The three-time Premier League champion is no stranger to Beligan football, having made 70 top flight appearances in Belgium for KSK Beveren in the early days of his career.
According to Sacha Tavolieri, via Sport, Daring Brussels want to bring the former midfielder back to Belgium as they look to return to the top flight having lost their promotion play-off this season after a third place finish.
Daring Brussels are owned by John Textor, the billionaire American who also holds shares in Botafogo and Lyon, and recently agreed to sell his stake in Crystal Palace.
Toure had been offered a role in English management back in 2022, snubbing the change to take over as Wigan Athletic boss at the time.
Since retiring Toure has coached across Europe, working as an assistant at Olimpik Donetsk in Ukraine and Akhmat Grozny in Russia, as well as taking charge of Tottenham's youth team.
He also spent nine months as assistant boss with Standard Liege, strengthening his knowledge of Belgian football.
Most recently Toure has been working as the assistant manager to Roberto Mancini for the Saudi Arabian national team.
Speaking recently to Rio Ferdinand about his desire to become a coach, Toure said: 'Football gave me everything during my life and when you hang up your boots sometimes it's difficult to find yourself.

'You start thinking four or five years before you stop the football [about what to do next].
'I think, going into that, It was good because I got the experience of working with people that make me change my mind in terms of doing something and loving something.
'Playing was one thing, now managing a team and a group of people is completely different.'
As a player Toure played for the likes of Man City, Barcelona, Monaco and Olympiacos.
He ended his career with three Premier League titles, one Champions League, two La Liga title, one FA Cup and three League Cups.
Toure also represented his nation of the Ivory Coast 97 times, winning the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015 as captain of the side.

NHL opens host city selection process for 2028 World Cup of Hockey

June 26 (Reuters) - The National Hockey League on Thursday invited cities across North America, Europe and other international markets to submit expressions of interest to host games for the 2028 World Cup of Hockey. Set for February 2028, the eight-nation World Cup of Hockey is scheduled to feature round robin and quarter-final games in two host cities, with the semi-finals and championship game to take place in one of those cities. "The World Cup of Hockey is a showcase of international hockey at the highest level, and we are thrilled to begin the host city selection process for 2028," NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said in a press release. "This tournament offers cities a chance to be part of something truly global, while delivering meaningful economic and cultural benefits in return." The deadline for submissions is July 18 for North American cities and July 30 for international cities. The host cities will be chosen during the first quarter of 2026. The NHL, which is sending its players back to the Olympics next year for the first time since 2014, said the fourth edition of the World Cup of Hockey and first since 2016 is expected to last 12 days and include 17 games. The league also said the return of the World Cup of Hockey is building on the momentum of the 4 Nations Face-Off held in February 2025 in Montreal and Boston and featured NHL players from Canada, Finland, Sweden and the United States. Whether players from Russia will participate in the World Cup of Hockey, which is run separately from the International Ice Hockey Federation, is to be determined. The IIHF suspended Russia from international competition through at least the end of the 2025-26 season because of the country's 2022 invasion of Ukraine.

Borussia Dortmund exploring deal for Chelsea starlet Josh Acheampong

Borussia Dortmund are exploring a deal for Chelsea's Joshua Acheampong, among a number of clubs monitoring his situation. The 19-year-old has been seen by the Stamford Bridge hierarchy as a prospect for the future, but the defender is known to want more first-team opportunities in order to progress. There is now a belief among suitor clubs that Chelsea may be willing to do business for £35m, having previously rejected approaches - including loans. Borussia Dortmund have escalated their own interest, and are willing to act this summer. If they do, there is an expectation that Internazionale could come in amid a club refresh. Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are also among those interested from the Premier League, having watched Acheampong for some time. While it has been thought a loan could best suit all parties, Chelsea have rejected some such offers. Amid another summer of PSR churn, though, there is now a feeling that Chelsea could particularly be open to a deal if it involves a club who have a player they want. That could open the way for Dortmund, given Chelsea's long-standing interest in English winger Jamie Gittens. Acheampong played the full 90 minutes in the club's final group game at the Club World Cup, a 3-0 win over ES Tunis.

Eni Aluko returns to ITV for women's Euros but no Ian Wright

Eni Aluko has been named as an ITV pundit at the Women's European Championship but Ian Wright has not. Aluko will be part of the broadcaster's team for the tournament, which starts next week, just over two months since she said Wright 'should be aware of how much he's doing in the women's game'. She later publicly apologised but Wright refused to accept it and the pair have not worked together since, with both missing England's recent Nations League games against Portugal and Spain. Wright was also not part of ITV's original punditry team for the 2023 Women's World Cup, which he attended as a fan and worked for the broadcaster – alongside Aluko – in only two live matches. It therefore remains to be seen whether he similarly attends Euro 2025 – which is being held in Switzerland – and carries out any TV work while there. He was part of the BBC's punditry team for the previous Euros three years ago. Aluko was named by ITV as part of an all-female presenting and punditry line-up for this summer's tournament that also includes Laura Woods, Emma Hayes and Karen Carney. The only men announced on its 19-strong team were commentators Sam Matterface and Seb Hutchinson. A row broke out in April over comments Aluko made during an interview on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour in which she also said: 'We need to make sure that women are not being blocked from having a pathway into broadcasting in the women's game.' Afterwards, Aluko denied having 'attacked' Wright but later issued an apology on Instagram that read: 'In my interview with Woman's Hour this week, I was trying to make a broader point about the limited opportunities for women in football – whether that's in coaching, broadcasting or commercial spaces – and the importance of creating more space for women to thrive on and off the pitch. 'But it was wrong for Ian's name to be raised in that conversation, and for that I sincerely apologise. I've known and worked with Ian for many years and have nothing but love and respect for him.' Wright responded in a video post on the social media site, saying: 'I've got to say, I'm very disappointed about what Eni has said, she knows how I've helped her, supported her publicly, and I know the previous conversations she's had with me and my management. 'I've seen the apology on social media, but I can't accept it. But I also want to move on. For anyone watching this, I really don't need any further social commentary directed on any of this. The thing about where the women's game is, it isn't about me – it has to be about the collective. 'Because of the past, we know the men blocked the women's game for 50 years, because of the past we know the game has serious systemic challenges, and it's going to take everyone to help fix it. So, for me, I always give back to the game, it's given me so much.' Wright then added a 'thank you' to Kayleigh McDonald, the former Stoke City player who told Telegraph Sport how he had been paying for her rehab, which costs £1,700 per month, for an anterior cruciate ligament injury since the start of the year. 'I wouldn't be in a great place mentally if it wasn't for Ian Wright,' McDonald told Telegraph Sport. 'I would probably still be waiting for my surgery if it wasn't for him. For him to do this for me, someone he didn't know, I think there should be more of a spotlight shone on him.' Wright has only been a pundit for one Women's Super League match in the history of the competition – this season's game between Arsenal and Liverpool in March. He has been a vocal advocate for the women's game and helped create the Ian Wright Coaching Fund with Barclays in 2023. The initiative was created to increase the number of female coaches at grass-roots level, particularly in under-represented areas, for girls playing football. Wright made a £15,000 donation and as many as 664 female coaches were funded to attend their Level One training course. Wright has a podcast, Crossways, with former England captain Steph Houghton and on it the pair have raised a number of important issues in the women's game.
