A woman who was last week revealed as Freddie Mercury's 'secret love child' took a DNA test to confirm her paternity.
After being diagnosed with AIDS in 1987, the lead singer of rock band Queen died from complications from the disease aged 45 in 1991.
Throughout his life Mercury – born Farrokh Bulsara – had relationships with both men and women, having once stated he was bisexual.
However a few days ago, 34 years after his death, it was revealed the musician allegedly fathered a child after having a brief fling with a friend's wife.
In a new book titled Love, Freddie, written by biographer Lesley-Ann Jones, the so-called secret daughter, who was born in 1976 and is only referred to as 'B', speaks out for the first time.
After facing questions about the claims, Jones has shared a defiant message on social media.

'To those 'demanding' to see proof of a DNA test, otherwise they won't believe it – please rest assured that the requisite verification was obtained, legal teams have been involved, but that such measures are private & not shared publicly. Thank you,' she posted on X.
'Before that comment, she had also shared: 'I'm so grateful for all the love for my forthcoming book Love, Freddie! Pre-orders drove it to the top of THREE Amazon charts this w-e, & it's not even out for another 12 weeks! Thank you all.
'And to those insisting Freddie Mercury's diaries were 'faked with AI', that his daughter 'doesn't exist! & that I've made the whole thing up: wait & see! His true story, told in his own words, is incredible. I love him all the more for it. You will too.'
It was previously believed only Mercury's Queen bandmates, parents, sister, and former partner, Austin, knew about the child's identity.

In the book B shares in a handwritten letter: 'Freddie Mercury was and is my father.
'We had a very close and loving relationship from the moment I was born and throughout the final 15 years of his life He adored me and was devoted to me.
'The circumstances of my birth may seem, by most people's standards, unusual and even outrageous.'
However, she went on to write that it 'never detracted from his commitment to love and look after me'.

The woman, who is now aged 48 and works in medicine in Europe, said the decision to reveal herself was 'my decision alone'.
She also claimed Mercury gave her 17 volumes of his personal journals before his death.
Although Jones said she was doubtful when B first reached out to her, the author told the Daily Mail she was 'absolutely sure she is not a fantasist'.
She said the woman 'never asked for money' and 'does not want recognition'.

A fourth added: "What beautiful attention to detail your father gave to these maps and what a lovely tribute you gave to him last night. Inspiring word". Brian's touching post comes after he and Queen drummer Roger Taylor were awarded the 2025 Polar Music Prize at a gala ceremony in Sweden this week on Tuesday May 27. The legendary musicians were honoured for their remarkable careers and contribution to music. Stepping up to accept the award, Brian told the crowds: 'In this special moment, I contemplate how that younger Brian May in 1974 would have felt if he knew that we would be living this kind of dream 50 years in the future.' While Roger recalled: 'When we started our band… we had ambitions, but never dreamed of the journey that was to follow. "We were fortunate in the fact that our four wildly different personalities came together to achieve a wonderful chemistry. 'The Polar Music Prize is exceptional in the fact that, unlike other awards, it recognises the entirety of an artist's career. "What an honour to be included in the glittering cavalcade of previous laureates.' The evening featured live musical performances celebrating Queen's legacy and the other award winners and nominees as rock band Ghost performed a rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody alongside Opeth guitarist Fredrik Akesson. Queen frontman Adam Lambert, who was appointed as the de facto lead singer of the band in 2011, then took to the stage. He sang Queen hits Who Wants to Live Forever and Another One Bites the Dust, which were originally performed by the late Freddie Mercury.

Three Amazon Fire TV gadgets to lose access to Netflix FOREVER in three days – final warning to upgrade
NETFLIX is pulling its app from three Amazon Fire TV gadgets next week - so your subscription might be worthless unless you upgrade your tech. From 3 June, two Fire Sticks and a Fire TV box will lose Netflix forever. The shutdown affects the first-generation Fire TV box, Fire TV Stick, and Fire TV Stick with Alexa voice remote - Amazon's oldest telly products. They are all more than a decade old. Even Amazon quit support for the devices several years ago - meaning they no longer receive software or security updates. But if you still use your OG Fire Stick, you should have received an email from Netflix warning of the upcoming change, according to PC World. The first-generation Fire TV devices will continue to work as they have done - simply without Netflix. They have all the other apps, such as BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, Prime Video and Disney+ - for now. It's worth noting that like Netflix, other platforms may too decide to pull their services from ageing tech later down the line. Affected viewers who want to continue having uninterrupted access to Netflix will have to buy a newer Fire TV gadget - or a telly streaming rival like a Roku Stick or Google Streamer. If you don't want to upgrade to a new Fire TV device, you should cancel your subscription, to avoid paying fees on something you can't watch. Legal ways to slash your Roku and Amazon Fire Stick TV bills by 100% – and Netflix 'plan swap' saves you money The streaming giant hasn't said exactly why it's pulling support for older gadgets. Last year, the Netflix app vanished from dozens of Sony and Apple TV models that were also roughly a decade old. A report from CordBusters noted that the decision was likely put down to newer video standards. When streaming services start using newer technology, older devices may not have the necessary hardware or software to support the advancements. That's why some gadgets stop receiving new features, or are unable to stream in 4K picture quality. It's worth noting that while older devices don't necessarily need new features or better picture - security updates are always helpful. cybercriminals, or fix glitches that can hinder your use of the device.
