ETBU Tigers earn spot in NCAA Division III softball tournament

MARSHALL, Texas (KTAL/KMSS) — The East Texas Baptist University (ETBU) Tigers are guaranteed to play in the NCAA Division III Softball Championship Tournament.
The Tigers won the 2025 American Southwest Conference (ASC) Conference Championship with a 2-0 home win over LeTourneau.
ETBU players take home ASC weekly awards
The win gives the Tigers 13 conference championship wins and their third consecutive title.
Hannah Benavides was named ASC Tournament MVP, and the Tigers accounted for five of the 15 players named to the All-Tournament Team. Mallory Pyle, Mary Frances Ellis, Izabella Morales, and Katelynn Jones received the honor alongside Benevides.
North DeSoto baseball heading to state championship
A selection show on May 12 will reveal the entire 64-team field and the regional sites. Tournament play begins Thursday, May 15, and ends Wednesday, June 4, at Inspiration Field in Bloomington, IL.
