has officially filed his nomination for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. As part of the process, he submitted a detailed affidavit disclosing his assets and liabilities.
As per Filmi Beat, the declaration revealed that the actor-turned-politician currently has liabilities amounting to ₹49 crore, drawing public attention.
Kamal also mentioned that he holds four commercial buildings in Chennai, including two in Alwarpet and one each in Uthandi and Sholinganallur. He owns agricultural land in Vilpatti, Dindigul valued at ₹22.24 crore and has ₹2.6 lakh in cash.
From child prodigy to cinema icon
Known for his extraordinary contributions to Indian cinema over the last six decades, Kamal Haasan began his career as a child actor in 'Kalathur Kannamma' and has since starred in iconic films across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi.
Regarded as one of Indian cinema's most versatile performers, he has received numerous accolades and remains a towering figure in the industry. While acting was his sole focus for years, Kamal stepped into politics in 2018 with the formation of MNM, contesting the 2019 general and 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

Masula beach festival concludes on grand note in Andhra Pradesh
Vijayawada: A sea of people gathered at Manginapudi beach to spend some time there and experience various adventure water sports, on the last day of the four-day Masula beach festival. It was organised by the tourism and sports authority of AP, along with Krishna district administration. All-party Parliamentary delegation led by Shashi Tharoor wraps up US visit
The all-party Parliamentary delegation wrapped up its visit to the US after meeting with US Vice President J D Vance and Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau among political and diplomatic leadership to drive home India's strong resolve to combat terrorism emanating from Pakistan. The delegation, led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor , was on the last leg of a multi-nation tour to brief key interlocutors about Operation Sindoor that India launched in retaliation of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. The delegation was one of the seven multi-party delegations India had tasked to visit 33 global capitals to reach out to the international community to emphasise Pakistan's links to terrorism.
