Lions rookie Isaac TeSlaa proves he's 'one of us' with his comments about the Packers
Isaac TeSlaa was already an easy player for Lions fans to embrace. After what he said on the latest episode of the "St. Brown Brothers" podcast, even the skeptics are going to smile about the shaggy-haired third-round wideout.
Sitting with new Lions teammate Amon-Ra St. Brown and the All-Pro's brother, Equanimeous, in Los Angeles, TeSlaa is clearly comfortable in his own skin. TeSlaa and the brothers kick off the interview by quickly going over the NFC North division.
"Packers Week 1," TeSlaa says, to which Equanimeous responds, "you probably hate the Packers?"
TeSlaa doesn't sugarcoat it. He leans into the hate he fostered growing up as a Lions fan in the Grand Rapids area.
"I hate the Packers with a burning passion," TeSlaa says matter-of-factly. When Equanimeous says, "you know I'm a Packers guy?", TeSlaa responds with an "I know."
A very amused Amon-Ra laughs at his older brother calling himself a Packers guy, since Equanimeous hasn't played for the Packers since the 2021 season. He was a sixth-round pick by the Packers back in 2018.
The entire interview is worth watching for any Lions fan. It's easy to see the natural chemistry and mutual admiration between the Lions star wideout and his new rookie running mate.

The Minnesota Timberwolves will do their best to return all of Julius Randle, Naz Reid, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker this offseason, but one or more of those potential free agents seem likely to walk in free agency. Alexander-Walker is an unrestricted free agent, whereas Randle and Reid have player options on their contracts. Advertisement Reid will likely decline his option and pursue a big deal, but there is a good chance that Randle will accept his option and return to Minnesota because he is slated to make over $30 million next season. That makes him the most likely to return to the Timberwolves next season of those potential free agents. Even so, it is far from a guarantee that Randle will be suiting up for the Timberwolves again. The power forward thrived in the postseason and helped get Minnesota into the Western Conference Finals for the second straight season. The bruising big man is a polarizing player due to his questionable shot selection and streaky efficiency, but he is clearly an asset. It is possible that he'd find a big payday on the open market. So if Randle were to leave the Timberwolves, what are his best free-agent fits? 1. Julius Randle to the Nets The Brooklyn Nets want to go star hunting this offseason, and they've been linked to Giannis Antetokounmpo. A trade for the two-time MVP will be easier said than done, especially because Brooklyn would have to fork over a lot of talent in a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks. Advertisement Instead, the Nets could find their star in free agency in the form of Randle. While the power forward from Kentucky isn't an All-NBA caliber player, he has actually made three All-Star Games. Randle has averaged as much as 25.1 points per game in a season, and he would be free to get up plenty of shots in Brooklyn. Randle can hit jump shots, get buckets inside off of post-ups, and score off the bounce. He alone might not be enough to turn the Nets into a playoff team, but Brooklyn has more projected cap space than any other team. The Nets could outbid everybody for Randle's services and still have enough room to make another big deal. 2. Julius Randle to the Hornets The Charlotte Hornets have talent on their roster. LaMelo Ball is elite when he is healthy. Miles Bridges is one of the best dunkers in the NBA, and Brandon Miller and Tidjane Salaun are recent high draft picks with tons of potential. Even Mark Williams impressed after returning to the Hornets because of a failed physical after the team tried to trade him to the Lakers. Advertisement That hasn't translated into wins, though. Randle is a gritty player and veteran leader who could push the Hornets in the right direction. Randle has experience turning bad teams into good ones. The Lakers were horrible when they drafted him, but they got better and better while he was with the team. The same can be said about his time with the New York Knicks. Randle even got the Timberwolves into the Western Conference Finals after many criticized the team for trading Karl-Anthony Towns for him. Randle will be 31 years old next season, so he doesn't fit the Hornets' timeline perfectly. The team needs a boost to get to the next level, though. Randle always plays hard, and his attitude could rub off on a team that has struggled with culture in recent years. 3. Julius Randle to the Spurs Alonzo Adams-USA TODAY Sports Victor Wembanyama is a unicorn. The former first overall pick stands 7-feet-4-inches tall, but he is also incredibly skinny. That hasn't negatively affected the San Antonio Spurs star so far in his young career. Advertisement Wembanyama would have won the Defensive Player of the Year award had his season not ended early due to blood clotting, and he still managed to lead the league in blocks despite not playing after the All-Star Weekend. Even so, pairing Wembanyama with a meaty and strong player like Randle makes sense. Randle uses a bully ball style of play that would perfectly complement Wembanyama's finesse game. Opponents that go at Randle are met by a brick wall, but Wembanyama is too lanky to be scored on very often. Opposing teams wouldn't have a lot of options when facing the Spurs if they signed Randle. The Spurs are well on their way to contending for a title. Fans haven't seen much of Wembanyama with his new point guard yet. The team traded for De'Aaron Fox last year, and his speed and clutch ability give the team a great star duo. Stephon Castle is also coming off a Rookie of the Year campaign, and the team even holds two lottery picks in the 2025 NBA Draft, including the second overall pick. The team is on the right trajectory, but the addition of Randle would catapult them into contention.

6 Broncos greats who should go into the Ring of Fame next With the Denver Broncos' recent announcement of Demaryius Thomas going into the team's Ring of Fame, there should be some discussion of who should go into the Broncos Ring of Fame next. We take a look at the next five worthy candidates. Note that players must wait at least five years after retirement and have played for the Broncos for at least four seasons to be eligible. 1. Ed McCaffrey The former Broncos receiver was one of the toughest players in franchise history. One of the biggest surprises is that McCaffrey isn't in the Ring of Fame yet. As one of the primary pass-catchers for Denver during the Super Bowl-winning years in 1997 and 1998, McCaffrey played in Denver for nine years (1995-2003), recording 462 receptions for 6,200 yards and 46 touchdowns. The fact that he's produced an All-Pro running back as a son in Christian McCaffrey and is a Colorado lifer should say something as well. McCaffrey was inducted into the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame in 2022; the next logical space for McCaffrey should be on the Level 5 facade of Empower Field at Mile High. 2. Al Wilson Wilson played for the Broncos from 1999-2006, earning five Pro Bowl selections as well as first- (2005) and second-team (2006) All-Pro nods. His 723 tackles rank eighth on the team's all-time list. Wilson had a falling out with the team over the handling of a neck injury near the end of his career, but the two sides have since mended their relationship. He should now go into the club's Ring of Fame. 3. Von Miller While Miller is still an active player, there is no doubt that Miller will one day be a Ring of Famer, and very likely, a Pro Football Hall of Famer. Miller is the Broncos' all-time leader in sacks (110.5) and was the MVP of Super Bowl 50, and he's a two-time Super Bowl champion. Miller was a Bronco for 10 seasons, and he will always be beloved in Denver. 4. Chris Harris Harris is a Broncos success story as an undrafted free agent. Harris defined the slot corner position for many years, and was one of the original anchors of the "No-Fly Zone" defense that helped Denver to a victory in Super Bowl 50. In nine seasons with the Broncos, Harris started 121 games, totaling 518 tackles (443 solo, 75 assisted), recovering four fumbles, forcing six fumbles, 86 pass deflections and intercepting 20 passes (including four returned for touchdowns). Harris was a Pat Bowlen player, one of the highest compliments one could receive. 5. Ryan Clady Clady was one of the offensive lineman mainstays for the Broncos from the time he was drafted out of Boise State (12th overall) in 2008 until 2014. Clady was the blindside protector for several Broncos quarterbacks (Kyle Orton, Tim Tebow and Peyton Manning), starting 106 games for Denver. A four-time Pro Bowler and two-time first-team All-Pro, Clady was named second runner-up for the 2008 AP Offensive Player of the Year, an award most linemen could never even dream about touching. Clady has been eligible for Ring of Fame status since 2021. 6. Matt Prater This one could be considered controversial. Prater is still an active kicker, and is an unrestricted free agent in 2025. Prater first came to the Broncos in 2007, playing for Denver from 2007-2014. Prater was an extremely reliable kicker during his time in Mile High, benefiting from the thin Colorado air. A two-time Pro Bowler, Prater is the current NFL leader in kicks attempted (487), extra points attempted (603) and extra points made (587). During the Broncos' historic offensive season in 2013, Prater set a then-NFL record with a 64-yard field goal. Prater's time in Denver came to an ignominious ending in 2014 when he was cut for a suspension from the NFL for abusing the league's substance abuse policy, but his time with the club was historic. He holds the NFL record for field goals made over 50 yards (81) and is fourth on the Broncos' all-time scoring list. Who else should be on this list, modern or classic? Is ESPN's hypothetical Trey Hendrickson trade feasible for the Lions? Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson continues to be in a contract dispute with the team. Until the issue is resolved, Hendrickson will continue to be the subject of trade speculation. With that speculation, and with the need for extra help on the edge, the Detroit Lions will be linked to any potential trade discussion for Hendrickson. But is a trade actually feasible for the team? Before getting into that, let's discuss the hypothetical trade idea for Hendrickson to the Lions that was proposed by ESPN's Ben Solak this week. Solak proposed Hendrickson and a 2026 fifth-round pick to the Lions for a 2026 second-round pick and a conditional 2027 fourth-round pick that can become a third. Solak wrote: "Lions general manager Brad Holmes has acknowledged the fan base wants a secondary edge rusher far more than he does, but I imagine a player of Hendrickson's caliber would change Holmes' calculus slightly. Hendrickson isn't the sort of run defender the Lions might prioritize, yet a pass-rush duo of Aidan Hutchinson and Hendrickson might be the scariest in the NFL. "The Lions are still legitimate Super Bowl contenders and should behave as such with aggressive veteran trades. They have plenty of cap space to extend Hendrickson, which he would demand of an acquiring team." The Lions currently have $40 million in salary cap space for 2025, but are currently projected to be about $14 million over the cap for 2026, according to Spotrac. That can easily be addressed by restructuring contracts, including that of quarterback Jared Goff, for example. Goff is currently scheduled to make $55 million in base salary. The Lions do have other players set for new contracts coming up and the money will start getting pretty high. Not the least of which is Detroit's leading edge-rusher Aidan Hutchinson. In addition, safety Brian Branch is also due for an extension after this season. Tight end Sam LaPorta will also be coming up. All three have two years left on their rookie contracts -- Hutchinson had his fifth-year option picked up, Branch and LaPorta were not eligible for fifth-year options.
