Gabe Craig named first-team All American
WACO, Texas (FOX 44) — The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, or NCBWA, announced Baylor senior right-handed pitcher Gabe Craig as a First Team All-American on Wednesday, marking the first time a Baylor Bear received the recognition since Kyle Hill in 2019. Craig is the 11th different Bear in program history to earn first-team praise for a total of 28 times. Alongside Hill, Craig is now one of only two First Team All-America relief pitchers in program history. Additionally, Luke Boyd (2021), Zane Carlson (2000) and Troy Montemayor (2017) are the only other relievers to have earned All-America status, regardless of team distinction, in Baylor history. Statistically one of the most dominant relievers in the country, Craig finished the 2025 season with a 3-0 record and earned 10 saves in 32 innings of work. He struck out 51 batters and walked just three, holding opponents to a .124 batting average. He led the nation with a microscopic 0.56 ERA, a 0.50 WHIP and a 17:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Craig also ranked second nationally in H/9 (3.66), third in BB/9 (0.84) and owned the fifth-best K/9 (14.34) among Division I relievers. The NCBWA previously named Craig a finalist for the Stopper of the Year Award in addition to being named one of five finalists for the 2025 College Baseball Foundation National Pitcher of the Year Award. He also picked up All-Big 12 First Team accolades and ABCA/Rawlings All-Central Region Second Team praise earlier this summer. This is Craig's second All-America honor in as many days. Tyrese Haliburton teases dad for ‘out of pocket' fashion faux pas at NBA Finals
John Haliburton was 'out of pocket' on Wednesday, but it wasn't for an interaction with an opposing player. The father of Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton caught some flak from his son over his wardrobe choice for Game 3 of the NBA Finals, which culminated in a 116-107 win for Indiana over the Thunder. A clip circulated on social media of the younger Haliburton — who scored 22 points with 10 assists and nine rebounds — going up to his dad during pregame warmups and joking with him about the pants he had on. 'You're out of pocket for them jeans,' Tyrese said as he dapped up his dad. 'You out of pocket for them jeans.' 3 Tyrese Haliburton made fun of his dad before NBA Finals Game 3 on June 11, 2025. CJ Fogler/X John appeared to smile and patted his son on the chest as Tyrese walked back onto the court. It wasn't immediately clear what made John's wardrobe choice so egregious that his son took a playful jab at him, but the elder Haliburton seemed to be all smiles on Wednesday night as he returned to his courtside seat for the first time since he got into a confrontation with Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo in Game 5 of the first round. His seat was directly behind an ESPN cameraman behind one of the baskets. 3 Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers reacts during the fourth quarter against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game Three of the 2025 NBA Finals at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on June 11, 2025 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Getty Images John had not attended games in person following the first round incident until Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Knicks, when he sat in a suit far from the courtside view he usually had. Tyrese poked fun at the situation following that game — a 130-121 win for Indiana — when discussing his dad's return to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. 'I know people were saying, 'Free Pops' and Pops is free, but he was not in jail,' he told reporters at the time. 'He has a very beautiful home, very pretty to watch basketball. So he was just fine. I just wanted to win.' 3 John Haliburton attends Game 3 of the 2025 NBA Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Kyle Terada-Imagn Images John has become a bit of a folk hero for Pacers fans, with one local TV reporter posting to social media on Wednesday that she believed she found 'John Haliburton's biggest fan, and he just so happens to be from Taiwan!' With the win, the Pacers took a 2-1 series lead in the Finals.
