Kajol doesn't want a sequel to DDLJ: ‘Do you really want to know whether they fought over diapers'

Actor Kajol isn't on board with the idea of a sequel to her iconic film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, joking that no one would be interested in seeing Raj and Simran's story continue, and watch them fight over diapers. During an interview with Pinkvilla, Kajol spoke about the sequel to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, the 1995 film, which also starred Shah Rukh Khan.
Kajol said, 'Each film has a certain amount of magic that it produces. I can't imagine DDLJ 2. Like train ke baad kya hua? Kisi ko pata bhi nahin karna hai. (No one wants to know what happens after the train leaves the station). Do you really want to know whether they fought over diapers or not? You don't want to know".
She added, 'It's wonderful that it's left at the end. Train chali gayi (train left) THE END, brilliant. Now you can just leave it to imagination. They lived happily ever after".
Kajol was also asked about the sequel to her hit film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai which also co-starred Shah Rukh Khan. She said it was a different era where people believed in eternal love, adding that recreating it would be difficult in today's times.
DDLJ follows two non-resident Indians, Raj and Simran, and their star-crossed love story across Europe and India, beginning on a train from King's Cross Station. The location couldn't be more fitting, with Leicester Square featuring in DDLJ in a scene when Raj and Simran first cross paths, unknown to one another, before setting off on their memorable European adventure. Directed by Aditya Chopra, the film featured Amrish Puri, Anupam Kher, Farida Jalal and Mandira Bedi in important roles. The film was a huge success at the box office.
Kajol will next be seen in the movie Maa. Helmed by Vishal Furia, the horror film is produced under the banner of Devgn Films. Starring Kajol in the lead role, the film also features Ronit Roy, Indranil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma in key roles. The film follows the story of a mother's determination to protect her daughter from the demonic curses of a haunted village. It is scheduled to release in theatres on June 27.

EXCLUSIVE: Allu Arjun and Basil Joseph are indeed in talks for a film and it's NOT Shaktimaan

Allu Arjun is currently involved in the making of his magnum opus film, tentatively titled AA22xA6. However, the Pushpa actor is making headlines for his possible collaboration with Minnal Murali's Basil Joseph. In an exclusive report, we at Pinkvilla have learned that Pushpa actor is in talks with director-actor Basil Joseph for a movie. While discussions are going on, there's no official signing yet. Allu Arjun and Basil Joseph in talks, but not for Shaktimaan Interestingly, there are reports that state it would likely be a Shaktimaan movie. However, we have also learned that it will not be the superhero venture but another story. If Allu is indeed joining hands with a modern filmmaker like Basil, it would be interesting to see how he embeds himself into the narrative created by the latter. With more details about the team-up still coming in, the Arya actor will next be appearing under Atlee's direction. The much-anticipated movie is said to be set in a 'parallel universe,' with the actor reportedly playing multiple roles, including an animated one. As Deepika Padukone joins the cast, playing one of the main female leads, actresses like Janhvi Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur are also speculated to join. The film, being made on a massive scale, is bankrolled by Sun Pictures with young musical sensation Sai Abhyankkar crafting the musical tracks and scores. Allu Arjun x Trivikram dropped? On a side note, Allu Arjun had recently made the headlines after reports of him opting out of the Trivikram Srinivas directorial project. The cinematic venture was touted as a mythological venture based on Lord Kartikeya Swamy. However, owing to the busy schedule for AA22xA6, the stylish star is said to have opted out, with Jr NTR replacing him as the lead. Moreover, recent reports also speculate that Allu and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's flick may also be shelved at the time. This is most likely due to the director's commitments with Prabhas' Spirit and subsequently Animal Park with Ranbir Kapoor. On the other hand, Basil Joseph was last seen helming a project for Minnal Murali, starring Tovino Thomas. The Malayalam-language superhero movie tells the tale of Jaison Varghese, also known as Minnal Murali, a tailor from the village of Kurukkanmoola. Owing to a night's lightning strike, he is bestowed with supernatural powers, which he uses for the safety and betterment of his villagers. While there were initial talks of Basil's next directorial being his foray into Bollywood with a modern adaptation of Shaktimaan, the project has been in limbo for a long time.

Jackson Wang shared more on how he and Diljit Dosanjh came to know of one another. The two had first met back in 2023 when they performed at the Coachella festival that year. The two had bumped into each other backstage and had hung out together. Box Office: How To Train Your Dragon's live-action movie takes a FANTASTIC Rs 90 crore start from Thursday previews in the domestic market

How To Train Your Dragon, directed by Dean DeBlois and starring Mason Thames in the lead, is a live-action adaptation of the animated movie How To Train Your Dragon (2010), which emerged a runaway hit at the time of its release. It was followed up by very well performing sequels and now it is the turn of the live-action version to blow all lids off. How To Train Your Dragon has hit the theatres now, across the world. The Thursday night premieres in the domestic market are terrific with early estimates of USD 10-10.50 million (Rs 86-91cr). The movie is well poised for a phenomenal Father's Day weekend in the vicinity of USD 90 million (Rs 774 crore), domestically. The movie's advance bookings in other traditional international markets are excellent too. If the momentum continues, a USD 200 million (Rs 1720 crore) global weekend will very easily happen. Going purely on the basis that the movie has cost USD 150 million to make and USD 75 million to market, it needs to gross around USD 375-400 million to breakeven theatrically. Reaching this number, at the moment, looks like a foregone conclusion. There will be absolutely no surprise if the movie reaches very close to this number in its home market itself. There was a slight worry that the live-action adaptation would not bode well with the fans of the franchise; but that has not happened. The fans are loving it and it is very likely that the movie will get an A or A+ Cinemascore, indicating universal acclaim. A bunch of social handles, and also critics, have been very vocal about not wanting live-action adaptations. But the theatre going audiences are enjoying them, every bit. Just a month back, Lilo And Stitch took the box office to cleaners and is gearing up to hit USD 1 billion in the next couple of weeks or so. The audience verdict is clear and it is that they wouldn't mind live-action flicks of relatively newer made IPs. It might be difficult for a Snow White to get the audiences. But a Brave or a Shrek? Not so much. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates on the box office collections of How To Train Your Dragon.
