualifiers in 2017 (~14.1%) to 9,404 female qualifiers in 2025 (~17.3%) comes on the back of a concerted effort such as the introduction of a 20% female supernumerary quota at all the 23 IITs. Over the past decade, the number of students from Jammu and Kashmir gaining admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) has steadily increased, reflecting the growing impact of educational initiatives in the region. While exact year-wise statistics are limited, data from coaching programs such as the Indian Army's Kashmir Super 30 and private institutes like RISE provide a glimpse into this upward trend. In 2017, reportedly nine students from Kashmir cracked the IIT entrance exam through the Super 30 programme. This marked an important early milestone in improving access to top-tier technical education for students in the Valley. Between 2018 and 2020, RISE coaching institute played a role in taking the momentum forward, helping some 5-10 students each year secure seats in IITs. This pattern continued into the 2021-2025 period, with around 10 Kashmiri students annually gaining admission to premier engineering institutes. A particularly noteworthy development occurred in 2025, when two Kashmiri girls scored above 99 percentile in JEE Main. While the achievement is historic this year, the stories behind it are deeply personal for Janees and Sadaf. For Janees, the journey to IIT was shaped by both quiet defiance and unwavering self-belief. She has her sights set on IIT Kharagpur, though she says she's still exploring which stream she would like to pursue. 'I'm open to all subjects and ready to explore.' Sadaf, among the trio, describes the moment she saw her JEE Advanced result as 'deeply emotional.' She said: 'All the months of hard work, sacrifice, and long study hours had finally paid off.' She hopes to pursue her studies at IIT Delhi, with the long-term goal of giving back to society and inspiring other girls from Kashmir to dream bigger. The medical stereotype Like many girls in the Valley, Janees's parents were expecting her to follow the well-trodden path toward medicine. 'When I was in Class 10, my parents hoped I'd become a doctor. But once they saw how much I enjoyed Math and non-medical subjects, they didn't pressurise me,' she said. 'There was some hesitation because of the stereotype that engineering is for boys but they let me follow my passion. I wanted to become an engineer, and they supported me. Today, they are really happy.' Reflecting on her challenges, Sadaf points out the twin barriers of stereotype and limited exposure. 'One of the biggest challenges was fighting the idea that IIT is too ambitious or too tough for girls…there's also a lack of resources compared to metro cities.' To others walking the same path, Sadaf believes, 'don't let fear or stereotypes hold you back….intelligence and ambition have no gender…..surround yourself with people who uplift you, work consistently, and never underestimate your strength.' While Janees advised, 'confidence, hard work, and consistency is really important to be in the field and to adhere for what you want to do.' Beyond studies Outside the world of competitive exams and rigorous study schedules, Sadaf enjoys watching true crime documentaries and the occasional horror film. 'Sometimes I watch cricket with my brothers, but they're the real fans.' Though studies have consumed most of her recent months, she said that 'the environment at home is supportive and relaxed. It's the best place to recharge.' Beyond academics, Janees describes her home life as calming and comforting. 'Apart from studies, the environment at home is quite simple and cozy. I enjoy spending time with my family, and talking to them brings me a sense of peace…meeting my extended family during Eid is something I cherish. It's full of warmth and connection.' While JEE preparation didn't leave much room for extracurriculars recently, Janees carries fond memories from her school days when she trained in judo and even represented her State at the Khelo India Sub Junior Nationals. She calls it a memorable experience.

Tribal girl from TN's Kalvarayan Hills makes it to IIT, realises late father's dream
CHENNAI: When A Rajeshwari, a tribal girl, walks on the hallowed corridors of an Indian Institute of Technology soon, she will be living her own dream, and one her father held close to his heart till he succumbed to cancer a year ago. A Aundi, her dad who belonged to the Malayali (Scheduled Tribe) community of Karumandurai, a village located 65km from Salem in the Kalvarayan Hills with a 90% tribal population, could study only up to Class 8 due to poverty and seasonal migration. Determined that his four children should have a different future, Aundi took up tailoring and toiled hard to provide them with a stable education, ably supported by his wife Kavitha. He succeeded in making his first two children undergraduates, which in itself is no mean feat. If he had not died in 2024, Aundi would have not only witnessed the proudest moment of his life but also the beginning of a transformation in the lives of his family as his third child Rajeshwari will make history by becoming the first tribal student from a Government Tribal Residential School run by the state government to enter into an IIT, most likely IIT-Madras. The girl from Government Tribal Residential Higher Secondary School in Karumandurai, has secured an all-India rank of 417 under the Scheduled Tribes category in the JEE Advanced results published on Monday.
